The Crimson Butterfly [My Hero Academia & Tokyo Ghoul]

Description

In response, everyone in the class simply stared at me for a few seconds before Midoriya spoke up.
“Nana-chan, why do you want to become a hero?”
I chuckled and rubbed the back of my neck in a sheepish manner.
“You see, I never thought or dreamed or craved for becoming a famous No.1 hero like All Might. As you all know, I lost both my parents in a villains’ attack when I was really young. From then, I decided of becoming a hero, so I’ll be able to save people’s lives and protect those who are precious to their beloved ones. I don’t want people to lose their beloved ones as I did. I don’t want children to become orphans like me. I want to save the lives of people regardless of what they are and who they are. I don’t care if I can’t become No.1 like All Might. As long as I can go around, do good stuff and bring smiles to people’s faces, I’m happy.” I smiled.

Foreword

Prologue

"This is such a pain in the ..."

It was one of the busy nights of Musutafu City in Japan; a metropolitan city that never slept.

When night fell in Musutafu, the fast pace of life slowed down, the young crowd began to fill up the y nightclubs, the streets shone with multicolored lights and the sound of music filled the air. The city was run by night owls, which means it didn’t disappoint anyone and there was no dearth of clubs, karaoke, bars, and restaurants here. Every night this city came alive with music and light, a city that was phenomenally vibrant at night.

A pro-hero was minding his business as he stood on the top of the roof of a huge building and patrolling around the city.

Since Musutafu City was so orderly, it was hard to tell just how dense the metropolis was, until one saw it from above. At Musutafu City View’s rooftop Sky Deck, one would be confronted with the immensity of the capital, a sprawling urban jigsaw of tightly squeezed buildings stretching all the way to the horizon. It could be a breathtaking experience up there for anyone and quite literally so as one would be walking along the edges of the rooftop, but they should keep their eyes on the prize and spot all the iconic landmarks including Musutafu Tower and Skytree as well as Musutafu Bay in the distance.

"I really need to go home and get some sleep." he yawned as he looked down at the busy streets.

Musutafu City was especially enchanting come nightfall when the lights were on and one could understand if they wanted to spend more time soaking up the view.

Suddenly the pro hero sensed something, which irritated him a quite lot.

"Tch, that brat again..." he muttered.

He quickly jumped from rooftop to rooftop and landed on an alleyway.

"What are you doing here?" he asked sternly, narrowing his eyes at a young teenage girl.

The girl who was standing right in front of him was quite pretty looking; tall stature, a slender physique with fair skin, straight silky black hair that went down beyond her shoulders, and brownish amber eyes.

"Yo! Old geezer!" she chirped with a smirk on her face.

"Don't be so happy to see me..." he scolded. “I told you to stay home, didn't I?"

"Yeah?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Then why are you here?" he asked.

"I was getting bored at home, so I decided to help you out." the ravenette girl explained. "It's been so long since I kicked someone's and helped you in your mission."

"I don't need your help. Besides I'm not on a mission, I'm just patrolling." the pro-hero said, extremely annoyed. "Plus it's dangerous out here. Don't be such a brat. Go home."

"But I wanna help you out..." the girl whined. “Besides, I love danger."

"What are you, a suicidal maniac?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Huh? Of course not!" she snapped.

"Go home brat." he sighed. "I can't concentrate on my work if you're here..."

Then suddenly out of nowhere, an unfamiliar voice spoke up.

"Well, I don't think she's going anywhere~" the voice cooed from the corner of the alleyway. "We finally found you, Nana Osaki..."

"Do you recognize the voice?" asked the pro-hero.

The girl named Nana Osaki shook her head in response as a frown slowly started to form on her pretty face.

"We've been searching for you for the longest time." the voice said again. "Now come with us."

"Hell no!" Nana frowned, getting into a fighting stance.

"Well, that wasn't very nice now, was it?" the man muttered.

As the man came closer, the pro hero and the girl were able to get a better view of him. He was a slim man with deathly pale skin, tinged yellow and wrinkled a great deal around his eyes. He had messy grayish-blue hair of varying lengths, the longest clumps reaching to about his shoulders. Most importantly, he had a hand on his face which restrained them to see his face.

"Stay back!" the pro-hero said to the girl pushing her behind him. "You need to get out of here right now!"

Before she could do anything, more bodies surrounded them.

"!" the pro hero cursed.

"We won't let the pro-hero get in our way." The leader of the villains said. "Get the girl!"

The villains rushed forward to attack them but failed as the pro-hero blocked every attack while keeping them away from the girl. Nana dodged a villain who tried to grab her.

"Well you got moves, I see." The leader smirked.

"Well I've moves you never seen before." she smirked while creaking her neck, before getting to a fighting stance.

"Well let's see what have you got."

