Damned

Three years passed by in a flick while you made sure to keep your secret safe, instead if you had worked on it. It would have at least become a dream come true. No, life always had to with you and your mind in every tiny way possible. Yes, you were destined to live a preposterous life.

You looked around your room for one last time before you walked out of the house that was your everything for the past three wretched years. You weren't leaving this house for good; you were running away from the thing you most feared in the world.

Falling in love with your best friend, the guy who took you in to his house when you were stranded alone on the streets, the guy you had pledged to be the friend he needed the most.
Confessing your love to such a man felt like the worst thing you would do the friendship you had treasured all these years.

If only you were sane enough to stop something from happening you could have stayed for Christmas Eve and do his favorite thing like you both did every year.

Woohyun stepped into the house cooing your name with a Christmas hat on, along with his hand full of baking things. He placed them all on the dining table roughly and went upstairs to your room.
Cold sweats broke out when he was faced with an absolutely empty room; he rushed downstairs while hitting his speed dial #1. You. He got on his bike without even knowing where to start looking for you.
58 missed calls and still no reply to the tons of messages made him hysteric. He ran around the town like a mad man.

You sat in this wide space looking at your phone which was the only light to you in the consuming darkness. You didn't have the courage to pick up his call nor reply, which was even scarier than the absence of light.

After a deep breath you touched the first contact on your phone with the name
"Mine ♡"

"I don't want to hear anything but the place you are right now" woohyun spoke while panting. You figured he was extremely angry from that voice.

"Monet’s rooftop" your voice replied shakily to both of yours favorite café in the town.

15 mins later, you shuddered as the door to the rooftop burst opened hastily.

He walked up to you only to see you shivering the out of yourself drenched in sweat. His face softened as he bent down to gather you in his arms, more like lifted you up and brought you out to light. You clung onto him like a koala.

You buried your face in his chest not wanting to see his face or answer to anything he said. He held you tight while patting your back trying to stop you from shivering.

"I'm sorry" you kept chanting,

Instead of asking why, woohyun reminded silent and kept holding onto you.

"You knew, didn't you?" tears rained down as realization finally hit upon you.

Flashes of the past memories and, especially the one from last night crept up your mind. The way he would kiss you that would always make you earn for more, his magical touch that made your want increase. Being the only sober one made you feel tortuous but at the same time revealing it to him made you scared, scared that you would lose him too easily. You kept it locked up well since he would eventually forget it after he becomes sober. And everything went along like it always used to be.

But yesterday, the chronic pain and pleasure killed you inside. It made you realize how a grave mistake you've been doing all this while. No, mistake would be an understatement.

Woohyun's touch brought you back to reality. It burned, the place he touched like your whole body was right now.

He grabbed your face, wiping off those tears with his thumbs. And took you off guard with a totally unexpected kiss. You went wide-eyed but didn't pull away. He finally let go.

"I am completely sober and sane. And that's all you need to know"

You were damned.
For good.
