f(x). An internationally popular kpop Girl Group that debuted in the 2nd Generation of their genre.

They have many fans both as a group and individually.

Among those fans are a particular community of people that find enjoyment in pairing up two members and romanticizing their relationship; These people are called 'shippers.'

F(x) were no exception.

The most popular ship within the group would most definitely be "Kryber" which is a mash up name of members Amber and Krystal.

Amber and Krystal both are very well aware of these fans that go crazy any single time they interact together.

They are no strangers to their creations as well: Fanart, fanfiction, edits, etc.

They were both initially uncomfortable at first, but it didn't take long for them to shrug it off and even give in to some fan service here and there.

"Oh, before I leave let's take a picture together and post it on Instagram!" Said Krystal during her short visit in Amber's home.

"Must we always post pictures every time we visit each other?" Asked Amber

"I mean the fans misses us and f(x), it's the least we can do. We both know how crazy they can get whenever the two of us are together."

"I guess you do have a point... But let's not feed into their imaginations too much now haha." 

Krystal stuck out her tongue teasingly before they finally took pictures and both posted on their Instagrams.

Krystal looked at Amber from the corner of her eye curious as to what Amber put as her caption.

She refreshed her instagram page to find Amber's post of them together and it read 

"With the princess once again! ㅋㅋstop scolding me so much" 

Krystal giggled at the cute caption.

Meanwhile Amber playfully looked disappointed.

"Aw come on Krys, can't you be more creative with your captions?? You cant just put the words 'missed you' and then a purple heart emoji right next to it!" 

Krystal scoffed "excuse you, but I have a certain minimalist aesthetic I have to uphold!" 

Amber playfully smacked her arm "you're so boring..." 

"And you're obnoxious."

"Boo hoo."

They both shared a laugh.

Krystal then got up from the couch, and put on her coat getting ready to head out.

Amber pouted "aw... Leaving so soon already?" 

Krystal looked at her "I mean I can't just stay here forever Am. It's almost night, I have to go." 

Amber went over to hug her.

"All jokes aside I do miss you. I miss all of you. It gets kind of lonely not hearing Luna's laughter and Victoria's mom jokes... Sulli no longer being around was hard enough." 

Krystal frowned. She knows the feeling all too well.

They all had individual schedules that interfere with coming back. Especially Victoria as she was the busiest among the 4 of them.

"Hey now relax, we could still text and face time like always." 

"Yeah I know... but it's not the same..." 

They both let go of the hug, and they just stared at each other for a bit.

"Don't you have to go back to America after this?" Asked Krystal.

"Ah... I'm gonna stay here in Korea for a while. It's nice being here afterall. I want to give Luna a visit too next." 

Krystal smiled "okay." 

Amber offered to walk Krystal out to her car, and refused to leave until Krystal drove off safely.

'tss... This girl.' 

Krystal admired the sunset and falling snowflakes that melted on the motor of her car as she drove home.

"Its so cold..." She said to herself.

Krystal was also sad to have to leave Amber so soon. There have been moments where they would spend not just weeks, but also months apart from each other. 

She finds it funny. Because she remembers during their debut days, since the members had to spend most of their time together they drove each other crazy and couldn't wait until promotions were over to catch a break. But now it's different, and Krystal felt she took those times for granted.

The members have been so busy and all over the world, it's hard to actually be in the same room as them.

Krystal also felt really bad for the fans that had to wait so long for them to come back or at the very least see them all together again. It's essentially why she accepted to feed Kryber fans as them together causes the most fulfilling reactions.

Krystal then began to become curious; why exactly are her and Amber so popularly paired up? Sure it's no secret that they were the closest in the group, but she very well knows that wasn't the main reason fans want to see them as an actual couple.

Why Amber? Why not the other members? What was it about them that never fails to make fans go nuts?

Krystal pulled up in the driveway of her home, got out of her car, and walked to her front door.

She got out her keys to enter, and the minute she walked inside her house, she felt relieved to feel the warmth inside.

She took off her coat and scarf, and then placed them in the closet nearby, as she jumped on her couch and snuggled up into the pillows, trying to get warm quick.

