Junmyeon & Joohyun, Seoul

“Are you okay?” he asked again as he squeezed her hand. They were waiting at a private clinic for her first checkup. Because of their status as idols, she couldn’t help but keep on looking around in case someone was taking a picture or even looking at them. “Don’t worry,” he assured. 

They were called next. Her doctor was a nice middle aged woman with soft, motherly features that always made Joohyun feel safer. It wasn’t that different this time around. 

“Hello, Joohyun,” she greeted her with a smile then turned to Junmyeon. “And I’m assuming you’re the boyfriend?”

He nodded and shook her hand. “Kim Junmyeon. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you, too. Aigo, your baby’s gonna be so beautiful,” she chuckled before getting the two settled. Joohyun was asked to change into a gown and then laid down on the bed with Junmyeon sitting by her side.

They both watched curiously and nervously as the kind doctor and the ultrasound technician prepared everything. “This will be cold,” the technician told her before inserting the probe. It didn’t hurt but she still winced from the foreign object being inside of her and Junmyeon immediately held her hand tightly.

After a few minutes of checking and probing, the technician moved aside to let the doctor talk to them both. "As you can see," she started with a smile as she pointed at the screen, “That tiny blob there is your baby."

"That's our baby," he said with the widest smile she has ever seen. "Jagiya, it's our baby," he exclaimed and kissed her hand before turning his attention back to the screen. 

Joohyun was overwhelmed with emotions. That tiny blip on the screen was what was growing inside her. Their baby. A baby that was made out of their love for each other.

And as they listened to the baby's heartbeat, her tears finally fell from her eyes. 

"That's your baby,” the doctor affirmed again. “Such a strong heartbeat!" she exclaimed with a smile. 

And Joohyun could only nod in response. As she looked at Junmyeon, she couldn't help but feel a pinch in her heart. She couldn't believe she even thought of not letting him be the father of their baby. Just thinking about what he might have missed because she wasn't thinking rationally bought tears in her eyes.

She squeezed his hand, making him look at her, finally seeing her tears. "I'm sorry. For everything," she muttered quietly but it was enough for Junmyeon to feel a sense of panic. 

His pleading eyes shifted to the doctor and she immediately excused herself, telling them she was going to get them printouts of the sonogram and that they could speak to her again after Joohyun had finished changing back to her clothes. He thanked her.

When the door closed behind her, Junmyeon helped Joohyun sit up. Tears were still falling from her eyes. “I’m sorry, Junmyeon,” she repeated, burying her face in her hands as she sobbed. 

"Hey," he cooed and gently pulled them away to see her face and cup it with his hands. "There's no need to be sorry, Joohyunnie. That's all over now, yeah? I'm here. I'm right here."

She took a deep breath before nodding. "You're going to be a great Appa, Kim Junmyeon," she smiled and kissed him. 

"You're going to be a great Eomma, Bae Joohyun."

Their company knew that they have been dating for the past three years. Being senior idols, there wasn't really much problem about it as long as they kept it a secret and lowkey, away from prying eyes. They also had to tell the company if there was anything that could and would happen. 

They've been doing well so far. The company never had to pay off paparazzi who had snapped pictures of them. They were the responsible leaders who knew how to handle themselves. The directors didn't have to worry about them, that was until Joohyun arrived at the meeting she had set up with Junmyeon in tow. 

After the pleasantries, they were seated across two directors. 

"Hmmm," the older one started. "I'm just guessing but this is probably about your relationship, right?" he chuckled and turned to the other director who was seemingly amused, too. Other than when they told them they were dating, they haven't been in this office again. 

“I’m pregnant," Joohyun blurted out, which effectively made the two freeze and then looked at each other. 

"W-what? Can you repeat that, please?" 

"Joohyun's pregnant and we're keeping the baby," it was Junmyeon who answered and reached for her hand to squeeze it. 

He looked at her. 

I'm right here.

Joohyun could feel her heart hammering in her chest as she watched the two higher ups stood up and excused themselves as they moved away from them, talking amongst themselves in hushed tones, obviously trying to figure out what their next step should be. But when Junmyeon called her attention, she immediately felt relief.

He reached a hand to pushed the lose strands of her hair behind her ear then kissed her hand. "Are you okay?" he asked softly. 

She nodded. Just seeing him smile at her made her feel the safest. 

“Are you two getting married?

She turned to Junmyeon. They never explicitly talked about it. Since everything was happening to fast, and it was only yesterday when they've had their checkup, they haven't had the time to discuss it. Deep inside, she knew she wanted to get married. Even though it didn't look like it, she always imagined how their wedding was going to be because she'd always known she was going to spend the rest of her life with him. But she wasn't expecting anything from him. Given the circumstances, she couldn't ask that from him. 

But Junmyeon was Junmyeon: kind hearted, responsible, always doing the right thing Junyeon. Without his eyes leaving hers, he answered. “We are. Of course we're getting married. She's the only woman in the world I'd spend the rest of my life with."

She could feel her eyes watering with tears. She had to remind herself not to cry in front of their bosses. 

Junmyeon was looking at her with so much love and adoration, as if he was waiting for her answer. "Of course… We...we are."

There was silence before one of them sighed and then smiled. "Congratulations, you two. So what do you want to happen?"

Joohyun, Seoul

During the course of her relationship, the people around them were supportive. From their parents to the managers and staff to their members, they all did their part. Since before their debuts, both Red Velvet and Exo members all knew that their leaders had a thing for each other. Whenever they passed by each other at the halls or during practice, there was something in the air around them, like longing or some sort. Of course, being the people that they were, it took a lot of emotional pining, missed opportunities, and even push from their members until they finally gave in. He confessed (finally!) his fee
