Lee Yumi (OC) x B.A.P. Zelo (Choi Junhong)

The smell of freshly baked breads from bakeshop

The sound of laughter from the kids playing at the park

The fresh air from this little town

Lee Yumi smiled. How she missed her little neighborhood. It has been a year since she left her neighborhood as she needs to study in one of the university in Seoul. “Nothing changed, eh?” she thought. With a backpack at her back, she continues to walk.

“Yumi, my baby girl, you’re back!” Mrs. Lee hugged her daughter as Yumi entered in their house. “How I miss you so much. Why you didn’t visit us during your winter break?” Mrs. Lee asked with eyes showing that she truly missed her daughter.

“School works, Eomma” Yumi smiled. Well, it was partly true that she can’t visit due to her school works but then she had worked during her winter vacation. She didn’t tell it to her parents as they are against of her being a working student. She only wants to help her parents in terms of financial, at least for her daily allowances. “Omo, that smell!”

“I bet you missed my kimchi-jjigae, eh?” Yumi nodded with a pout. How she missed her mother’s cooking especially her favorite kimchi-jjigae, though she can eat this in Seoul but nothing beats homemade foods. “Awwe, put your bag at your room so that we can eat already, okay? I already cleaned your room!”

A nostalgic feeling she felt as she entered in her old room. The room which holds many memories disguised in tangible things. She smiled to see an old photo of her with her friends posing in front of their school gate that posted in her wall. How she missed them.

“Aye aye aye! We should still be friends even if we are taking different paths during our college days, okay?!”

“You’re too emo Hyerin-ah”

“Guys! Let’s take a picture. Eh where’s Junhong by the way?”

“There. Faster you giant! We’ll take a picture!”

“Okay, 1, 2, 3, say cheese!”

Yumi brushed her thumb softly at the face of the boy in the picture with his long hand s around her neck, the boy who have been her friend since middle school, the boy who annoys yet makes her smile, the boy she truly treasure. “Junghong-ah”

“Yumi! Come down now!” her mother called

“Ne, eomma!” she replied then took a last glimpse at the picture then comes back where the dining room is.

“Well, then, I’ll be going now, Seonsaengnim” Yumi bid a goodbye to her old homeroom teacher and bowed. She decided to pay a visit to her old highschool homeroom teacher at her alma mater. Since it is still 3PM, she decided to have a quick detour to her old classroom. She stopped in front of the room, with the sign above saying, ‘3-2’. She opened the door and there, the memories of her highschool life inside the room played in her mind

“KYAH! Yumi-ah,Yumi-ah, YUMI-AH!” a girl in a ponytailed hair run towards Yumi’s and smiled. “eh, ah, you know, hehehe” Yumi sighed. ‘This girl really’

“Forgot to do your homework, don’t you, Hyerin?” Kim Rian said and shook her head.

“EEEEE, yesterday’s weekly idol guest episode was Infinite and you know how much I love them, that’s why my fangirl spirit has been called.” Hyerin pouted

“Tsk, copy it now before Ssaem comes in” Yumi handed her notebook to Hyerin and the latter took it in a second and sits at ther chair.

“That silly girl, oh, hello Junhong, Wooshin” Rian and Yumi turned their heads when Soojin greeted their newcomer friends, “It’s early in the morning yet you two are covered with sweat. You raced going here, right?”

“Well, lunch is in the line, so… Yah! Junhong I won. I want a bento for later’s lunch a’rayt?!” Wooshin grin and got excited for his reward

“Yeah yeah” Junhong bitterly answered and went to his desk right beside Yumi. Their classmates starts to move back to their respective seats as their homeroom teacher comes in. “Good morning Yumi” Junhong greeted Yumi and smiled.

“Good morning Junhong-ah”

Yumi smiled to that memory. He may be covered with sweat but for her he still looks handsome. She walked inside the room and sat at her old desk. Surely brings back time. She looked around and noticed the familiar small engraved drawing the bottom part of the window. She walked, looked to it, and brushed her hand at the drawing, “Still here, eh”

It feels like I’ve dreamed for a long time

For a while, I’ve wandered and wandered

As if we made a promise four seasons ago

We’re standing face to face, just like that day

“And it’s done, yay!” Yumi puts her scissors down and smiled at her work of art at the wood below their classroom’s window. A human-balloon holding each other’s hand with initials of J to the boy’s and Y to the girl’s tummy part.

