She was so impatient, waiting for the clock to strike 4 but it’s just 3:30 in the afternoon and there is still half an hour more. She couldn’t resist herself from checking the time each and every single minute … though she knew time doesn’t fly so fast when you want it to... You might be curious to know what’s so special about 4 o’clock right? Well... You’ll have to wait...  She was so restless to sit still that she walked towards the mirror to have a look at herself. She had a very beautiful smile on her face. She looked pretty & elegant but the reason behind her smile was something different...  Well to be exact something special. She was not even looking at herself, but her thoughts took her to somewhere far where her heart belongs to.

When the clock started striking 4 and the moment she realized it, turned around grabbed her phone and ran downstairs just like our Cinderella who ran out of the castle when the clock screamed it’s 12. Who knows she might be a Cinderella in the real life waiting for her Prince Charming... The spring was beautiful as always and the evening breeze was soothing. She was waiting for Hannah her best friend. They never miss the evening walk during the spring. It’s the time they dedicate for each other to have a chit chat, play around, unlock the secrets and moreover to be themselves cherishing their long running friendship. But these days it has been more special... Why?? Just like that... may be the presence of something that makes her happy or maybe someone who makes her heart flutter …

It’s already 4:10 now and where’s Hannah?? She started looking into the direction of the road where Hannah used to come from. ‘Is she sick? Or did something happen? No!  Wait is she not coming today? ‘All these thoughts made her more impatient. Right then her phone gave a few vibrations as she received a text.  It was Hannah.  “Heyya  ... am sorry, something urgent came up. I am running late. You better start now. I’ll catch you in our usual bench near the lake side. And don’t forget what I told you the last day… Speak to him if you get a chance…”  She looked up and took a deep breath. She could hear her heart beats loud enough that she felt she was out of breath. She didn’t know what her exact feeling at that moment was. Anxious? Yes she is anxious thinking about talking to him. Curious? Yes she is curious thinking how he might be looking today … Happy? Yes of course she is happy just because she gets to see him … Excited? Yes she is totally excited because it’s him…  He was the reason for her smile and he is the only reason why these days the evening walk was more special. She saw him first when he made the debut along with his band a long time before. They have never talked or knew each other personally.  She started listening to his band and gradually started knowing him. Even now she doesn’t even know the exact moment when her fangirling transformed to love. She likes each and every single thing about him. She knew it was love but also knew it’s impossible. So she kept her love locked safe, deep inside her. The only one who knew the truth was Hannah.

It was so unexpected to see him in her neighbourhood playing basketball a few days before. Then gradually it turned out to be a daily routine for him to visit her neighbourhood. Both she and Hannah walked to the lake side near the park taking the route beside the basketball court.  Initially it was nothing special but one day his eyes met her eyes when she was looking at him while passing by. She turned her head in reflex action, so embarrassed that he caught her looking at her. Moreover she was tensed thinking what might have been his first impression about her as he caught her looking at him. But as days passed by there were days where they exchanged looks and their eyes met. And there were times he gave a sweet smile at her. She thought of all these while walking towards the court. The cool breeze was just passing by patting her long straight hair. She seemed to be brighter and happier as she reached the court. The breeze was still patting her hair that her face was covered totally. She gently tucked the hair behind her ears and threw a slight look towards the court. But… where’s he?  Her eyes were searching all around the court for him but couldn’t find him. A huge stack of thoughts came to her mind. ‘Is he not well? Or did something happen.  Wait it’s not that he stopped coming right? I didn’t even get a chance to talk to him’ she was deep inside all these kind of thoughts when she heard her name. ‘Hey Mia… ‘She turned back and was startled to see him standing beside her. ‘Hi Minho Oppa’ she replied in a faint voice. She could hear her heart beat so loud that for a moment she feared if he could hear it out. She still could not accept the reality that her long time crush and love Minho Oppa is standing right in front. She didn’t know what to say or how to react. ‘It seems your friend is not here today’ Minho asked. ‘Yeah she is running late, but will join soon’ she replied trying not look at his eyes as she was shy, scared and anxious. ‘Minho took a step closer to her and said ‘Uhh Mia actually I have something to tell you… I have been looking for a right situation and I guess today is the day.’  A sudden flash of panic went through her heart. Is it because he found out that I have feelings for him or is it because he caught me looking at him every time I pass by. Oh my god am done. She was more anxious that her heart rate spiked high.  She gained all her courage to defend herself ‘Actually Minho Oppa  ...’ but suddenly she heard it… ‘I love you Mia!!!’ Minho said in a hurry before she could complete. She froze on the spot.  What? Did I hear it correct or am I imagining things again? She was confused. She didn’t even have the courage to ask him if she heard him right. Minho continued ‘Am sorry. I know I have rushed things. I know how shocked you might be to hear it now. But I really like you so much that I want to say it all of a sudden. ‘She felt so shy but happy that she tried to avoid his eyes.  Minho continued ‘I have been noticing you from the first day I came here. Initially I was attracted by the way you looked at me all shocked to see me here in your neighbourhood. But gradually I started noticing you daily. I hope you too feel the same way as me if am not wrong.’ He looked at her with a sweet smile on his face and he was pretty confident that he was right. ‘I don’t want you to give me an answer right away. Take your own time. I know your answer is yes. But curious at the same time why you are not saying it right away though it’s a yes. Let’s meet tomorrow at the same time and I hope you will be able to get hold of yourself by then.  So think about it the whole night and dream about me. See you tomorrow’ He winked at her and ran back to the court to join the game. She still remained glued to the spot trying to figure out what happened. He kept looking at her in between the match and kept smiling and waving at her.  She turned back and started to walk towards the lake side.

