Monday

 

Joohyun was running late for work so she hurriedly got inside the elevator.

 

She quickly pushed the ‘close’ button before pressing the ‘ground floor’ button.

 

The moment the elevator doors closed, she felt something wet on her left ankle.

 

Her eyes almost buldged out, and she almost squealed because it was small furry dog. It was sniffing her foot.

 

Not that she hated animals, but she was just afraid of them. Especially the furry ones.

 

Her condo building allowed pets, and everytime she would happen to see animals inside the elevator she would skip the ride without fail.

 

But apparently Mondays hated her and she failed to notice the small dog when she entered inside.

 

 

Well, she was running late after all.

 

Joohyun tried to lean sideways to stay as close as possible to the wall.

 

She kept wishing that there wouldn’t be anymore people coming inside since she was really running late. 

 

But the dog kept sniffing her feet.

 

She looked back at the owner and saw that it was a taller woman. She looked like she was going to the gym from her attire. But she couldn’t see their face because it was all covered up with a face mask and a cap.

 

She tried to make eye contact, but it was useless since the girl was also wearing airpods as she observed the girl slightly bopping her head.

 

Joohyun sighed. She just has to it up. It’ll just take a few minutes. 

 

However, there was still a good floors to go, and time seemed to be so slow as of the moment.

 

Moreover, it was really a bad day to wear a skirt because she can now feel the dog her shin and her ankle. 

 

She turned to the digital screen in front of her. 15 more floors to go, and she’s starting to get goosebumps in her arms, so Joohyun finally had it and turned to look at the little creature.

 

“No. Sit.”, she pointed a finger at it.

 

Amazingly, the dog followed her command while wagging it’s tail at her.

 

 

 

“You have a dog too?”

 

Joohyun looked up to see the owner smiling at her with the face mask pulled down under her chin.

 

Joohyun bit her lip. 

Okay, she totally didn’t expect that owner looked like that.

 

If she had a list of physical traits that she finds attractive in a person, then this woman perfectly fits the bill.

 

Alluring eyes: check ☑️

Sharp nose: check ☑️

Yummy Plump and rosy lips: check ☑️

‘Pinchable’ cheeks: check ☑️

Hot Fit body: check ☑️ (this wasn’t in her list initally, but the woman was wearing a fitted shirt showcasing the shape of her arms and body, it didn’t help that she was wearing her sweat pants low, giving Joohyun a peek of her firm tummy)

Height: check ☑️ (this also wasn’t in her list before, but somehow the height advantage of this woman slightly towering her made her knees weak)

 

 

The only thing she could do was to nod her head sideways shyly as a response.

 

 

12 more floors to go and the dog once again went back to sniffing her.

 

“No. Sit. Good girl. Now… Stay there..”, she pointed at the dog once again.

 

The dog barked at her. Startling her this time and resulting to a small high pitched squeal out of her.

 

The hottie owner (yes, she’ll call her that from now on) finally decided to to carry the dog in her arms after seeing Joohyun’s discomfort.

 

But not without releasing a chuckle.

 

“The dog’s a guy by the way.”

 

Joohyun just nodded in acknowledgement and turned to face the door.

 

A male dog with a black and pink collar?? Joohyun randomly thought.

 

 

Was is just her or was the elevator starting to get hot?

 

 

“Ding!”

 

Ground floor. 

Finally. 

 

Joohyun already got out, but she looked back to see that the hottie dog owner and the pesky dog stayed inside. She quickly remembered that one of the basement floor buttons were lit up.

 

Joohyun saw Ms. Hottie using the dog’s paw to make a waving gesture at her while giving her a cute smile.

 

Joohyun couldn’t help but smile back before the elevator doors closed.

 

 

Okay, that was.. really darn cute.

 

 

 

 

“Oh . I’m late.”

 

 

 

Her office was just less than a kilometer away from her place, but because she was rushing, she made sure to book a cab before leaving her condo just to make it on time.

