"Momo, you literally just called me a couple of minutes ago. Why the hell are you calling me again?" The orange-haired girl asked through the phone, her voice that's usually full of cuteness now filled with annoyance.

 

"You're supposed to be having your time in the salon with Mina to manage your damaged hair!"

 

Her bestfriend, Momo, had recently bleached her hair — their other bestfriend, Mina, who is also known to be Momo's long-time crush, bleached her hair so there's the reason why the oldest of them three is now blonde as well — and since it's been a long time since she's done that, she asked the younger blonde on a date to go to the salon together to take care of their hair and prevent it from getting fried.

 

"I know, but I just need to make sure that my baby Boo is still alive and breathing—"

 

Already knowing what the blonde was going to say all too well, Sana didn't waste another second and immediately cut her off. "You said the same thing earlier! Can you please stop doubting my capabilities of taking care of Boo for the whole day? Why'd you even asked me to watch over him if you're gonna be like this?"

 

So, the thing is, Momo got this new cute little pup, Boo, and the salon that she goes at doesn't allow pets inside so Sana woke up to loud barks filling her house and her two blonde friends sitting on her couch, sheepishly — or hesitantly — asking her to watch over the small yet active pup.

 

Momo tried to suppress a scoff but it had already left her lips before she could even do so, causing Sana to gasp audibly, seemingly offended with the short yet stingy reply of her bestfriend, so before the orange-haired girl can protest, the blonde decided to speak her thoughts out.

 

"Okay, first of all, I didn't have any choice. Jeong and Nayeon are on their honeymoon and Jihyo's on a week-long business trip abroad. You were the only one available. I certainly wouldn't have asked you if the others were here."

 

She actually pondered on whether she should lie to the girl and give an excuse such as 'it's because I'm worried about you being lethargic after running after Boo for the day' or just straight up tell her that it's because she at babysitting but she figured that the younger girl would get hurt either way so she decided to just go for the latter and be honest; It's better to be honest than comfort someone with a lie, after all.

 

"Okay, I'm utterly offended. Why am I the last option?" There wasn't any hint of anger on the younger one's tone but from the way she said it, the older was so sure that she's pouting real hard right now.

 

"Kookeu was covered in glitters last time when you were asked to watch over him." The blonde states matter-of-factly, the memory of Nayeon, Kookeu's mother and the oldest one in their friend group, freaking out with how her baby looked like a visual representation of TWICE's 'I'm Gonna Be A Star' was still quite fresh.

 

"We were playing makeover!" Sana was quick to defend herself but Momo was just as quick to retort, "A makeover is supposed to make you look better, that totally wasn't what happened to Kookeu."

 

Defeated, a huff escaped the younger one's lips. "Alright, I'm not the best babysitter, but I'm trying! Besides, Boo and I really click together well. I bet you'll have a hard time prying him off me later when you come to pick him up. He adores me! Right, Boo—"

 

Sana looked down, expecting the look of approval from the said puppy but Boo wasn't there. She looked around but there was no trace of the cute little guy and that's when realization hit her like a truck — baby Boo is missing.

 

The girl looked blankly at the leash in her hand, she was about to put it on the pup but the blonde called her as she was about to do so, now she regrets carrying Boo all the way there instead of just using the leash to walk him there.

 

What's worse is that they're at the park, it is a large area and it would certainly be hard to find the little pup. Her eyes doubled its size and her heart started ramming in her chest as panic took over her.

 

Oh, Momo's surely going to kill her.

 

In her whole years of existence, never did she knew that she's gonna die in the hands of her bestfriend for this reason — but she insists that it's the blonde's fault for calling just when she's about to put his leash on him, she can't be the only one to blame.

 

"Looks like he doesn't agree with you," Momo comments when he didn't hear the response from her baby.

 

Hearing the voice of her potential killer made Sana jolt in surprise — or fear, who knows?

 

"W-what? Of course, he agrees," she let out a nervous laugh and then felt herself shaking uncontrollably, wanting to just go and run around to look for the little guy.

 

"Oh? You wanna poop behind the bush, Boo? Okay, let's get your cute freshened up. Bye, Mo, gotta go!" She hanged up, not even waiting for the older to reply.

