Karina had just turned thirty-five. She hosted a small dinner party at home with her closest friends earlier and now, she’s opening the last present left on her living room table.
From: Kim Taeyeon
Her sister.
Karina tries to compose herself as tears started to form in her eyes. Taeyeon left a short message saying that she was sorry she couldn’t make it and hopes that her gift would make up for it. Karina’s hands started to tremble as she gently opened the intricately wrapped small gift box.
She couldn’t help but gasp. It was a rosary necklace.
Her favourite rosary necklace. The one that matches her rosary ring that she always wore.
It was beautiful. The unblemished pure silver felt very familiar as she gently ran her fingertips over it. She once knew someone who was just as beautiful— just as familiar, blemished but was perfect in her eyes.
Karina slowly raised the jewelry on her neck and wore it. It felt like home.
She closes her eyes for a while, smiling gently. Suddenly, she’s back in the past, fifteen years ago.

Winter sighs as she grabs her keys and opens the door. She had a long week, university was stressing her out and don’t even mention the piles of research that she has to do for her thesis. Tonight, she just wanted to relax and unwind, have a glass of wine and cuddle with her girlfriend.
Winter immediately goes to the kitchen and watched as Karina cooks her favourite comfort food, kimchi-jjigae while only wearing an oversized shirt that barely covers her buttocks. “You should cook more often,” she said as she hugged the raven-haired girl from behind.
“You just love staring at my backside.” Karina said, turning her head slightly so she could kiss the blonde on the cheek.
“True.” Winter laughs and plants a kiss on the latter’s neck.
“Go and set the table, you’re distracting the chef.”
“That wasn’t distracting at all. This is distracting,” Winter countered, sliding her hands under Karina’s shirt, running her fingers all over her abdomen up to her chest. Karina sighs in contentment and glares at Winter when she playfully removed her hands and went off to set the table.
Winter grins in victory as she managed to successfully tease the girl.

“Where’s my kuromi plush?” Karina asks Winter who just emerged from the bathroom, clad in a pale pink bathrobe.
“Jimin, love, do you really have to cuddle that plush every night instead of me?” Winter asks as she opens the drawer beside their bed and hands the girl her mini kuromi plush.
“She has a name. Kuromi. And yes, I do. Kuromi plushes are a girl’s best friend, babe.” Karina said as she prepares to go to bed.
Winter rolls her eyes affectionately, “I’m pretty sure the quote said diamonds, not kuromi plushes.”
Karina laughs as she sits behind the blonde, “What I’m pretty sure at is that I’m too in love with you.”
Winter raises an eyebrow, “More than kuromi?”
“More than kuromi.” Karina answers seriously.
“Well I’m pretty damn in love with you too.” Winter replies as she leans in to kiss her girlfriend.