 

She would usually use her car on days like this when she’s running late. But her college junior Rosé (who happened to be a newly hired employee in the company she was working at), borrowed her car for the rest of the week for an out-of-town work trip.

 

Being the good ‘unnie’ / work senior that Joohyun was, she relented after Rosé promised to gift her with lots of souvenirs and a full tank of gas in return. The younger girl didn’t want to commute and opted to drive because she was going to visit their Daegu office branch.

 

 

 

Joohyun couldn’t keep the smile off her face while she was sitting inside the cab.

 

TYL for that hottie. She thought to herself.

Her Monday now didn’t seem to be that awful anymore.

 

She gently slapped her forehead as she was embarrassed about her thoughts.

 

Good lord. Being single for 7 years really does things to her, just a smile from someone attractive already made her feel giddy.

“God, you’re awfully smiley for being late.”, her closest workmate / subordinate Joy commented as she passed by her table.

 

She counted 10 seconds in her head after she settled inside her office before she heard a knock on her door.

 

She rolled her eyes as she saw Joy standing outside.

 

“Spill.”

 

Joohyun sighed in exaggeration.

 

“Something happened. You’re usually grumpy on Mondays. Especially on days you’re late to work.”

 

Joohyun frowned.

 

“No I’m not. And that’s offending.”

 

“Sure. Whatever you say.”, Joy smirked before she finally left.

 

She let out another sigh.

 

“You still owe me that report from last Friday by the way!”

 

“I already emailed it boss!”

 

She sighed again.

 

My god. She needed to get laid.

Tuesday

 

Okay, so it’s not because of that hottie did she chose to come to work on the same time.

 

And no, she was just late running late to work again.

 

 

But who was she kidding, Joohyun was well-aware that she took her sweet time blowdrying her hair this morning and brushing her teeth. 

 

She also usually didn’t wear any make up, but today she applied some lipstick and a little bit of cheek tint.

 

Again no, it wasn’t because she was hoping to see that hottie that she made sure to ride the same elevator today as well.

 

Despite the other 4 elevators opening at the same time when she pressed the ‘down’ button.

 

But once the door opened and she got inside the empty elevator, did her mood slumped.

 

She was late for work and her elevator crush wasn’t there to welcome her.

 

Joohyun dejectly leaned on the wall and decided she liked Mondays better than Tuesdays.

 

 

——

 

 

“Now this is what I was talking about.”

She heard Joy say as she passed by.

 

“Oh shut up.”, she muttered. Fully aware that she had a scowl on her face.

 

She arrived late and there was no hottie today.

 

 

Later at lunch she was teased by her friends Joy and Yeri why she was wearing make up that day.

 

And for once, Joohyun didn’t have a good comeback.

Wednesday

 

Jooyhun woke up early like her usual routine.

 

Like really back to her normal daily routine. That being said, she woke up an hour earlier and left her place bare-faced, no make-up on like the usual. 

 

Not like she needed it anyway. But modesty aside, she just really liked the feeling of having her face bare and free from any chemicals or products that needed to be removed at the end of the day.

 

Plus, she figured what happened last Monday was just the universe allowing her to have a nice interaction with a hottie. So she just left it at that.

 

Maybe it was a sign too that she needed to go out more.

 

She wore her flats today because she would usually just walk to work given that it was just a 10-12 minute walk. She just happened to wear heels on Monday because she had a big presentation with some of the big wigs of the company.

 

Also, since walking gave her time to think while listening to some music.

 

She wore her airpods and opened her usual morning playlist.

 

Joohyun heard the ‘ding’ from one of the 6 elevators. It was at the left end. 

 

She calmly walked inside, but to her surprise it was that hottie again. Oh and of course with her dog.

 

 

“Aren’t you coming in?”

 

The hottie asked with a small smile.

 

“Oh. Yeah.”

 

Stupid. Joohyun muttered to herself. That was embarrassing.

 

“Ground floor?”

 

“Yes please.”

 

Just as Joohyun suspected, the dog made it’s way to her again even though she was on the opposite corner of the elevator.

 

Good thing she was wearing a pair of slacks this time.