Krystal after a while then pulled up her phone wanting to see what crazy things the fans must be commenting on her and Amber's recent posts.

Unsurprisingly to her, Amber commented on her post:

"you left too early...ㅠㅠ" 

Krystal giggled and liked the comment.

She then went on to read the replies which got another laugh out of her

"AWW! Llama is already missing her princess!" 

"you guys are such girlfriends ugh!"

"JUST GET MARRIED ALREADY"

"Did Princess Soojungie not give you a kiss goodbye??" 

Krystal raised both her brows 'wow they're really passionate...' She thought.

Krystal went over to Amber's post and just commented "메롱" to tease Amber.

She then went on to wonder why exactly was this something to be all riled up over in the first place.

She remembered when her idol friends would tell her that fans would even go as far as to analyzing every little thing they do in order to prove their "relationship." 

Which of course Krystal found a little creepy.

She looked over at the books that were piled next to her on her shelf. Some of which of course were romance novels.

She does remember rooting for the couples in some of those stories and she herself would get passionate about it sometimes. Perhaps that's the same issue with their fans and shipping?

Thoughts of shipping and novels then led her to another thought: Fanfiction.

She knows about them all too well, however she always avoided ever reading any as it would make her uncomfortable reading a story that had her as a character.

She already feels uneasy watching her own dramas as it is.

But still... She was rather curious. Like what sorts of stories do their fans even write about them? Do they accurately portray her and Amber's personalities? 

Fans are very creative and she wouldn't doubt she would probably be amused by some.

She looked at her phone screen suddenly tempted to look some up.

'Should I do this?' She thought to herself, now having an unnecessary indecisive battle between curiosity and common sense.

Her thoughts were put on hold the moment she saw a notification from none other than Amber herself.

"Are you home safe?"

Of course that's the first thing she texts her.

"No... You left and I already miss you." 

"Amber you get lonely too easily." 

"Why do you think I have roommates in America??" 

Krystal giggled. She then thought up of a question to ask Amber, and she hopes it doesn't give Amber the wrong idea.

"Hey Am... Have you ever read any fanfiction about us?" 

Krystal felt her heart race somehow nervous about what Amber's response would be.

It didn't make it any better when the speech bubble with ellipses kept appearing then disappearing.

Then finally she answered

"Uhh... I have. But that was because I've had friends of mine make me read them purely as a joke and to see my reaction. Honestly fanfictions make me uncomfortable, especially the "mature" ones. Seeing people use me as character in a random story, especially as your love interest is just too weird for me haha." 

Krystal sighed in relief knowing Amber is on the same page here when it comes to fanfictions. Only difference is, she's actually read them... Is it really that bad?

"Us being characters aside... Are the stories in general actually good though?" 

"I mean I'd be lying if I said I didnt enjoy some aspects of the story lines. I wouldn't doubt there are some actual well written stories out there that just so happen to be about us. But I mean that's up for you to find out yourself." 

Krystal nodded then thought for a moment.

"Ok. Think you can link me some of the stories then?" 

Sudden pause with the conversation. Should Krystal not have asked that?

"Why exactly do you want to read some? No actually, why are you asking about all this anyway?"

Krystal felt a short panic really hoping Amber didn't get any wrong ideas.

"I'm just curious yknow? Like our fans are super diverse and creative, I suddenly just felt curious to know what sorts of things they write about."

"Hmm... Okay but don't ask me for the links lol. I'll have one of my friends text you a link..."

Amber then texted another response 

"Ah, I'll have Esther send it to you, shes a big k-pop fan after all I'm sure shes the most knowledgeable in these things."

Krystal's heart raced even faster, her hands shaking already feeling incredibly anxious over what she might get herself into.

Would this actually be a bad decision? 

Krystal then reasoned that no one's gonna force her to read all of it. She can stop and forget about it any time she wants. There really isn't any need to stress.

It took long hours of waiting, but Krystal finally got a notification from Esther.

"Heres the link. I was asleep and its early morning in America, so sorry if it took so long."