 

Turning her phone off to prevent Momo from calling her again, she placed it hastily inside the pocket of her jeans and made a run for her life, moving at full speed, eyes wandering everywhere, hoping to catch even just a glimpse of Boo and reassure herself that there's still tomorrow for her.

 

Minutes had passed yet Boo was still nowhere to be found. Slightly losing hope, Sana let herself fall on the soft grass, she was breathing heavily as she had been running for the past minutes.

 

She decided to open her phone and just tell Momo what happened, tears were already forming in her eyes, she can't believe that she's been this irresponsible, and just as a lone tear's about to fall, she heard an all too familiar bark, causing her to jolt up.

 

All the negative thoughts that filled her mind earlier were flushed down as she felt a sudden surge of a sense of relief when she spotted the fried-chicken-looking puppy but was quite confused as to why was there a tennis ball in his mouth but of course, she dismissed that confusion and was about to run to him, and possibly squish the pup in a tight hug, when he suddenly approached a stranger beautiful girl, giving her the ball while his tail cutely waggles nonstop wait — were they playing fetch?

 

Yes, Sana surely does want to go and grab Boo and never let him go but something about the way the beautiful girl looked so soft and cute as she giggled when she picked Boo up and started getting her face by the enthusiastic puppy got the Japanese stuck in her place.

 

She looked at the girl in awe as she managed to look like a goddess, the sunlight that's gingerly hitting her face making her look ethereal as it highlights her perfect features — Sana thinks is a hundred percent sure that she's got a big fat crush on this girl and so she decided to do something about it.

 

"Relax, Sana. Since when did you start getting nervous around girls?" She asked herself when she felt her palms starting to sweat as she walked towards the two.

 

"You're Minatozaki Sana, you got this." Rubbing her palms on her jeans, she took one last breath before stepping in front of the girl, only then she realized their height difference.

 

"OH MY GOD, SHE'S TALLER THAN ME! PERFECT HEIGHT TO CUDDLE! I WONDER WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE EMBRACED BY HER—"

 

"Uh, miss? Hello? You good?" Sana was drowning in her thoughts when the girl that is now actively attached to her mind waved a hand in front of her.

 

"Oh, uh, sorry, what was that?" The orange-haired girl couldn't help but facepalm mentally, silently cursing herself for her awkward reply. "What the hell was that? Gosh, you're better than this Minatozaki!"

 

The girl stared at her with an unreadable expression on her face and after blinking a couple of times, she let out an airy chuckle, sounding quite playful. "I said, do you need something? You've been standing there for a few seconds so..." She trailed off, not really knowing what else to say, she's not really that fond of talking to strangers.

 

"Oh.. well..." Sana doesn't know why she's acting like this but really, how can someone even manage to think with this beauty in front of you?

 

Lucky them though, the awkward atmosphere was broken when Boo barked all of the sudden, wriggling against the beautiful girl's grasp, seemingly wanting Sana to carry her so the girl relents and passed the puppy to her, the little pup immediately her face as she got a hold of him.

 

 

"Cute." The girl muttered under her breath as she watched the cute interaction between the two, their cuteness pulling a tug on her lips, and without her knowing, a smile was already present on her face.

 

"Hm? Did you say something?" The Japanese asked, her head slightly tilting to the side, making her look cuter without even meaning to — she sure is a natural cutie.

 

Sana wasn't sure if she was just imaging things or did she really saw a faint blush dusting the girl's cute cheeks; She wanted to double-check but the girl slightly ducked her head, hand sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck.

 

"I said... I guess he really likes you.." The brunette comments, looking at how the puppy excitedly wags its tail as he rubs his face against the orange-haired girl.

 

Maybe it's from all of her frustrations earlier or maybe it's because of this pretty girl smiling at her, probably both, Sana's not really sure why but her emotions had caught up with her and before she could even get her emotions in check, tears were already cascading down her face like a waterfall.

 

Seeing her cry, of course, got the other girl into panic mode. "Oh my god, why are you crying? Gosh, sorry, did I say something wrong? Did I offend you?"

 

With her tears flowing nonstop, Sana couldn't even bring herself to utter anything so she just simply shook her head, telling the other girl that she did nothing wrong but that didn't ease the panic that she's feeling right.

 

The brunette's starting to think that this girl is crazy first, she suddenly approached her and now she's crying, but she's undeniably pretty so she dismissed that thought and just tried thinking of ways on how to stop the latter from crying.