 

“Hank. No boy. Come here.”

 

But the furry dog didn’t listen.

 

Joohyun bit her lip.

 

“Sit!”, she pointed at the dog.

 

The dog followed her command once again.

 

She unintentionally smirked and looked at the owner to see her cutely bitting her lip.

 

A mix of fruity and floral scent wafted her nose when the hottie owner picked up the dog and carried it in her arms.

The scent stayed with her even when the  hottie settled in the other side of the elevator.

 

But the dog kept barking and making a fuss in her arms.

 

“Oh god. Hank. Behave, please.”

 

The dog continued to make a fuss.

 

“You can put him down you know.”, Joohyun smiled after a few seconds passed by.

 

“But-“

 

“It’s okay. As long as he stays put.”

 

The dog was now making crying noises.

 

Joohyun chuckled, “Just place him down.”

 

“Ding!”

The elevator suddenly opened and an influx of people got inside.

 

Joohyun unconsciously moved to the side and settled beside the hottie and her dog. 

 

Another ‘ding’ indicated that the door will open again and in came a few more people making it stuffy inside the elevator.

 

Joohyun steathily looked up to see the hottie standing beside her with no space between them. They were standing in one of the back end corners of the elevator, shoulder to shoulder. And Joohyun, for the love of doing laundry, could not look away.

 

She couldn’t help let out a small smile having a very nice close up of Ms. Hottie’s sideview, but as quickly as it came it disappeared in an instant as she felt the dog smelling her hair. What’s worse was that it started to her chin.

 

“Mhmm!” Despite the cramped space, Joohyun tried to move her head a way but the pesky dog just followed her.

 

“Hank. No.”, she heard the owner softly commanding.

 

The owner cutely held the dog’s nose and mouth to close it.

 

Joohyun was able to relax, but she couldn’t help but chuckle and pity the poor dog.

 

He kept staring cutely at her despite his mouth being held to a close. He was surprisingly still despite his current predicament.

 

She felt a bit sorry for him. So for the first time ever, Joohyun lifted her hand and patted the dog’s head.

 

He chased her hand after she gave him a few rubs on top of his head and his ears.

 

The dog made a small noise that sounded like a complaint causing Joohyun to place her hand back on top of his head.

 

His hottie owner eventually let go of his snout since he started to behave. The dog was calmer now and looked really happy, as his tongue was cutely sticking out.

 

 

“Hank really likes you.”

 

Joohyun looked up to see the cutest smile.

She almost squealed in response with how close their faces were. 

 

Note— almost, 'cause she was able to stop herself.

 

 

“Yeah?” 

 

“Yeah.”

 

Joohyun ended up petting the dog the entire ride down despite the elevator being cramped.

 

She figured, maybe dogs aren’t as half bad. Or maybe this dog’s just an exception.

 

Once all of the people got off the elevator, did they notice that they were the only ones left inside.

 

 

“Goodbye.”, Joohyun said.

 

The dog barked, making them both laugh.

 

Joohyun waved goodbye again.

 

“See you around.”, she heard the hottie say before the elevator doors closed.

 

 

 

Okay so maybe Wednesdays were better than Mondays and Tuesdays.

 

 

Plus being early at work meant she wouldn’t get interrogated by her friend Joy. Since she must’ve looked really crazy right now.

 

She was skipping the whole time she entered their department, dawning a huge grin as she made her way inside her own office.

Thursday

 

Joohyun made sure to wake up earlier than yesterday to make sure that she’ll be able to ride the elevator same time as that hottie and so she can pet Hank again.

 

Okay, it was 50% because of his owner.

But who was she kidding it was purely because of his hottie owner.

 

She made sure that she was at least 10 minutes earlier than usual before she pressed the ‘down’ button of the elevators.

 

She was waiting in front of the exact same elevator. Not caring about the other 5 that kept opening every time she would press the ‘down’ button. She would let the elevator pass by every time she found it empty.

 

She was starting to get anxious because this was her fourth attempt to press the ‘down’ button.