"Nana, get out of here!" the pro-hero shouted.

"It's okay, old man." Nana responded. "I can handle one or two villains on my own.”

After that, two red-black-colored wings (Ukaku Kagune) came out from her shoulder area and four red-colored tentacles (Rinkaku Kagune) came out from the back around her waist. The iris of her eyes turned crimson red while the sclera turned black.

"A Ghoul quirk..." the leader muttered, eyes widened at the sight of the wings and tentacles.

Slowly, a smirk formed on his creepy face as he stared at those Ghoulish appendages with content.

"Get her." he commanded.

A villain nodded his head and dashed towards Nana.

"Nana!" the pro-hero yelled.

"Don't worry, old man!" Nana assured.

She jumped back when the villain slammed his fist onto the ground. Wasting on time, she shot multiple crystallized bullets from her Ukaku Kagune. The villain dodged the bullets and again tried to attack her. She used her Rinkaku Kagune to strike against the villain but he dodged it again. The fight went on and later she successfully penetrated one of the tentacles through the villain. The villain screamed in pain as blood flowed from his body and flooded the ground.

'She finally brought down one' thought the pro-hero, who was still fighting with several other villains.

"Well, you smell delicious..." Nana smirked at the injured villain with a sadistic look on her face. “Let me taste you a bit, huh?"

And with that, she zoomed close to the villain, knelt down, and took one of his hands.

"Hey! What the hell?!" The villain yelled, trying to pull away from the girl.

But it was already too late as she bit down on the villain's hand with her sharp teeth. The villain screamed out in pain and agony as she tore a piece of flesh from his hand before chewing and swallowing it down, blood dripping from the corner of her lips. She took several more bites from his hands and also from his shoulder region as blood stained the hoodie she was wearing. The other villains watched her with wide eyes and jaw dropped.

A Ghoul Quirk.

"That's it for today" she said with a sadistic smirk as she finally stopped herself before devouring the villain completely. "Besides I can't eat up a whole human being anyway. Thanks for the food. You are delicious."

Both of her kagune grew even bigger and stronger as her crimson red irises glowed brighter than before.

'Glad I ate the flesh. Now I'm feeling stronger now than before.'

"Well, that wasn't any good..." the leader muttered as he scratched his cheeks and neck while observing the young girl in front of him.

'She'll be a perfect addition in the League of Villains…’

She started to fight with the other villains to help the pro-hero.

"Looks like you're feeling stronger now." the pro-hero noted.

"Yeah, it's been a while since I ate human flesh..." she replied. “I really needed it…”

She threw more crystallized bullets from her Ukaku Kagune and also shielded herself with them from blows and fists. She attacked back the villains with her Rinkaku Kagune by striking them like a whip or sometimes like a sword and tried to penetrate them through the villains.

"You should go now, Nana," said the pro hero, fighting along with her.

"Shut it, Eraser Head." snapped Nana. "Let me help you."

"Brat..." the pro hero Eraser Head grumbled under his breath.

"This is taking way too long!" the leader hissed with irritation in his voice. "Just get her already!"

But before any other villain could get to her, several new voices surrounded them.

"I don't think so!" said a new voice.

"Tch... these pro-heroes..." the leader snarled under his breath.

"Everything is fine now that I'm here!"

"Great... even more pro-heroes..." he growled before letting out a heavy sigh. “Kurogiri, let's move out."

With that, the boss and his companions ran and jumped from rooftop to rooftop, disappearing into the darkness of another alleyway.

"You finally came, All Might." Eraser Head stated in a bored tone.

"Sorry for being late!" All Might flashed out a huge toothy grin.

"Thanks to your stupid grand entrance, the villains ran away, Toshi-chan!" Nana complained, narrowing her eyes at the No.1 pro hero while pointing a finger at him.

"Sorry for that." All Might apologized with a sheepish smile. "Some heroes went after them just now. They'll get caught. So don't worry".

"Hope so..." Nana muttered and let out a heavy sigh.

"Anyway, are you both okay?" All Might asked. "Did you get hurt?"

"No. I'm fine..." Eraser Head replied, looking at the young girl. "Did you get hurt, brat?"

"Don't worry. I'm okay, old man." Nana replied.

"Looks like Nana-chan kicked some asses today." All Might commented, eyeing at her blood-strained hoodie.

"Yeah I did!" the ravenette girl chirped. "And don't worry about the blood..."

"Are you sure about it?" Eraser Head asked with a concerned voice.

"Nah, I'm good!" Nana assured. "You know I can eat normal human food to satisfy my appetite. I just sometimes need a small amount of human flesh to keep my quirk strong, that's all."

She let out another sigh with a dejected look on her face.

"After all, I'm a freaking ghoul..." she added.

"You're not a ghoul, Nana-chan." All Might stated.

