I might never be your knight in shining armor

She was crying. Again. She doesn't even want to but her tears were stubborn as hell. She hated crying. She really do. But sometimes, she just couldn't stop it.

She thought she's strong like her Jisoo-unnie, reading hate comments like a pro, but as she read each words and curses, it felt like knife stabbing her repeatedly. It hurts so much, she couldn't help but cry.

Of course, they'll say she doesn't deserve a solo. Of course they'll say she's hogging all the limelight. Of course they'll say she's the favorite. Of course.

"Why do you even read it if it only makes you cry in the end?"

Jennie turned around and saw Bobby glaring at her as he approached her. She's been hiding here in YGE's rooftop. She quickly wiped her tears away and put her phone in her pocket.

Bobby sighed as he finally stood beside her. He grabbed her hand and put something in there. She frowned and looked up at him.

"It's powercap. I can't find any milk flavored ice cream in GS25 so I just bought that. It's yogurt tho," Bobby said and he even looked away, clearing his throat as if he's suddenly embarrassed.

Jennie couldn't hide her smile as she opened the packaging.

"Thank you, Jiwon-ah," she said, gently elbowing him to make him look at her. He just nodded but Jennie knew he saw the corners of his lips pulled up into a small smile.

And Jennie realized, sometimes you don't even need knight-in-shining-armors. Just someone who would look for your comfort food when you're sad and would stay beside you is already fine.

I might never be the one you take home to mother

"Oh my God," Jennie muttered and stopped Bobby by grabbing him to hide in the nearest wall beside them. She just finished rehearsing for Solo's dance practice and Bobby offered to walk her home (he actually watched her rehearse, making their crazy dancers tease them a lot).

"Why? What?" Bobby asked, peeking at the corridor but Jennie pulled him back.

"Yah, stop. It's my mom," Jennie whispered, making Bobby frown. "She shouldn't see you," Jennie added and Bobby's brows furrowed more. "She'll probably think I'm dating you or something. It'll be so troublesome," Jennie added and she didn't noticed how Bobby smirked.

"Oh, you know I like trouble, Jen," Bobby said and before Jennie could understand what he meant by that, he was already walking away from her and towards her mom. Her eyes widen.

"Yah Kim Jiwon," she whispered and tried to grabbed him but he's already out of her reach. "Ugh so annoying," she grunted and was about to run towards him when she stopped, seeing her mother approached him. This is a disaster. She quickly walked towards them.

"Omma!" she shouted and quickly grabbed her mom's arm, forcing a smile on her face.

"Oh, Jennie, I was just asking Bobby if he saw you," her mom said and Jennie's eyes widen, eyeing Bobby who was grinning. The nerve of this guy.

"How did you even know him?" Jennie asked and her mother smiled and patted her hand.

"Jisoo introduced him to me," her mom answered and smiled at Bobby. While she was so dumbfounded. "Anyway, it was nice seeing you. I'll bring you some homemade pizza sometimes," she even added and Bobby grinned wider at that.

"Deh, kamsahmida," Bobby said and even bowed. Jennie rolled her eyes and dragged her mother away.

"He's a great guy, Nini," her mom said and Jennie stopped, eyeing her mother. "Jisoo said he's your friend," she added with a knowing smile, making Jennie frowned. "I know, I know. He's just a friend who happened to be a boy but he's not your boyfriend. I get it," she even said it in a teasing manner, making Jennie roll her eyes.

She knew it. Her mom will not stop teasing her about him. That's why she didn't want to introduce them to each other.

And I might never be the one who brings you flowers

"What the is this?" Jennie asked, her brows furrowed as she eyed the small pot Kim Jiwon placed on her table here in one of the studio she's currently occupying in YGE.

"It's hyacinth?" Bobby unsurely answered and Jennie rolled her eyes.

"I know it's hyacinth, it's my favorite flowers. I mean, why are they in a pot?" Jennie asked and Bobby chuckled.

"Oh that, I thought of giving you flowers to congratulate you for your solo debut. Solo is doing great on charts," Bobby said, smiling at her with his eyes becoming so small, Jennie couldn't help but smile back at him.

"Thank you, I guess. But why is it in a pot? You could just get a bouquet or something," Jennie said, inspecting the flowers in question.

"Well, Jen, bouquets wither after a few days or weeks. But this? It will live as long as you take care of it. Isn't it interesting?" Bobby said, sitting beside her as Jennie pouted.