 

"I-I don't know if I should be doing this but..." Finally, her hands stop moving frantically in the air and decided to give the girl a hug in hopes of comforting her, her arms hesitantly reaching for the girl's smaller frame, engulfing her in a hug.

 

It was awkward at first but then it turned into a comforting one a few seconds after.

 

The taller girl's arms weren't holding her firmly, it was rather gentle, probably to not squish the little puppy in the middle, but Sana was sure that it was one of the best hugs that she's ever received — she also took note of how she immediately melts into the hug despite it being awkward at first, it's not every day when you get to be hugged by an angel.

 

"Hey, I don't know why you're crying but it's alright.. It's fine, just let it all out.." The taller girl comfortingly says, right hand hesitantly rubbing small circles on the smaller girl's back as she gently placed her other hand at the back of the girl's head, urging her to lean her head on her shoulder, the latter relenting almost immediately, even moving her head from her shoulder to the crook of her neck; If this was someone else, the taller would've drop kick them for getting too close but this crying girl oddly feels nice to hug — yes, she doesn't know her name yet but what about it?

 

A few minutes had passed and the smaller girl, fortunately, stopped crying and retracted herself from the taller — unwillingly, that is.

 

The taller wouldn't want to admit but she kind of missed the contact, but she figured that it's better that she finally stopped crying as she was starting to feel ticklish with the latter's cute nose bumping on her bare neck from time to time and they were in a public place, people passing by might be thinking that she's a cold-hearted girl who made this oddly cute girl cry.

 

"Sorry.. I just.." The previously crying girl trailed off, trying to wipe her tears but her hands were busy cradling the brown pup.

 

Seeing the cute puppy trying to the orange-haired girl's tear-stained face once again, the brunette chuckled, hands moving on its own to cup the cute girl's face with both hands, using her thumb to wipe the tears herself.

 

Feeling the warmth that the taller girl's hands were emitting, Sana felt her own face heating up, a hue of red tainting her face as the taller slightly tilted her head up and their eyes making contact.

 

Only then did the brunette realized what she was doing. "Oh— sorry. I didn't know what has gotten into me.." She said after retracting her hands in haste, afraid that the latter would think that she's taking advantage of her.

 

"I-it's okay... I didn't really mind.." Sana shyly admits, looking down only to see that Boo was also looking at her, so she focused on having a staring with the cute fluffball to stop herself from looking at the girl in front of her — and that was a rare sight since she was never nervous around girls before.

 

"Oh, cool, uhm... I'm Tzuyu by the way.." Tzuyu says, pondering whether to hold her hand out for a handshake to be formal or just let it hang awkwardly on her side, she chose the latter and settled with scratching the back of her neck, the smaller girl won't be able to shake her hand anyway.

 

Looking up, Sana flashed her a soft smile, the first smile that she's ever thrown towards the other girl — Tzuyu kind of wishes to see more of that smile.

 

"I'm Sana.." She glanced at the puppy in her hand sheepishly before turning to look at the brunette once again. "And this puppy here is Boo." She informed as she waved his cute paw as if saying hello to the girl.

 

Tzuyu didn't really understand what she meant by that, feeling confused, all she could do was utter, "Huh?"

 

Sana couldn't help but giggle with how confusion was etched on the taller girl's face and is currently looking at her with a quizzical yet cute expression. "Actually, my friend owns this cute little puppy, and his name is Boo."

 

The look of confusion on the taller girl's face didn't fade away but instead hardened. "I'm sorry what? You know this little guy? Like, you really do?" She asked, pointing a finger to the puppy to emphasize her question.

 

Laughter, that sounded really cute, came out of orange-haired girl's lips as Boo reached for the brunette's finger and started nibbling on it, it didn't even hurt at all, actually, the taller finds it amusing, melting at the action and looking at the little puppy in awe.

 

"Yeah, she actually asked me to watch over him but.."

 

"But you lost him?" Tzuyu states more than asked, Sana didn't get offended as it was said rather playful, but still, she couldn't help but pout as she was reminded of her irresponsible self.

 

"Yeah.. it all happened real quick. I was just on the phone with his mother but then he's gone all of a sudden." Being her affectionate self, she leaned down pepper the puppy with kisses and as if that wasn't enough, she even squished her cheek against his small body, causing it to let go of the taller's hand. "I really thought that I've lost him and that I'll never see him again. Poor baby, I'm sorry for losing you."