"You've got a quirk which has the power and strength of a ghoul." Eraser Head added. "It's a rare kind of quirk."

"You're intelligent and strong Young Nana." All Might cheered. "Don't underestimate yourself!"

Nana blinked a few times at the two pro heroes before the expression on her face softened a bit.

"Thanks for trying to make me feel better..." she said with a soft chuckle.

"But I can't ignore the fact that you sneaked out of the house and got yourself in trouble, brat." Eraser Head stated in a serious tone. "You're grounded for a week.”

"Huh?! Seriously?! Jeez, old man." the girl grumbled, pouting.

"What did you do?" All Might asked.

"It's been long since I helped my old man in a mission or patrolled the city." she explained. "I was getting bored at home, so I wanted to help him out. You know how much I love kicking asses of bad guys."

"And you got yourself in trouble." Eraser Head sighed. "Nana, you know the villains are after you for a long time because of your quirk. You should be more careful. Today the villains came specifically after you. That means they kept their eyes on you and waited for you to come out. And today they finally got the chance..."

"What? Really? Today they came after her?" All Might asked in concern. "Then you should be more careful and listen to Aizawa, Nana-chan."

"But nothing happened to me!" she said. "They couldn't even put a scratch on me!”

"Nana, I'm being serious here." Eraser Head who was also known as Shota Aizawa said sternly. "Don't try to test my patience, young lady. It's my duty to protect you and here you are goofing around. Try to act more responsible next time."

"If you really want to be a hero, then join UA High!" All Might said as he flashed out another of his signature toothy grin. "You said you love doing hero works. And besides Aizawa can recommend you there!"

"I-I don't know..." Nana sighed, looking away. "I didn't think about it yet."

'Well, I really do love beating up the bad guys and saving lives though... I really do want to become a hero...' Nana thought, looking down.

"Then start thinking brat." Aizawa said with a stern look on his face. "You just recently graduated from middle school and now you've to get into a high school anytime soon. And if you want to become a hero like us, then say so and start working your off."

And with that Aizawa walked away from the alleyway.

'Jeez, brat... I promised Daisuke and Junko to keep you safe... And you're making it so difficult...' Aizawa thought, walking out of the alleyway.

"Don't worry, Nana-chan!" All Might smiled, patting her head. "He's just worried about you. And besides, you should be more careful, especially because the villains are always after you and your quirk."

"Sorry Toshi-chan." Nana mumbled, biting her bottom lip. "I really want to be a hero."

"Then talk to Aizawa about it." All Might suggested. "But before all of that, apologize to him for today. And also stay away from trouble."

"You think U.A High is okay for me?" she asked.

"Why not?" he laughed while ruffling her black hair. "You're strong and intelligent and have a pure heart. You deserve to be there. You possess a rare quirk that is special and really strong. Have more confidence in yourself and your quirk."

"Thanks, Toshi-chan." Nana said with a smile. "I'm feeling much better now."

"Don't worry." All Might chuckled, patting her shoulders. "You know you can always to talk to me whenever you want."

"By the way where have you been anyway?" she asked as they walked out of the alleyway. "I haven't seen you for almost two months..."

"I've been busy lately." All Might replied quietly.

"Training with that green-haired freckle boy?" she asked in a low voice.

All Might simply hummed in response and slightly nodded his head.

"Well, good luck with that..." Nana said, before walking towards Aizawa.

When she walked up to Aizawa she noticed him talking to some heroes and police officers about today's villain attack and giving them the necessary information they needed for the investigation. After all of that was over, they started to walk back home. There was complete silence between them as they walked down the street side by side. Soon later they finally reached home and Nana was the first one to speak up and break the silence.

"Hey old man, I'm really sorry for today." Nana muttered apologetically. "I realize my mistakes and I'm really sorry for acting irresponsible. I should've known better."

Aizawa let out a sigh, running a hand through his long raven locks.

"It's okay, brat." he replied. "Don't sweat it. Just listen to whatever I say and stay away from trouble. I'm glad nothing happened to you.”

"And I'm also thinking of high school and stuff..." she added.

"And?" Aizawa asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I always wanted to be a hero." she replied. "So I'm thinking of going to U.A High. But it's not confirmed yet though. Give me some time to think more about it."

"You should better, brat. High school is important. Just take your time to think." he sighed as he started to walk towards his bedroom.

"I've got a name. Don't call me brat." she grumbled and frowned, pouting while crossing her arms across her chest.

"Whatever, brat..." he responded, waving his hand, not even bothering to look back at her.

"Jeez, old geezer..."

A/N: I know the prologue isn't that good. I tried hard to come up with something better when I was re-writing it, but this is all I can come up with. But don't worry though, cause the story gets better in future chapters. So, please stick around with me. Love, Author-chan~