It’s been 15 minutes she kept replaying the scenes in her mind. She was still puzzled and moreover her heart was so fast still. ‘Mia’ it was Hannah. She was so happy than usual that she came running and hugged Mia. ‘I met Minho on his way back after the match. He told me the whole thing. See I used to tell you right true love never fail to get realized and see what happened now. But he told me that he know the truth that you love him but why are you keeping quiet. If it’s because of the shock let’s give him the answer tomorrow’ Hannah was actually excited for her friend. ‘But Hannah’ Mia interrupted, ‘I am not sure what should I do. It’s true that I love him... I am the happiest person right now but the same time am not sure if I deserve his love. I really don’t know if it’s ok to say a yes to him. He is an idol after all I am confused if I am lucky enough to be his first love. My heart is still beating so fast and I really don’t know how to react.’ Hannah gave her a tight hug and said ‘See Mia it’s just that you are shocked to hear it from him all of a sudden quiet unexpected. There’s nothing like you that, you know very well where your heart is. So go for it.’ Mia looked at her took a deep breath and smiled. But Hannah asked ‘By the way where that sound coming from?’

Mia turned and opened her eyes. It was so dark. And she was thinking what is happening where am I? She could still hear that sound somewhere near her. It took a while for her to realize that it was her morning wake up alarm and all that she saw was a dream. She snoozed her alarm and checked the time. Its 5 am already and she has to get ready for office now as she has the early morning shift. She felt so sad that it was all a dream but happy at the same time as she never had a beautiful dream like this for a long time. But though it was a dream her heart was beating so fast still. She kept her hands just to feel her heart beat. She got up from the bed and started getting ready for the day. Once done before leaving for the office she sat on her chair took her diary and wrote.

“Today I had the most beautiful dream in my life. We tend to forget majority of the dreams we see while sleeping but am not sure why this dream stays with me even after hours I woke up.  May be it has something to tell me or make me realize. I never had such a beautiful dream for a long time. I could feel it still.. my heart keeps fluttering each time I think about it. I still remember each and every part of the dream. And now I realize that no matter how much you try to hide your love for someone your heart brings it up somehow maybe as a dream, as an instance or whatever … Minho Oppa I am happy that you were in my dreams.. Hope you are having a great day!! Saranghaeyo... Bhogoshipoyo … “

Mia closed her diary with a smile. Kept it inside and walked out of the room.  She took a deep breath and walked through her usual path to start her day as usual hoping for a great day and with the memories of a good dream she had. She is still waiting for a day to meet her Minho Oppa and with that hope she keeps moving on…
