“No more sad songs tonight,” the vocalist giggles as she fixes her guitar strap, “I’d like to end this night with feel good songs.” She added, now flipping thru the mini notebook on top of her keyboard.
‘Aww too bad, I’d like to feel divorced tonight though.’ One of her audience said, giving her a small pout.
She laughs with the remark, along with the crowd in front of her. “I don’t want to beat Adele on that category, let’s feel giddy tonight. Shall we?” she said, earning a soft yes from them, “I’m planning to sing some songs that I just discovered recently. I hope you enjoy.”
Winter smiles and prepares herself, her eyes looking around for a certain person usually standing at the back and listening to her, “This song is ‘Trust Me’ by Dreamcatcher.”
Her fingers gently strums her guitar strings as she moves closer to the microphone.
‘I’m still lost I don’t know where to go
It’s not getting any better
Actually, I’m still young
So I don’t know
Don’t know where I am right now
I look out the window
The weather makes it even darker
So it’s making me think more tonight’
She finally sees her, the red among the blues of the crowd, she unknowingly smile as their eyes met. She discovered another color of her tonight.
‘Far away over there
Slowly I hear and feel the rain
Close your eyes and tell me It’s alright, it’s alright
Like this
So trust me’
She moves away from her microphone for a brief moment to take a deep breath before she continues.
‘When you’re tired and struggling
When you feel frustrated
When nothing is easy
Nothing at all
It’s been a while
Come rest here
You’re always so busy
Sometimes, you can take a break
Don’t even wanna go outside in this weather
Just lay down in my room’
No, she doesn’t even know her name. Winter sings, and the other woman listens. Just an audience, just a bystander.
‘I look out the window
And the streets are so quiet
So I’m locked up with thoughts even more tonight’
But it was her colors that makes Winter look for her every now and then, how she turns gray when she sings ‘When we were young’ or how she shines a vibrant green when she hums to the tune of ‘Bubbly’.
She was different, while everyone dances blue to ‘Easy on Me’, that girl emits the softness of color white.
‘Far away over there
Slowly I hear and feel the rain
Close your eyes and tell me
It’s alright, it’s alright
Like this
Smile
Even more
I want to keep
The happy me
Far away over there
Slowly I hear and feel the rain
Close your eyes and tell me
It’s alright, it’s alright
Like this
So trust me’
‘But why do I feel sad?’ the same girl from earlier murmured, clutching her chest dramatically.
Winter chuckles and shakes her head. “Well, I still have few songs on my list.” She said, her eyes looking back to where the girl was earlier, she smiles as she was still there, waiting. “Maybe ‘Unwritten’ will make up for it?”
She started playing her guitar again, the colors automatically glowing in front of her.
‘I am unwritten
can’t read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
the pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
so close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions’
There she was, the only Pink behind those bright Yellow. She was
