TITLE: family over a date
SUMMARY: In which Mi Young crashes in on her parents' Valentine's plans.
When Ji Hyo roused from her slumber, she can vaguely feel light kisses being planted from the length of her arm up to her neck. A kiss here, a little nip there. She held back the shiver that threatened to sliver down her spine when she felt her husband’s warm breath tickle that particular spot beneath her ear.
“I know you’re awake, love,” he whispered in that husky, morning voice of his that never failed to make Ji Hyo’s heart flutter. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
She hummed and turned to face her husband. “Good morning, Jong Kook oppa. Happy Valentine’s Day to you too,” she greeted with a proper kiss to his lips.
When they pulled away from each other, Jong Kook gathered Ji Hyo in his arms and settled them down in a cuddle.
“Is there anything you have in mind that you want to do today?” he asked while his hand sneaked under her shirt to the soft skin of her back.
Ji Hyo sighed, “Well, I —“
She was interrupted when a knock resounded from their bedroom door.
“Good morning, parents! Are you both decent? Because if not, I’ll come back later!” a voice yelled from behind the door.
Jong Kook and Ji Hyo shared a look before they both burst out laughing.
“Yah, you cheeky little rascal. Come in here!” Jong Kook yelled back.

“Why are you so energetic today, ddal-ah?” Ji Hyo asked with a fondly confused smile.
“Because it’s Valentine’s!” Mi Young announced excitedly. “Which reminds me, Happy Valentine’s Day to both of you!” She reached up to kiss her father’s cheek and lied back down to kiss her mother’s. Once satisfied, she settled into the crook of Ji Hyo’s shoulder and snuggled closer to the older woman.
“You shouldn’t have come so early, gongju. We were just about to give you a Valentine’s dongsaeng,” Jong Kook couldn’t help but tease, enjoying the way his daughter’s face scrunched up in disgust.
“Ew, appa! I’m too young to hear about that!” Mi Young protested, playfully pushing her father away. “There shan’t be any kind of frolicking between you two today.”
“Shan’t?” He snorted. “Where’d you learn that word, Mi Young-ah?”
“Somin imo taught me it, she said it will help me sound fancy,” she replied with a satisfied nod.
“Ah, that makes sense,” Ji Hyo chimed in in agreement.
“Wait, what do you mean by no frolicking, Mi Young-ah?” Jong Kook questioned, belatedly catching on to what his daughter previously said. “How else are your eomma and I going to celebrate Valentine’s?”
Then, Mi Young’s face returned to the previously disgusted expression, “Firstly, ew again, appa. And secondly, I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with both of you this year! My two most favorite people in the world!”
“Didn’t you tell me last week I