 

She heard several ‘dings’ at the same time. She was about to wait for the elevator to close again after she found it empty, but she suddenly heard a bark. 

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

She saw Hank the dog in front of the farthest elevator followed quickly by her hottie owner.

 

“Hank come back here!”

 

 

Okay, maybe Thursdays might beat Wednesdays. 

 

 

She quickly kneeled down when the dog ran up to her.

 

Joohyun was so elated that she quickly caught the pooch in her arms when he jumped. But she didn’t expect the force of it which got her unbalanced, almost falling back onto floor.

 

“Uhmpf.”

 

She started giggling as the dog kept barking and her face.

 

“Oh my god. I’m so sorry.”

 

She felt Ms. Hottie’s arm around her back and the other pulling her hand, assisting her to sit up.

 

The dog eventually left her lap and settled sitting beside her still wagging it’s tail. He had his tongue cutely sticking out like he didn’t just knocked the wind out of Joohyun a few seconds ago.

 

“I’m really, really, really sorry about Hank.”

 

Joohyun smiled and looked at the dog still observing her.

 

And she couldn’t help but give him a rub under his chin which he automatically leaned against causing his tail to make small noises hitting the floor.

 

She continued to scratch under his chin harder causing him to lie on his tummy as if he wanted her to rub that part instead and Joohyun got it immediately and started rubbing his tummy with both of her hands forgetting all about her awkward position on the cold hard floor.

 

“Oh my god. Your dog is so adorable.”

 

Just like his owner. But Joohyun kept that let part to herself of course.

 

Joohyun heard the hottie sighing in front of her. She didn’t notice how close she was since she was kneeling beside her with an amused smile.

 

“Sorry.”, Joohyun timidly apologized.

 

The hottie quickly nodded sideways to disagree.

 

“Don’t be. I should be apologizing instead. Hank is.. I guess he really really took a liking with you.”

 

She smiled at Joohyun while half chuckling.

 

And she automatically let out a smile of her own in response.

 

“It’s cute.”

 

 

Joohyun saw her scratching her neck while looking at her blouse.

 

Joohyun looked down to see that her perfectly crisp and ironed white blouse and blazer had light grey stains on it.

 

She sighed and looked at the dog with a pout.

 

He was still lying down on the floor, belly-up, tongue sticking out and tail still wagging back and forth.

 

Which made the pout and semi-frown on Joohyun’s face instantly disappear.

 

“Please let me help you up.”

 

So Joohyun finally stood up from her position on the floor with Ms. Hottie’s help.

 

 

“I’m really sorry about your top.”

 

“It’s okay. It happens.”, Joohyun smiled in assurance.

 

“I guess it’s partly my fault for wearing an all-white attire today.”

 

She looked at Joohyun with a guilty expression.

 

 

“Uhm, I guess I have to go back and change my top.”

 

Joohyun was about to walk back to her place when she heard Ms. Hottie speaking behind her.

 

“Wait! Uh, I can’t help but feel guilty about what Hank did. Uhm, can I please pay you back by treating you for a drink or at least let me pay for a new top?”

 

Joohyun blushed at the offer.

 

She was great in removing stains. Not with her good brand of floral bleach and her own detergent concoction, the stains would come off effortlessly.

 

But Joohyun felt her heart skipping a beat as she heard the offer to take her out.

 

“No it’s fine.”, Joohyun gave her the best smile that she could offer, to remove that stressed expression from Ms. Hottie’s face.

 

“Please. I insist.”

 

It’s as if the dog insists as well because he barked at Joohyun.

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

Joohyun looked at her watch and saw that she only had half an hour left before she needed to clock-in for work.

 

“It doesn’t have to be today. Maybe after work or some other time. Just let me make it up to you.”

 

 

Joohyun bit her lip. It was a really tempting offer. 

 

She badly wanted to seem calm and professional, completely opposite of her inner-self already successfully fangirling.

 

Her thoughts got cut off when she felt a soft touch on her right ankle to see that the dog was rubbing his head on her foot.

 

The hottie owner laughed.

