[Goryeo vs Baekje]

 

In the midst of the war between the people of Goryeo and Baekje, both Mortal Clans head face to face with each other. Striking their swords into the opponent's bodies, throwing their spears into the enemies' stomach, and aiming their arrows into the hearts of a rival. Battle cries and the sharp, piercing screams of swords clashing against each other thunders in the midst of all this massacre...

KIM MINJU'S POV

I pierce my sword into a Baekje scumbag as blood splatters aimlessly onto my face, I quickly take my sword out and he falls onto his knees with blood spurting from his mouth as he finally falls dead. Soon, another opponent comes at me with their sword, swinging violently as I dodge every single one. 

I then grab his arm as I twist it, making him yell in pain, then I kick his shin to make him fall onto his knees as that gives me a chance to strike my tainted sword right in his chest. His face says it all as he falls onto the ground with his blood dissipating and painting the ground red. . .

 

I pant heavily as I stare at the battlefield around me, gripping the murder weapon in my hand I can't help but look at the amount of bodies lying dead and the deafening screeches of battle cries that drown out the entire world...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I stare out into space until...

 

"HEY! SNAP OUT OF IT KIM MINJU! THIS IS NO TIME TO BE ZONING OUT RIGHT NOW-- WATCH OUT!"

A person yelled as she strikes her sword into the enemy, defending Minju as she realises that she had been lost in thought and forgot she was in a battle. She turns and sees two other opponents coming her way and she blocks their attacks and strikes one of them but the other one was about to swing their sword at Minju, however, the ally blocks it just in time as she pushes back with her sword and slashes the enemies' throat.

Minju turns to see who defended her as she too looked at Minju.

"I didn't need saving you know, Yujin...You didn't need to defend me I can fight for myself." I told her with an annoyed and cold tone as Yujin scoffs and swings her sword in her hand before wiping off the excess blood off her sword with her sleeve.

"Didn't look like it Crown Princess, if I wasn't there to snap you out of your trance; you wouldn't be standing here talking to me, instead you'd be bleeding to death-isn't that right?"

Yujin smirks at her whilst Minju glares at her and pouts a little, wiping off the little specks of blood that splashed on her face from before.

"Whatever, it's your job anyway to keep me safe even though you're my friend. My father trusted you to protect me so just do your job and let's get the hell out of here, I'm sick and tired of smelling blood."

I say harshly as Yujin just nods and swings her sword one last time before facing forward and getting ready to finish this battle once and for all...

 "Whatever you say Crown Princess...Your wish, is my command..."

NO ONE'S POV

In the end Goryeo was the one who ended up victorious as the battlefield left many bodies lifeless on the cold ground, with blood staining the grass and Goryeo soldiers roaming the area killing off the remaining Baekje soldiers who were injured. 

Whereas, Minju was staring at her surroundings, looking at all the people who have died, whether if it was her own or not, they had families, friends and they too had a life...

 "You're spacing out again Crown Princess..."

Yujin interrupts Minju's train of thoughts as she gets startled by her but keeps her composure and looks down.

"What do you want Yujin? Can't you see that I always need some alone time after every battle we've fought?

Minju says tiredly as she sighs and looks at Yujin with an expressionless face. Yujin gives her a small smile and stands next to her.

"And can't you see that you always need me right by your side after every battle we've fought so far? I won't say anything, just keep doing what you usually do okay?" Yujin reassures Minju as she still gives her a soft smile but Minju looks away and stares at the horrid scene in front of her.

"Why do you keep pestering the poor girl?! Leave her alone Yujin, she wants to be alone!" A voice yelled out from a distance. The two turned around to see their other friends Chaeyeon, Yena, Nako and Hitomi walking their direction. It turns out that Yena was the one who yelled out to Yujin.

"Why do you care you little duck, for all I know you kept clinging onto Chaeyeon for half the battle you coward~~~" Yujin mocked as Yena pouted with her duck lips before sprinting up to Yujin and tackling her onto a Baekje corpse.

 "OH MY GOD- THERE'S A DEAD MAN UNDER ME! YENAAA!! I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU REGRET TACKLING ME!!" Yujin screams as she tries to get up but Yena pushes her weight down which pushes Yujin further into the corpse.

"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR CALLING ME A COWARD! REMEMBER THAT I'M THE ONE WHO KEEPS SAVING YOUR AT THE LAST MINUTE CAUSE YOU KEEP STARING AT YOUR PRECIOUS MINJU! Yena yells back and teases Yujin who's now blushing because Yena spilled the tea, so Yujin punches her ribs and manages to get Yena off her and instead leaves Yena laying on top of the rotting corpse.

