What is this awesome story about?

"Welcome! Welcome! Good morning to everyone!" She smiled her wide smile. Her voice high and squeaky as the national anthem played. She mouthed the lyrics and sighed. "Oh, I love that. Now, as you all know, today is reaping day."

Of course everyone knew. Why do you think they all look terrified. I played with the bracelet on my hand. Surely, I won't get picked, right? Cross that out. Never mind, I had put my name in there at least thirty times this year now. My family and I had been poor for years now and I vowed to feed every single one of their mouths.

"Shall we begin?" She smiled. No one answered. As usual. "Ladies first."

Walking towards the large bowl that contained all our names, she wondered through the bowl first, her hand circling through the slips of paper. All the girls stopped and held their breath. This year, they would be taking two girls. And when they take two girls, they'll be taking two boys. Oh the joy of the Hunger Games.

I watch carefully as she takes out two slips of paper. She smiled and raised them up high. With her high-pitched voice and crystal blue eyes, she announced the names of the two girls who would fight to death in the Hunger Games. Not to long now will she announce the two boys.