 

“Please. WE BOTH insist.”

 

And she couldn’t help but laugh too at their current predicament.

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

 

Thursdays can kick the out of Mondays, Tuesdays and even Wednesdays— Joohyun concluded.

 

 

“Okay. Maybe just treat me dinner and we’re even?”, she smiled and got one in return.

 

Joohyun swears that she felt her heart skipping a beat after she saw the cute pair of cheeks and a breathtaking eye-smile.

 

 

 

On an epic Thursday, Joohyun got the name of her elevator crush and her number all in the same day.

 

Yeah. Hands down, Thursdays definitely rule the week.

 

 

——

 

 

Joohyun got a text from the hottie that she was already outside her office. 

 

Since Joohyun wasn’t really doing anything after work, she asked they could have that dinner today.

 

Well, not that Joohyun was always busy after work. She’s an introvert and had always preferred to just stay at home.

 

 

She quickly packed her things and ran out of the office once the clock hit 6 PM.

 

Joy didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye and only saw Joohyun’s back as she ran past everyone of their workmates who were already packing their things or standing up to leave their tables. 

 

And yes, she may or may not have resorted to a sprint from her initial brisk walk just so she can get first dibs on the elevator going down.

 

 

Joohyun looked left and right and saw her crush standing near the wall beside the entrance of the office building.

 

She walked towards Joohyun with a smile.

Of course holding the leash connected to a happy Hank who looked really excited to see Joohyun.

 

 

“Hey Joohyun.”

 

“Hi.. Seulgi.”, she said breathlessly. 

 

She still can’t believe she can now put a name on her elevator crush aka formerly Ms. Hottie.

 

“You okay? You seem a bit.. out of breath.”

 

“Oh? I’m fine. Just a little winded.”

 

And Joohyun found it so endearing how Seulgi looked concerned for her.

 

So she it up and gave her a big smile.

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

“Hi Hank.”, Joohyun smiled at the dog, before bending down to give him a rub under his chin. 

 

 

“So.. uhm, any place you got in mind?”, Seulgi asked.

 

She had a good look at Seulgi’s outfit and instantly concluded that the taller woman would look good in whatever outfit she’ll wear because of her body proportions and with the way she carried herself charmingly.

 

Even if it was just something casual as a light beige jacket over a plain white shirt. 

Seulgi had the shirt tucked inside a pair light brown cargo pants, finishing the entire outfit with just a pair of white sneakers.

“Hmm… I guess anywhere that allows dogs inside?”

 

Seulgi instantly smiled at Joohyun’s answer.

 

“But, I don’t really know any, so..”

 

“Don’t worry. I know a place.”, she assured Joohyun.

 

“Arf Arf!”

 

“You’re really happy huh buddy?”, Seulgi cutely asked the dog as they started walking.

 

Joohyun bit her lip to hide the smile that was tempting to come out.

 

 

She started following Seulgi along only to get surprised when she led them into an open parking space.

 

It’s as if she felt Joohyun’s confusion so she spoke to explain.

 

“Uhm, you wouldn’t mind if we drove there, right? The place is quite far by foot if we choose to walk.”

 

“Uhm, yeah. Okay.”

 

She led Joohyun to a white Volkswagen T-Roc, before Seulgi opened the front door for her.

 

“Thank you.”

 

Seulgi gave her a small smile before she went to the other side of the car and opened the back seat.

 

Joohyun looked back to see a dog seat / basket placed on top of the seat behind the driver’s side.

 

Seulgi carefully placed Hank inside the basket before she gave him a few rubs on top of his head.

 

“You good buddy?”

 

“Arf!”

 

Joohyun smiled at their interaction.

 

 

 

“This is the first time I’ve seen one of those things.”, Joohyun commented once Seulgi settled beside her.

 

She pointed at the fluffy basket behind the driver seat where Hank was comfortably sitting. The basket was secured in the back seat, while Hank was also secured in his leash.

 

“Oh, I just borrowed that from a friend so I can take Hank with me whenever I needed to drive.”

