even idols need someplace that they can escape to be themselves. a place they can truly show the depths of their colors, and feel safe and comfortable. that's where backdoor comes in.

sneak in through the _backdoor_ and find others of like mind. don't be afraid to let out your kinks, share your experiences with others, or just out and out be yourself. this is a judgement free zone.

and it iss said that there are many doors to other universes that exist alongside our own but are their own completely different entity; where there is a version of ourselves that could differ entirely from what we know. could be fun to slip through these doors as well.

this shouldn't even need to be mentioned but we see it so frequently that it has become a pet peeve. do not mention being part of a roleplay in character. in character means you ARE THAT CHARACTER. you're not roleplaying someone roleplaying someone so don't welcome people to the roleplay ( e.g welcome to the roleplay! ) etc. backdoor is an sns application as well so welcome them as if they've just joined the app! it's more immersive.

there's nothing more annoying than seeing people talk about how they're each finding the roleplay... in character.

activity checks will be held in the last week of each month ( and this is where issues will be addressed that have been brought up, as well as voting for the next au to open! )

WE ARE A THEMED ROLEPLAY. THAT MEANS THAT THERE WILL BE MATURE CONTENT. WE DO ASK THAT ANYTHING VISUALLY GRAPHIC IS PLACED IN THE RATED GROUP, BUT WRITTEN IS ACCEPTABLE OUTSIDE OF THE GROUP. BECAUSE OF THIS, ALL MUSES AND MUNS MUST BE OF AGE.

INTERNATIONALLY - THE YOUNGEsT WE ALLOW IS ANYONE TURNING 18 WITHIN THE MONTH.

respect. it isn't hard to respect the staff team and your fellow roleplayers. keep all ic drama plotted and structured ( keep us aware of it ), or out of character. if you have an issues with anyone in the roleplay, in or out of character, please come speak to the admin.

we also ask that coming into the roleplay, you cast aside all bad juju you make have experienced in previous roleplays. this is a chance for a fresh start. do not bring up past drama you may have with others. if you find someone you have beef with, inform the admin and ignore them the best you can, but don't open old wounds. there will be plenty of others for you to interact with and if you think it necessary, the admin may allow for you to block them for your own comfort.

be inclusive. talk to everyone. don't just find one or two people that you like talking to the most ( either because they're friends you've brought along, your lover, or your bias etc ) and stick to them. cliques are boring and they make people feel left out and ignored. comment on new posts, drop a welcome on introduction pots, spark up conversation. you just never know where it might lead and you might be surprised by the friendships, or relationships, that you form. chasing biases is bad, mmkay.

all ual preferences are loved and welcome. and you can change this around between aus, but please... if you say you are a certain uality... stick to it. we've all see the bi guys that only chase after . same with bi girls. if you say you're bi/pan or in anyway interested in both genders, we expect you to act like it. you will be pulled up on this if it becomes a problem.

dating ban for the main ( non-au ) au; one month. this is to make sure you actually take the time getting to know someone. admit it, we've all seen couples form in roleplays after a day of talking to each other and the majority don't last.

marriage and pregnancy is allowed. mpreg/lespreg is premitted in any of the aus besides the main, non-au. you may, however, adopt/find a surrogate, etc. pregnancies will be in real time no matter the au.

we have an overall preference towards you being open or poly when it comes to relationships - with more emphasis on switching up partners across aus. however, if you wish to stick to one partner exclusively ( either in the main au, or across every single one ) we do accept that. but it will become a problem if everyone ends up doing this.

moving relationships allowed! make sure to state in your pm to the base aff acount.

participation points! events will happen at least somewhat frequently; ranging to long roleplay based events, to simple little games. there will also be fun themed profile picture events and such as well! you earn points by participating in these events!

you can use points to request things in the roleplay; got a specific event you'd love to see? use your points to ensure it happens. a full list of everything you'll be able to spend your points on can be found in the admin group on the featured post! and yes, character changes both temporary and permanent are on this list.

points are totaled by writer. but will be broken down by each character they play.

multiple muses are accepted, however, you must speak with the admin first, and you cannot pick someone from a group you are already playing. also, picking up a new muse will cost participation points and you must have been active in the roleplay for two weeks. or you most recent character must have been active for two weeks. p4ssw0rd: your fave rule.

temporary ( tcc ) and permanent ( cc ) character changes are permitted but will cost points to do so to prevent members from abusing this. speak to the admin.

triggers. either keep anything you think might be too triggering for others in private posts/pms, or mark it clearly in the first post, at the very top. make it very clear what the trigger is.

closed roleplay. so please do not add anyone that hasn't been introduced and isn't on the admin's friendlists. we will be checking friendlists regularly after activity checks.

inform the admin if you wish to take a hiatus or leave. don't just up and disappear from groups/friendlists without informing us. it's rude and you will be put on the banned from the roleplay list. in order to make sure lists are constantly up to date, we need to know who is, and isn't still part of the roleplay.

welcome everyone. that you can, at least. we don't expect you to drop a comment on everyone's self intro posts but at least make an effort. if we see some new faces ( the popular ones, specifically ) getting 10+ comments, and then rarer seen faces only getting 1 or 2, we will not be pleased.

check the reservations and masterlist to ensure that your pick isn't already taken!

fill out the application! and send a private message to base aff account stating who you have applied as. make sure you list if you have a moving relationship in this pm.

await a replay. we try to get back to everyone within 24 hours. you will recieve a pm reply with the next steps towards completing your application!

and that's it!

all aus will be voted for by the community. at the start of each month, a post will be made asking you to either pm your au contenders for that month, or comment on the post. you'll have until the final week to get your entries in. each writer gets to submit one free au suggestion each month, but may use earned points to throw in additional suggestions.

during that months activity check, a poll will be made with all the suggestions from the nomination period and you'll have until the end of the activity check ( one week ) to vote. you may use earned points to vote for additional aus beyond the one vote.

the au that wins the vote will be created on the first of the following month, along with the application to update our information!

after a few aus are live and established, this may be changed to every couple of months to slow down how many aus are opened so it doesn't become overwhelming.

you are not required to join every single au that is opened. joining the au groups is done through request. when a new au is opened, a post will be made and you simply need to react using the appropriate emoji to either be added to the group or to not. you can request to be added at a later date also! you can self request to join these group so its entirely up to you.

as you can imagine, with multiple aus, these kind of become important. make a photo album in the profiles group and create your profiles on images. use one image to depict each au you are in. you can start this with your general au profile. check out the admins if you're stumped.

if you wanna stick to the exact same person across every single au, that's your choice, but you can also use this as a way to experience others without it being cheating or creating drama. the aus are all seperate from each other.

this means that each au is individual to itself. you will not know about the other universes versions of you, even if you are the one roleplaying them, in any other au. the doors are a metaphor for accessing the aus, but this doesn't mean you know of these universes. you're simply playing different versions of your character across whichever aus you decide to join. do not mention you alternate selves!!!
