They both grew up in the same neighborhood where international citizens often live.
One is raised by lawyers and one is raised by chefs. They were both young when their world met, The latter's parents, needing some legal help to settle their citizenship there. 

"Hi, I'm Lisa" the skimpy one tried her best to speak in English

"Hi Lisa, I'm Roseanne Park but my Korean name is Park Chaeyoung" 

"I like Chaeyoung" 

"Okay then, you can call me whatever you want" 

"Okay, Chaeyoungah" 

"Wanna play with my video recorder?" 

It was their earliest memory, well, also on how they met. After Lisa's parents settled everything, Melbourne became their home and Chaeyoung became her best friend she ever had. 
They went to the same grade school, middle school, high school, and hell, they even went to college together. It was like they were destined to be together and not even their parents could stop them from seeing each other even on weekends and apparently, Lisa became Alice's, Rosie's older sister, little sister too. Chaeyoung coming into Lisa's dance class and the latter into chaeyoung's music classes. 

And of course, bestfriends growing up with each other means they were together through thick and thin. Sneaking out to attend parties, having their first crushes and so on. They were the exact opposites when it comes to love though, Lisa fells fast and hard while Chaeyoung, she's particular to any person she likes. They both pretty much experience both ways, girls and boys. Their parents even accused them of dating each other back in high school and well, they ended up acting that they were disgusted by each other. 

"I will never ever fall in love with this porky pig" 

"As if I will with you, player" 

That apparently, lead to one of their misunderstandings. 

"You're a pretty porky pig though"

"You just fall in love fast, That's why"

After college, they managed to land a job in an entertainment company which was the biggest rival in Melbourne. They both applied at the same companies but well, things happens. YGE, a company that specializes in dance got Lisa while SME, got Chaeyoung as their apprentice in producing. They pretty much got busy after they were hired but nonetheless, they always make time to meet every weekend for updates with each other. 

 

" 'rents will be having a barbeque dinner this weekend" Chaeyoung informed her bestfriend

 

"Okay, will be there" Lisa replied, still focused on her phone. They're always like this though, just existing with each other. Not doing much "What's the occasion?"

 

"The Firm's 20th year" 

 

"Really? Oh my god, It's been so long"

 

"I know, We're getting old too" 

 

"Nah, I'm still young, I don't know about you"

 

"You're literally a month younger than me. What are you talking about?" 

 

"Whatever" 

 

"There will be lots of new lawyers around. Try to behave"  

 

"I'm always behaved" Lisa argued

 

"Yeah? How about that one time when you yelled I'm so gayyyy when we had that 10th anniv?" 

 

"Oh geez, I thought we already talked about not getting it out of the grave?" 

 

"Well..." 

 

"I was just so gay at that time" 

 

"Doesn't change a thing right now" 

 

"I know" 

 

"So? Anyone getting your attention nowadays?" Lisa inquired

 

"Nope. I'm literally in the studio every time and the only person I talk to is Chanyeol"

 

"Urgh, your company " 

 

"So are yours" 

 

"Touche" 

 

"But not my workmates though"

 

"Of course you would say that" 

 

"Meh, No one's meeting my standards yet" 

 

"By mean, any person that breathes" 

 

"Oh wow, glad you think of me like that, Roseanne" 

 

"Why? It's true though" as Chaeyoung stood up and headed to her piano that's nicely placed in the corner of her room 

 

"I don't know, I feel like I'm done with all those things" Lisa focused her attention on her bestfriend that's playing random tunes

 

"Yeah? What do you mean?" the blonde asked without glancing 

 

I've watched you play different types of piano, in different places, times, occasions, and yet, only this time I found you so beautiful. Lisa wide-eyed as she realized her thoughts.  It can't be. Oh dear God, No, not again. Not her.  

 

"Hey!" Chaeyoung called out one more time and throwing a crumpled piece of paper to LIsa "You're scaring me" 

 

"I-- what?" 

 

"Why are you looking at me like that?" 

 

"Huh? Like what?"