“Tsk, you know you can get a punishment once they saw that” Yumi startled when she heard a voice. Fortunately, it was Junhong, her boyfriend.

“Don’t scare me, like that. Thought you’re Mr. Lee for a second” Junhong walked near to her girlfriend and looked at her art. “Well, it’s kind of a remembrance since we’re graduating” Junhong saw her sad face. And he too, is so sad, that their graduation is fast approaching. Less than two months, and they’ll go in separate ways. And separate ways meaning…

“Yumi, want a date?” he looked at her in the eyes. Her eyes full of emotions. Yumi then nodded and exited the classroom with their hands locked to each other, like there’s no tomorrow.

Yumi was already outside of the campus when she remembered something. “Right, I must check if it is still there”. She ran back and went to the forest part of their campus.

The beautiful stories

we wrote down then

The promises of forever

we prayed then

All come back to me one by one

I knew my heart wouldn’t be able to take this

For you, I held it back even more

So how was your year?

“Eeeee, I’m scared, Junhong-ah.” Junhong dragged Yumi when their school ends to his favorite and secret place. He wants them to be there before the sun starts to set.

“Faster, you scaredy cat. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”

“What if there’s a snake on those trees? The venomous one? KYAH Junhong-ah let’s go back, eo eo eo?” Junhong stopped walking, and faced Yumi. “Ouch what was that for?!” Yumi rubbed her forehead where Junhong flipped his finger.

“Lee Yumi” Yumi knows that Junhong’s annoyed now reason for her to look anywhere but Junhong’s. “I’ve been visiting this place for like a year now and I guarantee you that there’s no snake here” he said while holding Yumi’s shoulder. “Trust me.” Yumi looked at him and nodded then they continued walking.

I’ve lived and tried to forget for a long time

For a while, it seemed like it was okay

But as time passes by,

I’ve come to realize

That without you, I can’t go on

“WOW! It’s pretty” they arrived at their destination just in time when the sun starts to set. Yumi was mesmerized by the beauty she sees in front of her. Beyond the railings is an overlook of their little neighborhood below with the yellow-orange-bluish colored sky due to the sunset.

Junhong saw her smiling, and he knows that she’s truly happy as her smile reaches her eyes. He smiled. This was the reason why he fell in love with the girl he’s with. She’s pure yet scaredy cat, smart, loud, friendly, and innocent with a sweet smile.

Yumi was so busy mesmerizing the scenery when she her boyfriend backhugged her. Call her old-fashioned but she loves it. She holds his hands that s around her waist and caressed them gently. “I wish graduation day will never come” she heard him whispered. She broke his hands off of her waist and faced Junhong who’s now looking at her directly in her eyes. “Should I go against my parents and be with you in Seoul?” She wiped the tears that fell down from his eyes and smiled.

Maybe if we were

just a little more mature then

Maybe if we knew

back then what we know now

Endless regret only repeats itself

I have no will to save myself

But I tightly held all of that in

That’s how one year has passed

“Junhong-ah, we already talked about it, right?” she caressed his cheek that is now wet because of tears. One month before their graduation day. The only have a month left to make more memories together. Memories that they’ll cherish together.

Junhong’s family decided to move and migrate in USA as his dad was promoted to do business there. He didn’t want to leave but he had to. His parents already signed him up in one of the university there and he’s not sure until when will they stay there. When he told this to Yumi, Yumi cried. She doesn’t like the idea of being apart with Junhong, and the idea of long distance relationship. So she told him that the day after their graduation, they will end their relationship. They don’t like the idea but they agreed, since for them, it’s for the better.

“If we are meant to be together, then we are.” Yumi said and smiled.

Junhong lifted his hand, held her head and gave a long and sweet kiss on her forehead. “I love you, Lee Yumi”

“I love you too, Choi Junhong”

Are your feelings the same as mine?

Can you give me one more chance?

I now know that we can never part

You’re the one person I loved and still love

Yumi wiped her tears that fell from her eyes. ‘How is he?’, ‘did he enjoy his stay there?’ thoughts of the likes pops in her mind. She still loves him even after a year passed by and maybe, maybe this time, it will be one-sided love. ‘I can’t be compared to the girls he’ll meet there. Bet he has someone in his side right now’. She shrugs her thoughts away then turned her heels, ready to leave the place when she saw someone standing in front of her.  Her heart skipped a beat, seeing the man he truly loves in front of her. She can’t help it but feel happy with this kind of reunion.

Junhong walked closer to Yumi, and smiled “It’s been a while, Yumi”