 

Tzuyu would be lying if she says that she didn't melt at the sight. It felt as if she was watching two puppies interact. "Will your friend kill you if you really did lose him?"

 

"God, I don't even want to think about it." Sana shivered at the thought and at the realization that she was so close to getting murdered today, this Tzuyu girl must really be an angel for giving her another chance to live. "I'm really glad that you found him. I think I would've been dead by now if it weren't for you."

 

"Hm, don't mention it. I just saw him by chance. I was supposed to meet with my dwarf friends—"

 

"You have dwarf as friends?" The Japanese asked, looking at the girl with a surprised look in her face.

 

The brunette blinked at the question before stifling a laugh. "No, I call them that because they're both really small. Anyway, they had something urgent to do so and since I was already here, I decided to just stay here for a little while, and then this cutie suddenly approached me." Her dimple showed as she smiled, looking at the said puppy with heart eyes. "He kept following me so we end up playing together."

 

"It must have been fate."

 

"Huh?"

 

"I mean—" Sana's words were put to a stop when her phone dinged.

 

Tzuyu, the kind-hearted human that she is, took Boo from her hold so that she can fish her phone out of her pocket and check who just messaged her; She was sure that it was Momo and she was right, seeing nineteen missed calls from the blonde and dozens of messages, one saying that the puppy has a schedule at the vet in the afternoon which is thirty minutes from now.

 

"Looks like we need to go. Boo's supposed to be at the vet in a few." Sana says with a noticeable frown on her face, she really wanted to stay longer and get to know this potential girlfriend better.

 

Tzuyu bit her lip, preventing herself from frowning as well. "Oh, alright then."

 

She tried giving the puppy back to Sana but Boo must have been attached to the brunette as it doesn't want to leave her arms.

 

"Come on, Boo, you need to go now. You're gonna need to let go, little guy." The taller girl says to the puppy in her arms but it wasn't really helpful as the little pup still refuses to go, crying whenever Tzuyu tries to let him go.

 

"Seems like he's attached to you now.. what are we gonna do about it?" Sana asked, hand gently playing with his cute ear as he snuggled deeper in the brunette's arms.

 

"What if I come with you guys?"

 

"Do you wanna come?"

 

They asked each other simultaneously.

 

With their cheeks dusted pink and their soft touches of laughter filling this small bubble that they had unconsciously built, consisting of them three and only them — They were sure that their meeting is brought upon by fate.

 

"I'll go with you."

"And that was how I met your mother." Sana says to conclude her story, a smile present on her face, the one that turns her eyes crescent — Tzuyu's favorite.

 

"Wow! So it was all because of Boo!" The cute five-year-old girl giggles as she snuggled against Tzuyu's chest.

 

"She's heard that story countless times yet she still gets amazed whenever you tell her about it." Tzuyu told her wife with a chuckle, before tickling her cute little baby, eliciting continuous laughter from the kid.

 

"What can I do? She loves that story." The older of the two replies, saving her daughter from her wife's sudden tickle attack only to start peppering her face with kisses, making their little girl giggle at the shower of affection.

 

"Yeah, I'm really glad that you weren't killed by Momo that day. I wouldn't have a beautiful wife and a cute little Yuna if ever." With a smile fond smile on her face, Tzuyu watched her two beloved girls.

 

"Well, she did get a little scared of you when you stood up for me that time... but speaking of Momo, she and Mina's gonna bring Boo here in an hour. So, enough cuddling, my loves, time to get out of bed!" Sana informs as she got out of bed, clapping her hands at the two like a coach whenever they want to cheer for their players and raise their spirits.

 

"Alright, pup, hop on," Tzuyu says as she sat on the corner of the bed, her daughter immediately placing herself on her mother's back, and when her daughter's safety was secured, she stood up, carrying her baby in a piggyback.

 

Sana shook her head at the two, honestly, she had told her wife to not call their little princess 'pup' but she doesn't listen, saying that it's cute so Sana had no choice but to accept the fact that she married a furry and gave birth to a potential furry — she had to listen to them bark at each other every day.

 

"Mommy hurry up!"

 

Yeah, this life was everything that she's ever wanted and she surely won't change it for anything else.