 

"Like you've seen a ghost or something" 

 

"Nothing, I just remembered something that I really need to do right now" as Lisa stood up from Chaeyoung's bean bag

 

"What about our pizza night? It's your turn to pay now" 

 

"Just use my card, you know the deets. I'm gonna go now" Lisa quickly headed to the door 

 

"Weird" as chaeyoung stood up and grabbed her macbook to order

 

Meanwhile, Lisa's heart is beating so fast that she can clearly hear it inside her head. It can't be. No. She keeps repeating it to herself. Maybe it was just a sudden change of mood or something. 

And well, we all know then, that best friends often develop feelings for the other and it seems like Lisa isn't an exception. 

 

 

Barbeque Night

 

As a daughter and sister of lawyers, Chaeyoung can't really argue with her family in any matter. She already used her card by taking an art degree in college so she pretty much thinks that she owes it to her parents to obey them, at least. and to add to that, she's undeniably gay. 

So here she is now, entertaining everyone that she can. Some of them are already familiar to her since they've been working with her family for years. The night's even worse when Lisa didn't show up for the sole reason that she has something important to do. She's on her second glass of wine already and it's not even thirty minutes yet since they started. After talking to the nosy lawyer where she was again, every time, asked why she didn't take up law, SHe finally had it. She doesn't know why her patience' cut is so short right now. Maybe because Lisa wasn't by her side to dodge all of them. 

 

"I feel you" a soft voice echoed through the balcony where Chaeyoung was on her phone while sipping her glass of wine "Hi, I just came out of the bathroom and I saw you here" 

 

"Oh, Hi!" as Chaeyoung straighten up her stance

 

"I'm Jennie Kim, by the way" The brunette held out her hand

 

"Hello, the name's Roseanne" as Rosie shook her hand "Park. Roseanne Park. but you probably already know that since you're here and okay, I'm gonna stop" 

 

Cute. Jennie thought. "Yeah, Alice may mentioned you once and then" 

 

"Oh, so you're here with Alice?" as Chaeyoung moved aside to make room for Jennie

 

"I'm kinda here because of my family"

 

"Uhm?" Rosie replied, not really having an idea

 

"I'm from Kim's Law Firm" 

 

"Oh...Right! Yeah, I remember! My dad once asked me to bring files to your firm. Nice office, by the way" 

 

"Meh, not until you see our stock room" 

 

"Urgh, so does my Dad's" as they both laughed "What do you mean by that again?" Rosie asked

 

"The I feel you?" 

 

"Yeah"

 

"The feeling of hiding and annoyance from the colleagues of the family" 

 

"Yep, that" Rosie answered in a tight lip smile

 

"You're not getting annoyed by me, right?" 

 

"Oh no, I'm not. Definitely not" God, how can you annoy me when I can just stare at your face whole day. The blonde thought

 

"Nice hair, by the way" Jennie commented 

 

"Oh yeah? Thanks? It's been three years now" as Rosie brushed her hair by her hand

 

"Wow, strong scalp" 

 

"I don't even know how but yeah, thankfully" 

 

"I would never" Jennie laughed

 

"and why is that, Atty.Kim?" 

 

"I don't know, will never have time for maintenance" 

 

"Point-taken" 

 

"You're interesting" 

 

"Oh wow, that's a first" 

 

"and I hope there will be no second one?" 

 

"What do you mean?" 

 

"Can I take you out for coffee?" Jennie answered bravely

 

"Oh, brave" 

 

"Well, I got a thing or two for being a lawyer"

"Yeah, I do look like I'm confident about this but I'm pretty much sweating right now since I am literally just a guest at your family's dinner yet here I am asking you out but I don't have any choice since I don't know when I can see you again --" 

 

"Okay" 

 

"Okay what? Okay, I understand your statement and you should leave or Okay as in..."

 

"Okay, Let's get coffee" 

 

Jennie sighed "Oh Thank God, I just, couldn't let go of you" 

 

"How about some few wines?" 

 

"Sure, Lead the way" as Jennie motioned to her
