Chapter 9

Jisoo woke up first as she hears her alarm beeping at the bedside table. Looking at the time on her phone - 3:30 am, she puts it on snooze for another 15 minutes. 

She buried her face into Jennie's neck and continued to sleep more. Their bodies fit together perfectly.

What time is it? Jennie stirred awake and asked with a croaked voice. 

Shh it's just 3:30 am. Go to sleep. Jisoo said in hushed tone and kisses her girlfriend's bare shoulders. 

What time will you be up? 

Later. Right now, I want to spend more time with you. Jisoo wraps her arms more on Jennie, keeping their bodies closer than ever.

She pushes Jennie's hair to the side to expose her neck, continuing kissing her at her neck and her back.

Jennie happily moaned at her ministrations. Hmm. If you keep doing that. You might not make it at work on time.

Jisoo gave a breathy chuckle but it didn't stop her from kissing Jennie's back. It's the risk I'm going to take. I forgot to give you your gift last night.

Does last night not count as one?  I mean I don't know how can you ever beat that. Jennie joked.

Jisoo laughed and pulled back to retrieve gift from her bag. Jennie examines unbashedly at Jisoo's body. 

Here. Happy Birthday. 

Jennie's heart beated quickly as she opens the little gift. It's beautiful. Thank you. Jennie began to tear up and turns around, signalling Jisoo to put around her neck. 

Jisoo follows at her request and holds Jennie's face for a kiss. Jennie responded back with the equal enthusiasm. 

Jisoo pulls back and looks at Jennie tenderly. The way her girlfriends's eyes lit up and the gummy smile grew on her face makes her heart burst.

Jennie pulled her in from the bed and stayed there for a while, placing a few lazy kisses against each other's skin.

Removing the sheets away from them, they continued to make love.

Jisoo makes it at her home by 4:30 am. Ignoring her mom's steel gaze.

You missed the party. Where were you? 

Mom, don't start with me today. You wanna bust on someone, find yourself a husband to bust on.

Dara didn't say anything.

Jisoo felt bad on what she said to her mom. Mom. I'm sorry. I have to go. I'll see you later.

So marry her off. There's gotta be someone you can fix her up with.

Back at the hospital, Jisoo explains to Lisa her today's fiasco with her mom.

I'll put the word out. Lisa makes a list and texts her friends for backup.

A nurse, Nayeon, hears their conversation and gives a suggestion. Oh hey, my landlord's single.

No wife? Jisoo asked 

Hmm. I don't think so. He's not very chatty but he's rich though.

Might as well put him on the list Lisa.

Roger that Captain.

The pediatrician, Wendy, also suggested. What about Mr. Park over at Smiler's Deli? He's not rich but he's very chatty.

Lisa put Mr. Park on the list as well.

Noted Captain.

Suddenly another nurse, Joy, went up to Jisoo Hey, there's a Mr.Song. He's finishing a checkup with Irene. 

Let me see his stats. Jisoo examines carefully his paper. Fifty-three unmarried. Thyroid levels aren't where I'd like to seethem, but overall pretty healthy. Okay. Be discrete but ask him if he's free on Friday.

Book him, Joy. Joy nods at Lisa's command and gives them a salute.