""AHHHH-- WHAT THE !! YUJIN OKAY I'M SORRY GET OFF ME!!" She screeches as Yujin laughs at her and shakes her head no. Whilst the remaining members of the Mortal Clan watch the two crackheads of the group fight like babies. 

"Why do they keep doing this after every battle?" Hitomi sighs. "Beats me, I wonder why I'm even friends with them in the first place..." Chaeyeon chuckles. "Huh...So they're really the definition of stupid..." Nako wonders. "Pretty much..." Hitomi and Chaeyeon answer in-sync. The three huff in annoyance as Minju watches them baby fight and she smiles at the sight. "They're idiots alright..." She trails and they all turn their heads at Minju who keeps her eyes focused on the duo now calling a truce as they shake hands with each other. "But they're my idiots..." Minju chuckles as she folds her arms and smiles as they walk over to her.

"Thanks for the help guys...Whilst you four were having a nice chat, I was laying my backside on a dead corpse that was bloody- OW! Yujin, did you just slap my head-- HEY!"

"Tsk-stop your pestering! And stop blaming the Crown Princess who didn't want to save your sorry from being beaten from me and just take the dumb punishment!" Yujin said in an annoyed tone as she slapped Yena round the head for the third time now. 

 "Stop slapping me! I'm older than you, and you shouldn't be hitting me in the first place, so where's my respect?!" The elder questioned. "Tsk, respect? Show some respect for the Crown Princess of Goryeo instead of asking the Colonel of the Mortal Army, which by the way is standing in front of you, waiting for you to show respect..." Yujin replied back in a monotonous voice as she stares at Yena with a glint of fury in her eyes. 

"Remember that age doesn't matter even if you're a senior...You're only three ranks below me, know your place...Remember that, Captain..." Yujin scoffs as she then picks up her sword that was laying on the ground and walks away, leaving the rest dumbfounded but Minju was emotionless.

 "Yikes..." Hitomi hisses. "Well wasn't that salty..." Chaeyeon laughed. "Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight!" Nako cheered on. The trio make fun of the scene as they stand there used to the aggressive behaviour of their youngest. But Captain Yena is still processing the disrespect given from Yujin.

"W-Why did she say that-- HEY!! You really are a rude brat, you know that right?!" Yena yells as Yujin flips her off but continues walking away. Nako, Hitomi, Chaeyeon and Minju all laugh at Yujin's gestured response and Yena frowns at the fact that her best friend just flipped her off.

 "That son of a-- Calm down Captain, you know she gets agitated after every battle okay. Just give her some time to cool down and she'll eventually apologise...Don't take it to heart, you know deep down that her trauma still haunts her to this day right?" Chaeyeon interrupts, as she places her arm in front of her to prevent Yena from killing her own teammate as Yena got all angry and was about to storm over to Yujin, but Chaeyeon stopped her just in time before she would've made a scene...

Yena just scoffs and harshly removes Chaeyeon's arm away from her and angrily walks away in another direction, unlike Chaeyeon who was not fazed by Yena's action and instead just heavily sighs as she watches both her comrades throwing a silent fit in different directions.

"What would it take for the both of you to live a peaceful and happy life...? Where will fate bring us if all we've done is: serve, protect...and kill?" Chaeyeon states as she looks sadly at the ground and grips her sword. However, a hand reaches out and lies on top of hers, gently caressing it.

"Kill? Don't sugarcoat it Major...We're practically murderers nonetheless..." Minju taunted as she scoffs at the mess in front of her which was the battlefield...Chaeyeon glances at her before she scans the ruins, Nako and Hitomi do the same as they stand rooted in their positions next to Chaeyeon. "Guess I wasn't the only one who thought that...Sorry to make ourselves seem like "good people". My apologies Crown Princess..." Chaeyeon claimed as she bows her head out of respect and habit as she apologises for her wrong doings...

"Since when have we called ourselves good people?" Hitomi commented as Minju and Chaeyeon turn their heads to look at Hitomi who was observing the battlefield. "We're soldiers, warriors...We do sin but we're not the devil. We fight to live, we fight to protect...I think that's what makes us good people Crown Princess...Major General." Hitomi expresses as she turns to face Minju and Chaeyeon and gives them a warm smile as they too do the same.