Then another message popped up

"Mature warning in later chapters, just saying. Haha I already want to see your reaction to this story..."

'Well... Now I'm scared to read what its about...' Thought Krystal already knowing and deciding completely to avoid any of the mature chapters.

There it was. The link was right there in front of her eyes and it'll take her to the story with just the tap of her thumb.

The anxiousness came back, Krystal not at all sure what to expect.

She shouldn't even be this nervous... it's just a harmless story that fans wrote for fun.

With a deep breath and many words of reassurance clouding her mind, she clicked on the link, and prepared herself to read at least the first few sentences of the fic.

The page opened up, and the fanfic was titled "Reasons Why I Love You." 

As expected already a very corny title.

The synopsis was simple but already enough to somewhat capture her interest. Just something of her and Amber having feelings for each other and they know it, but can't be in an official relationship due to their careers. 

She would give props to the author for depicting a reoccurring dilemma current kpop idols go through... especially the ones who are of the LGBT and actually do end up falling for one of their members.

Not that she'll be giving out any names, however.

She clicks on the first chapter, her palms getting sweaty and her heart racing erratically, not exactly sure what to expect out of this.

'Amber with a nervous gesture took Krystal to a more secluded place, her strong yet nervous grip holding onto Krystal's wrist. Krystal in question was confused by her abrupt action...' Krystal read in her head, already feeling incredibly weird reading her own name in a story. She gulped not at all anticipating what's next; 

"Where are you taking me??" Asked Krystal, worried for her friend.



Amber pushed her against the nearest wall, evident sadness in her eyes.



"I can't take this, Krystal..." She said, her voice trembling "I'm in love with you. And you're in love with me too. But we can't even be together? This isn't fair! I want to be able to hold you in my arms without worrying of who might be watching us. I want to yell at the world that you're mine!" 



Amber took no hesitation to hug the shorter girl in her arms, cherishing her most precious jewel.



Krystal blushed, but then relaxed her expression, feeling the same way just as strongly.



But there wasn't anything they can do about it.



"Amber... I know, I myself want this, but we can't risk our careers and relationships with other people. Let's not forget how bad the stigma is for homoual relationships are in Korea..." 



"Can't we just date in secret?"



"No... I'm too scared to do that. Anyone could be watching us. It's all just too risky... And scary... I also don't want to break a forbidden rule too."



Amber let go of her hold on Krystal, and she looked at her with hurtful eyes.



"How can we get rid of these feelings then?" She asked.



"I... I don't know..." 



Amber grabbed Krystal's small dainty hand, and placed it on her chest.



"Do you feel how fast my heart is racing? You get me like this. No else could make my heart feel the way that it does with you. I can't bare loving anyone else." 



Krystal bit her lip, suddenly deep in thought, all while Amber's eyes burned on her face. 



Krystal then looked up at the tomboy, about to speak



"Amber... what makes you love me so much?"



Amber gave a soft smile "There are many reasons why I love you." 



"There are?" 



"Do you wish to hear them?" 



Krystal nodded.



Amber crossed her arms and tilted her head "I'll tell you each reason. But one for every day that we spend alone together." 



Krystal raised a brow, confused "why?" 



"I want to be able to get you to accept my love. To not be afraid to be with me. And that if there ever comes a time we get caught, then we will take on the world together. Okay?" 

Krystal couldn't help but feel her heart melt at Amber's words



"Okay... well can we start now then? What's the first thing you love about me?" 



Amber stared a bit, then walked closer to the girl and cupped her face



"Well the first... would be your lips." Amber leaned in slowly to kiss her, Krystal taken aback, but leaned in as well anyway. 



However Amber then swerved away, not once touching the girl's lips.



Krystal looked at Amber baffled



"No kissing. Until we're in an official relationship. Okay?"



"w-what..?" 



Amber laughed "Actually that was just to tease you. My real first reason... Is your honesty. I've always admired how honest you are with me. It shows you truly care and lookout for me."



Amber pulled her in for another hug



"But all that aside... for you... I would do anything. Please do keep that in mind."
