Jongkook opens the door and as soon as he does, Cheon Hotteok comes barraging towards him, her tail happily swinging behind her as she lands her paws on his pants, happily woofing about as Jongkook drops his bag on the floor.

"Cheon Hotteok! What did I tell you about jumping people?!" Jihyo's voice echoes from the kitchen which makes Jongkook laugh as the dog immediately sits beside him as Jihyo emerges to help Jongkook out with the dog who was trying to jump into his arms. 

"Hotteok, please behave and go to your fluffy bed, your appa and I have to talk" Jihyo points towards the direction of the hall and the dog moves towards where Jihyo had pointed out

"Ah oppa I'm sorry about that, it's just that eomma suddenly dropped of Hotteok just hours ago saying no one will be at home for a week in Mapo-gu which is why she wants Hotteok to stay here for a week. Apparently, she and appa want to go home to Pohang for a week and Seungmoon's out of the country" she rambles in her apron and Jongkook chuckles at how fast she's talking

"Honey, breath. It's okay, it's not problem, you know I love Hotteok and she can always stay if you want her around" he places a hand on her shoulder and she leans on him

"Thank you oppa" she helps him hang his coat 

"Come on oppa! Remove your shoes alright? I cooked dinner already" she gives him a kiss on the cheek before walking back to the kitchen with him following in tow.

Jongkook watches as Jihyo pours in food into Hotteok's bowl and happily pets her dog's head as Hotteok begins eating the food. Satisfied, she walks back into the dining area to clear up the table

"Jihyo, are you sure?" he asks for the tenth time as he rests his chin on her shoulder and wraps his arm around her slim waist while she clears up the dining table

"I am oppa, didn't I sign up for this when I married you?" she walks towards the sink balancing the used dishes with him still wrapped around her and his chin resting on her shoulder

Hotteok soon appears beside them and nudges her owner's leg, Jihyo then walks over - with Jongkook still hanging on to her- to the back door in the kitchen to let the dog out to the garden.

"Can't I help?" he asks sulkily and she places her hands on top of his before saying her piece "oppa, I know you really want to help but I also know that you must've had a long day so go and take that shower, okay? Besides there's always a next time"

"really you're making me leave just because I'm smelly already?"

From where he got that Jihyo didn't know and as much as she wants to tug on his hair, she won't. She only has two choices when faced with this kind of situation : a) calm him down and assure him some more or b) ignore him and get angry. 

She faces him and rests her chin of his chest, "ah oppa you know I don't mean it like that, I love your smell it doesn't matter whether your sweaty or all clean oppa, I just thought that you'd like a nice shower to relax from the day's stress?"

With her staring at him like that he concedes and she smiled before letting Hotteok in and walks back to her unattended dishes

"But"

"But what oppa?" she turns to him

"But we'll watch a movie later okay?"

"Silly oppa, of course! Now go and don't worry about me" she pushes him out of the kitchen and waves him off towards the bathroom's direction. 

'aish! this man worrying over nothing' she shakes her head and an affectionate smile crosses her lips as she looks down at Hotteok who has found a spot beside her as she was standing by the sink. 

' now where were we? ah yes, I believe I was washing the dishes' she hums pleased and goes back to washing the plates in silence
