"Baby?"

She looked at me with her worried eyes.

I know.

But I don't want to think about it.

She's here, that's more important.

"Seul.. look at me."

I closed my eyes when she held my jaw to make me look at her.

"I-I may forget again.."

"I don't care. I'll stay here."

She smiled sadly. "Baby.. I know how much you loved me, but I don't want you getting hurt anymore."

I held her hands. "Hyun.. please.. just.. just let me stay, alright? I don't care if I get hurt. I am staying here. I want to keep on loving you."

I stood up to let her know the conversation is already done.

Before leaving the room, I looked at her once again, crying silently on the couch.

"I meant every word I said, when I said that I love you, I meant that I will love you forever."

Day 1.

I woke up early.

She's not here.

I panicked and immediately got up, almost knocking the bedside table. I checked the living room, and kitchen.

She's not here.

No, no, no. She didn't go outside, didn't she?

"JOOHYUN!"

I was desperate. I was about to go back to my room and have a quick change to head outsude when I spotted her quietly sitting in a chair in our balcony.

The fast beating of my heart slowly subsided. She's safe, thank God.

I slowly made my way to the balcony, testing the waters.

"..Hyun?"

She looked at me, and I immediately saw that familiar look.

Confusion.

"W-Who are you?"

I bit my lip, trying hard not to break down.

The very last time she remembered, it lasted for 3 days.

It wasn't like that this time then.

"I-I'm your caretaker."

I saw her giving out a relieved sigh, but the confusion in her eyes are still present.

"I-I was sleeping in the same bed as yours.. why?"

"You were afraid last night, and asked me to accompany you."

She tentatively nodded before looking at the sky once again.

"I'm sorry.. are you new?"

I stayed silent, afraid sobs will come out once I open my mouth.

She looked at me once again, offering a kind smile. She gestured the chair in front on her.

"Take a seat, if you're not busy."

I slowly sat on the chair, avoiding her eyes.

This scenario already happened a lot of times, but it still hurts.

It ing hurts.

"I'm sorry.. I assume we already met a few days ago.. but as you can see.. I'm sick."

I inhaled deep before facing her.

"I-It's fine."

She looked relieved to see me talking. She gave me a smile.

That smile I fell inlove with.

The smile that keeps me going.

The smile that keeps me on believing.

"So.. what's your name?"

I fought a sob once again.

Sometimes I just feel that I can't do it anymore.

But I love her.

Just why?

Why her?

Why us?

Day 10.

"Seulgi! Seulgi!"

I was folding the clothes in the living room when I heard her panicked voice coming from the kitchen.

I immediately ran to check what was happening when I saw her crouching down, a spatula still at hand.

A pan was burning in the stove.

I immediately looked for the fire e