 

“It’s cute and it looks like Hank likes it too.”

 

Seulgi laughed, looking at the dog through the dashboard mirror. “Yeah. He does.”

 

 

Both of them stayed silent as Seulgi started to drive.

 

“It’s just a 15-minute drive but it looks like it’s gonna take a while with this traffic.”

 

Joohyun smiled and just hummed in reply because she felt really shy all of a sudden. She was thinking of how this looked like they were out on a date. Or Seulgi was her girlfriend picking her up from work. 

 

Well, Joohyun can only wish and imagine.

 

Seulgi the car speakers before she pressed something on her phone.

Joohyun instantly knew the song that was playing and smiled.

 

Seulgi apparently has the same taste in music.

 

“You don’t mind right? I found out that Hank prefers to listen to music rather than hearing the noise outside.”

 

Seulgi explained without looking at Joohyun.

 

The drive was a bit slow but she honestly didn’t mind. 

 

Deep down Joohyun wished time would slow down just so she can spend more time with Seulgi.

 

Okay, and of course Hank too.

 

She looked behind and laughed as saw Hank bopping his head along with the song. She might just be imagining it, but Joohyun couldn’t help but laugh at the cute scene.

 

Joohyun wasn’t aware that Seulgi was observing her with a smile the entire time.

 

 

“It’s fine. I think it’s really cool how Hank and I have the same taste in music.”

 

Joohyun heard a soft chuckle beside her.

 

“Is that so?”, Seulgi smiled despite looking at the road.

 

Joohyun nodded while bitting her lip to stop the smile from coming out of her face.

 

 

Half way through the song, Joohyun started to softly sing along.

Joohyun found that the place Seulgi took her to was actually a café that allows pets inside as she saw the occupied tables with people and their pets.

 

 

“Wow.”

 

“Amazing right?”, Seulgi said beside her.

 

“You wanna sit over there?”, Seulgi asked as she pointed towards the small vacant table beside the window.

 

 

Joohyun concentrated in scanning the menu after the server handed one to their table.

 

She suddenly had a feeling that Seulgi was looking at her. 

 

And she was right.

Because when she looked up, she saw Seulgi observing her with a small smile.

 

Joohyun faked a cough to break their gaze.

“Uhm, I can’t decide which one to order.”

 

She bit her lip as she saw Seulgi getting embarrassed from getting caught.

 

“Oh, uhm. You should try their chicken cordon bleu. It’s to-die-for.”

 

Joohyun laughed at her description and joked.

“Yeah? But I might actually die from it ‘cause I’m allergic to chicken.”

 

“Oh. Oh god! Sorry!”

 

Joohyun giggled after seeing Seulgi’s panicked look.

 

“It’s okay. Maybe I can try something else?”

 

“Uhm, you can try some of their pasta. I’ve tried all of it and they’re really good. Their salisbury steak tastes good too.”

 

“Really? Just good and nothing to-die-for then?”, Joohyun teased and got a pout from Seulgi.

 

She giggled again at the reaction she got.

 

“I was just teasing you.”

 

“I know.”, Seugi smiled back.

 

“I’ll just have the seafood pasta then.”, Joohyun smiled and Seulgi ended up ordering the steak for herself.

 

After saying their orders, Joohyun busied herself by looking at the interior of the restaurant.

 

 

“Joohyun.”

 

“Hmm?”

 

“I actually have a confession to make.”

 

Joohyun gulped. ‘Oh god. She’s not about to confess right?’

 

“Hank’s not really my dog.”

 

‘Okay, that was anti-climactic.’, Joohyun thought.

 

“I’m actually baby-sitting him for my friend. She’s out on a work-related trip and I just volunteered to take care of him.”

 

“That’s actually really nice of you.”

 

“I’ve been thinking about getting a dog or maybe a cat anyway. Just thought (that) this could be like some sort of practice for me.”

 

“You honestly look like you’ve had pets all your life. I mean, with the way you take care of Hank.”

 

“Thanks.. Uhm, I mean I did have pets when I was growing up. We used to have two cats and a dog.”