"And besides, it's not like we can turn back time now--we're practically destined to be on the battlefield right? You wanted us right by your side when we fight, so that when we die...We die together, my lady." Nako added as she gives them a nod to let them know that she'd do anything for them, the rest all nod their heads as they'd do the same for each other. Minju stares at them before bursting out chuckling which grabs their attention.

"Why are you all lecturing me when I'm not even the youngest... Tsk, Yujin needs to be lectured the most right? She could do for some manners" Minju jokes as they all agree and they get ready to leave as they all strap their swords to their waist and start to walk away from the battlefield to where their horses are kept. 

As they reach the horses, they find Yena and Yujin talking and laughing as if their argument had never happened. 

"Looks like you two have made up. That's a relief, I can't stand a whiny dog and an angry duck at the same time. Looks like what Chaeyeon said to you Yena was right." Nako teases as she props herself onto her horse and smirks at the duo, but both Yujin and Yena avoid eye contact in embarrassment as a hint of red appears on their cheeks. 

"When was I never wrong Nako? I'm always right~ Because I'm truly the best~" Chaeyeon jokes as she too props herself onto her horse and also unties her sword from her waist and straps it around her shoulder so that the sword is facing her back. Yujin scoffs at Chaeyeon as she sticks her tongue out at her to . "Wow~~ Who are you to call yourself "the best" when it's obviously Crown Princess Minju" Yujin bragged as she scoffs again and holds onto her leash.

"Hold your tongue you whiny dog, it's obvious I'm the best since I'm the Crown Princess Kim Minju of Goryeo..." Minju pointed out as she stands in front of the horses and looks up at the five soldiers who have already propped themselves onto their horses. But Minju was the last to arrive, and still she heard their conversation.

"But I'd rather you'd call me by official new rank after the Crowning Ceremony, you must refer to me as the Crown Princess when we're alone or in front of my father, and refer to me only as my military rank when we're as a group or out on the battlefield...

Is that clear? Ahn Yujin..."

Minju commanded as Yujin tenses up but bows her head to show that she understands but looks away as she's embarrassed for being called out like that.

"That's the same for you four as well, you can call me the Crown Princess when we're alone, but anything other than that, you must call me by my new rank and that's final...

Have I made myself clear, you four?"

Minju declares as she stands still in her place almost glaring at her comrades as they too tense up but keep their composure.

"CRYSTAL!!" Hitomi, Nako, Chaeyeon, Yena and Yujin yell. "But, why do I feel like I'll get them mixed up- OUCH! AHN YUJIN!!" Yena yells in pain as Yujin slaps her round the head for what seems like the fourth time...I think it's safe to say that we should keep a tally for how many times Yena gets slapped in the head...

"You better not get them mixed up! If you say that in front of the King you'll be screwed you stupid duck!" Yujin lectures as she gives her a fifth slap and Yena was about to slap her back until...

"Okay, that's enough. Thank you Yujin I think she knows, but I suggest you stop slapping her for now cause I think she'll lose brain cells at this point...Then she'll be even more stupid and we wouldn't be able to handle her anymore" Minju truthfully says as the rest start bursting out laughing and Yena's face has "betrayal" written on it as Minju also starts lightly chuckling.

"Hold on, I'm completely offended right now." Yena complains. "It's okay, we get it...Your IQ is four." Chaeyeon mocks, sending them off the edge. 

"PWAHAHAHAHAHA!!" Chaeyeon and Yujin laugh uncontrollably as Yena is currently pouting and Nako and Hitomi are just silently dying of laughter, whereas Minju's covering to prevent herself from laughing any further as she just smiles at the comedy scene in front of her. 

"Okay you five, we best get going now-- don't want to be late for my Crowning Ceremony. Yujin, you head off first and then the rest will follow..." Minju states as they all quickly calm down and they all start to hold their leash with Yujin leaving first and the rest of them following with the remaining Goryeo soldiers following behind as well. 

However, Minju was about to prop herself onto her horse when she felt a weird breeze brush through her...She instantly froze then turned around and stared at the back of the battlefield...Only to see a black silhouette at the end of the field...

She gasps as she was about to let go of her horses' leash and was about to squint to see what exactly was it when a voice yelled out to her...

"MY LADY! AREN'T YOU COMING?!" Yujin yells as Minju snaps her head towards the direction of the voice and suddenly realises that she needs to be somewhere. She grasps onto her leash and effortlessly props herself onto her horse as she gives one last look and sees that there's no one there...

"Weird...I thought I saw something..." 

Minju mumbles as she then shakes her head to concentrate and starts riding off on her white horse, catching up from the back all the way to the front as she leads her whole army with her comrades trailing just behind her...