"You know I don't know a thing about plants," Jennie said, elbowing him, making him laugh.

"Then research it, you babbo. I trust you to let this hyacinth stay alive. You're Jennie Kim, of course you could do it," Bobby stated and Jennie just rolled her eyes.

But in the end, she did research and yes, the hyacinth bulb may have come off already, but the plant? It's still alive and well in her bedroom window. And she couldn't help but smile whenever she saw it. Bobby and his weird gifts.

I might never be the hands you put your heart in

"Hey Kim Jennie! How could you?!" Bobby shouted and grinned, making s looked at him. He shrugged his shoulders and moved away from them. He's at their dorm right now and yes, he's currently talking to Jennie over the phone.

"You're so loud, Kim Jiwon," Jennie answered and Bobby could imagine her rolling her eyes already.

"Yah, I thought I'm your friend. Why didn't you even told me that you're dating EXO Kai?" he asked, a grin still on his face.

"Excuse me?! I told you I'm going on a date with him! Remember? I called you even tho I was in Paris that time?" Jennie also shouted and he couldn't help but shook his head.

Of course, he knew about that. She was so excited and nervous, she kept babbling over the phone over what to wear or what to say. In the end, Bobby just told her to be herself because if a guy doesn't accept her for who she is, then he isn't worth the time and effort.

"Yeah, I remember. But I thought it was just in Paris. You know, a France fling or something?" Bobby asked, scratching his head.

"What?! Are you saying I'm having a fling whenever I'm overseas?" Jennie shrilled, making Bobby laughed.

"You know what I mean, Jen," he said and sighed, suddenly becoming serious. "Are you happy?" he asked and he almost stopped himself. Is he overdoing it? Is he overstepping some line? But his worries died down when he heard Jennie laughed.

"I know it. You're just worried, aren't you?" Jennie asked and Bobby nodded even though she couldn't really see her. "I'm happy, Jiwon-ah. I'm so so happy," she said and Bobby could really hear the happiness in her voice, it made him smile a little.

"Then it's fine. As long as you're happy," Bobby answered.

"I am. Thank you Jiwon-ah. You're the best," Jennie said using her aegyo voice, making Bobby cringed.

"Yah stop that. I'm hanging up," he laughingly said before ending the call. He stared a little to long at her name on his contact before sighing.

"So much for being the best," he murmured and sighed again.

And sometimes, even though you're the best for someone, it's still isn't enough for them to have their heart.

Or the arms that hold you any time you want them

Kim Jiwon has been calling for the nth time today and it's always going straight to voicemail. And he's getting so frustrated. He's so close to actually getting a plane ticket to Seoul. Why did this even happen when he's so far away in Japan?

"Hey, take it easy. Maybe Jennie needs some time alone," Jinhwan said, noticing how restless Bobby is. They're currently sharing a hotel room.

"Hyung, she's not like that. She's probably hiding somewhere so no one could see her cry," Bobby stated, busy redialing Jennie's number again.

Jinhwan couldn't help but sadly smiled at his dongsaeng.

"You really like her that much huh," Jinhwan said, stopping Bobby from tapping his phone. He looked at his hyung, bewildered and obviously confused, it made Jinhwan laughed.

"Daebak, you don't even know it? Babbo, you like her, it's so obvious," Jinhwan said as he tried his best to stop laughing.

"Hyung, I don't like her like that. I'm her friend. And she's dating Kai. I mean, she used to date that Kai. Ugh, their breakup is all over the news today, she's probably so devastated," Bobby ranted and ignored his hyung who was still busy laughing.

Jinhwan finally composed himself and stopped laughing. He approached Bobby and sat beside him.

"Be honest with me, Jiwon-ah. If Jennie didn't date Kai, would you date her instead?" Jinhwan asked, a smirk on his face, making Bobby pushed him away.

"Yah, we're not like that. She's a friend, hyung. Jeez, do girls and boys can't be friends without catching feelings with each other?" Bobby asked, obviously annoyed. Jinhwan shrugged his shoulders.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night," Jinhwan retorted and Bobby looks like he wanted to answer back but Jinhwan raised his hand to stop him. "And if you can't contact Jennie, why not try Jisoo?" he asked, Bobby's eyes widen, obviously not thinking of Jinhwan's suggestion.

And Jinhwan watched as his dongsaeng talked to Jisoo over the phone and probably planning something for Blackpink's unofficial leader. He sighed and shook his head. Not liking her, my as*.