 

Joohyun smiled at the thought of a younger Seulgi running around the yard with her pets.

 

Joohyun confessed she wasn’t fond of animals and that she was actually scared of them.

 

“So that’s why you looked so stiff when you first met Hank.”

 

“Well, I was scared of him initially. But he actually grew on me.”

 

They both looked at the pooch who was lying on the ground while playing with a fluffy chew toy.

 

“My friend actually got him from a rescue shelter. He was abandoned by his previous owner.”

 

“Oh god, that’s horrible.”

 

“Yeah.. And it made me think that instead of getting one from a pet shop, maybe I can adopt an abandoned dog or cat too.”

 

“That would be great Seulgi-ah.”

 

 

They talked for a few hours and Joohyun got to know that Seulgi was actually a graphic designer and a free-lance photographer. She initally started as a graphic artist because she loved to draw until she got promoted in her current position.

 

Joohyun thought that it makes sense how Seulgi can afford not to work in a office. Seulgi also told her that she only needed to report at least once or twice a week.

 

Seulgi showed Joohyun her IG page and there she was able to view all of Seulgi’s latest designs, up to her recent sketches and some of the photos that she took.

 

Safe to say Joohyun’s crush got worse.

She couldn’t belive that Seulgi was part of the team that designs the layout of her favorite fashion magazine.

“Is it okay if I, uhm, follow you?”, Joohyun timidly asked.

 

“Of course. As long as you let me follow you back.”, Seulgi winked before ending it with the cutest grin.

 

And Joohyun thinks one of her ovaries might have burst or collapsed. If that’s even possible.

 

 

They went on to talk about their hobbies. 

 

When Seulgi asked what her hobbies were, she shared that her hobby is cleaning and doing her laundry which made Seulgi laugh. 

 

“Are you serious?”

 

“Yeah. Why would I joke about that? I love doing laundry and ironing my clothes.”

 

“That’s adorable.”

 

 

Joohyun found out that Seulgi took dance classes in the morning since she used to be a dancer back in high school and college, plus it also serves as a form of exercise for her.

 

That’s why she saw a few video posts of Seulgi on her IG page while they were browsing through it together.

 

Joohyun noted to watch those videos the first thing she gets back home.

 

 

The night ended pretty well, with Seulgi driving both of them back home since they lived in the same building after all.

 

 

“Oh my god.”

Joohyun let out once they got out the car.

 

 

“What?”, Seulgi was surprised to hear her voice. She was still busy getting Hank from the back seat.

 

“Did you forget something at the cafe? We can go back-“

 

“This is YOUR parking slot?”, Joohyun interrupted.

 

“Uh, yeah?”

 

“This is my parking slot!”, Joohyun pointed at the slot right next to Seulgi’s.

 

“How long have you been living here?”

 

Seulgi cutely scratched her head.

“Maybe around 5 or 6 months now I guess.”

 

“Really? I’ve been living here for three years now.”

 

“Woah. That long?”, Seulgi smiled.

 

“Yeah. I can’t believe we’ve only seen each other last Monday.” Joohyun said more to herself.

 

Seulgi smiled again.

 

“Where’s your car though?”, Seulgi asked as she noticed the vacant parking space.

 

“Oh, my friend borrowed it for the rest of the week.”

 

“That’s really nice of you.”

 

Joohyun shrugged. “I just bought it for convenience and when I go back home to visit my parents, but I usually just walk to work since it’s nearby and it saves me on fuel.”

 

They were walking towards the elevator with Hank right beside Joohyun.

 

She looked at the little guy and felt the need to hug him since they’ll be parting in a while. So she carried him in her arms.

 

“Maybe we’ve passed by each other before? I guess I’ll have to thank my friend for letting me babysit Hank then.”

 

“What?”, Joohyun was too busy playing with Hank in her arms.

 

“I said, I’m glad I met you because of Hank.”, Seulgi said while she walked closer and started to caress Hank’s head.

 

Joohyun blushed and didn’t know what to say.

