Rolling Dumpling (and Feelings too)

Description


Before they became Dr. Miyawaki Sakura and Professor Lee Chaeyeon, the ones who introduced Professor Kang Hyewon and Professor Kwon Eunbi to each other, they were simply Sakura and Chaeyeon, a medical student and a graduate student trying to make it through University.

(The prequel to One Plus 1 = 2) 

 

Foreword

 

"... Hi." Sakura finally said, rubbing her eyes. She squinted at the person before her, head tilted slightly. "Chaeyeon? Am I dreaming?" 

Chaeyeon arched a brow, stepping closer to her and letting the door slide close. "No? It's only 6 PM, Saku-chan. Did you just leave the hospital?" She asked gently, a palm pressing against Sakura's forehead.

Sakura relished in Chaeyeon's gentle touch, wondering if this was real again. "Yeah." She muttered. "But I'll be back again the next day, and the day after that, and the night after that... I'll be there forever." Chaeyeon's hand slipped from her forehead to her cheek, the back of her hand pressing against her skin now. Sakura considered melting into Chaeyeon’s hand, except with her current state of being she might end up toppling over to the side if she tried, so she pulled up a small smile and tutted at the latter instead.

"You know, if you're checking my temperature, that's the most ineffective way to see if I have a fever."

Chapter 1: Loved everything about this so much… even though chaekkura may be divorced irl now… its nice to read about them this way

Chapter 1: Ohh, I was so giddy when I'd seen that you posted a new work. Even better that it's a prequel to One Plus 1 = 2. I'm a er for shared universes and expanding the little stories between characters, so I was really happy to see that our "stable" couple from the Kangbi professors fic turned out to have a pretty interesting story of their own too! Sakura being the most relatable smart dork and Chaeyeon being the levelheaded angel (but still a dork too) never fails to amuse me. Their relationship progressed so naturally and sweetly that it feels almost like I'm one with their emotions, haha.

On a side note, I also LOVE how you included other characters — named and unnamed — in their world (if only the Yulje Imposters were a thing in real life, sigh) and made the story feel... more alive? This AU's Yoojung, Daehwi, Kaeun, and Dongpyo now own my heart as much as the real ones do. Hyewon being here as the best bud also feels like meeting an old friend for real, all the foreshadowing and inside jokes made me appreciate this story a lot more. My favorite part would probably be the lil' conversation Sakura had with Wonyoung, what with the vulnerability and honestly of it all; if ever you would consider expanding this universe with other stories in the future, I hope you can shine more light on the other girls' (Annyeongz, Minyul, Nakhii, Ssamyen) stories... but really, with your writing skill, I would be down for anything from you.

Chapter 1: This is really good. It's been a while since I've read an amazing kkuchaen oneshot. It was really nice to see the progress of their relationship. It was also nice to know a storyline before One Plus 1 = 2 (which is also amazing). Thank you for this author-nim.

Chapter 1: It was a long time since I read a full blown kkuchaen oneshot. Thank you for this, for writing kkuchaen in a beautiful manner. I love how their friendship blossomed into a romantic level. Slowly, and endearingly sweet, it was also inspiring how they waited for each other’s right time. I hope everyone could experience that, loving patiently through time. Thank you author