 

Once an elevator door opened, Joohyun hurriedly walked inside with Hank still in her arms. 

 

She felt really shy after hearing Seulgi’s honest thoughts.

 

She wanted to say she felt the same. 

 

Seulgi pressed the 32nd floor before pressing the 35th floor.

 

So Seulgi just lived 3 floors above her.

 

The elevator ride was dead silent. With Hank just sniffing and rubbing his head on Joohyun’s chin and cheek.

 

She tried to sneak a peek at Seulgi using the reflection from the elevator door and saw that the taller girl was looking down at her with a smile.

 

She smiled to herself as she saw this.

 

She pretended to be busy with the Hank until the elevator door opened.

 

 

She was about to step out, but—

 

“Joohyun?”

 

“Yeah?”

 

“Hank?”, Seulgi pointed at the dog still in her arms.

 

“Oh, right.”

 

Seulgi chuckled as Joohyun stepped back and handed him over to her.

 

“Thanks for the dinner. Uhm, I really had a lot of fun with you and Hank, and.. I’m glad I met you too Seulgi.”

 

Joohyun gave a shy smile after her speech.

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

“And you too Hank.”

 

They both laughed at the timing.

 

“Goodnight. See you guys around.”

 

“See you Joohyun.”

 

 

 

Once the elevators door closed, Joohyun let out a high pitch squeal while jumping around.

 

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!!!”

 

“Lord!! Thank you! Thank you!!”

 

 

 

 

“Arf! Arf! Arf!”

 

 

Joohyun felt her body getting cold.

 

 

She slowly and painfully turned around to see Seulgi leaning on the elevator door with Hank in her arms.

 

Seulgi was sporting an amused smile.

 

Joohyun nervously bowed down before turning around and briskly walked away to get to her place.

 

She was just about to type in her door’s passcode when she heard a loud huff from behind.

 

“Geez. I can’t believe you can walk that fast.”

 

 

Joohyun leaned her forehead on the door. Too embarrassed to show her face.

 

Can she even show her face to Seulgi anymore? After what happened. She thought to herself.

 

 

“Joohyun.”

 

“What?”, she mumbled with her face still stuck to her door.

 

“Hey. Please look at me?”

 

She heard Seulgi chuckling.

 

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

She slowly turned around but hid her face behind her hands.

 

“What?”

 

She heard Seulgi laughing for a few seconds before she felt a hand gently removing her hands away from her face.

 

“Please?”, Seulgi softly asked.

 

Joohyun relented but she still had her eyes closed.

 

Seulgi sighed.

 

“I just.. I wanted to say how I really, really had a great time with you today. And I.. would love it if we can maybe, do this again?”

 

Joohyun bit back her smile, but she tightened her eyes even more.

 

 

“Seulgi..”

 

She finally opened them to see the taller girl looking at her fondly.

 

Joohyun looked away before rubbing her arms.

 

“You could’ve just.. called.. or texted me that.. over the phone.. and not.. do this..”

 

“But what’s the fun in that?”, Seulgi playfully retorted.

 

“Arf! Arf! Arf!”

 

Joohyun looked straight and narrowed her eyes at Hank.

 

“Plus, it’s Hank’s last day with me. I’ll be giving him back to his owner tomorrow.”

 

“Arf! Arf!”

 

Joohyun couldn’t resist laughing and petting Hank’s head again as if he was part of their conversation.

 

“So? Uhm, do you want to? Like, hang out again?”

 

Joohyun smiled widely.

 

What the heck.

She lost her pride already when Seulgi saw her acting so crazy, so she leaned up to kiss Seulgi on the cheek.

 

“I would love to.”

 

 

 

 

Joohyun was belting out loud while she was in the shower.

She even energetically sang all the adlibs.

The hell with her neighbours this is her jam.

 

 

 

After double-checking the alarm she set on her phone as she settled in her bed, she went straight to Seulgi’s IG account and watched ALL of the videos posted there. Even replaying some of them twice. 

 

Okay, that was a lie. She played everything thrice.
