Jeongyeon like working late at the office when the noisy rooms were filled with silence the kind of silence that some people would find eerie like being in a school after hours. Jeongyeon however liked it, found comfort from it. It was a different kind of silence and loneliness than the one she felt her in her tiny apartment it was the calm after the storm. She walked the halls the buzz of computers was the soundtrack as she walked through to the staff kitchen there was someone else in there frowning at the coffee machine it was In Nayeon the head of Advertising and Promotions here at Rainbow Park. The older girl had always seemed to follow Jeongyeon around like a little lost puppy. She leaned across the girl plugging in the dormant appliance 

“Sorry I unplugged it” 

She moved back as Nayeon pressed the buttons on the machine.Jeongyeon shifted awkwardly as the machine whirred the smell of coffee filling the air 

So we kissed the other day.”

Nayeon said turning to face Jeongyeon. Here it was the conversation Jeongyeon had been trying to avoid all week the kids had been at least on her part completely accidental she had tidily gone to give her co-worked a kiss on the cheek but that kiss had somehow ended up on Nayeon lips.

“Well… yeah kind of”

It had been a complete accident I mean why would Jeongyeon want to kiss Nayeon I mean she was Nayeon. Always perfectly tailored suits, and positive attitude Nayeon. The Nayeon who always put a handful of kisses in every birthday and Christmas card she gave Jeongyeon. Okay well maybe Nayeon was more than just Nayeon. She was Jeongyeon’s close work friend who she accidentally kissed in the back of a taxi. Nayeon smiles a big smile taking her coffee from the machine. 

“What are you working on tonight?”

She asks before taking sip. Jeongyeon rambled on about the expense reports she had to double tick and various author related requests and how she get back to them soon she made herself a coffee as Nayeon slowly left the room. The hours of typing at her desk pasted and Jeongyeon was almost ready to leave when she heard small footsteps behind her 

“Jeongyeon I need your help”

It was Nayeon well who else would it be she was the only other person in the building the security staff had left about half an hour a go tell the Jeongyeon the same information about the locks as always. 

“I deleted everything I’ve been working on and it needs to be finished by tomorrow can you please help me.” 

Jeongyeon could see Nayeon was stressed and she was finished with her work anyway and working was better than sitting home alone.

“Oh yeah sure. We should get some food as well you look like you should eat something”

Nayeons smile returned as they headed towards her office Nayeon scrolling her favourite take-out site putting an anything an everything into the little basket on her phone screen. 
Jeongyeon took over most of the work but she didn’t mind she was good had this job and she liked knowing she had some control over a situation and that they’d definitely get finished before midnight with her typing skills. The take-out arrived and Nayeon laid it out carefully on the floor of her office and they both sat on the floor jackets and high heels discarded. 

“Do you remember that time Tzuyu got stuck in the elevator and she thought she was gonna die”

Jeongyeon laughed as Nayeon recalled the story

“She was about five seconds away from confessing her undying love to Dahyun”

She replied with a smile

“Yeah what is the deal with those kids”

 Nayeon asked. As she spoke the lights flickered and shut off Nayeon squeaked from across the spread of food. 

“Nayeon did you shut the door after you got the food”

Jeongyeon asked calmly The other girl muttered a small yes 

“Okay well that’s triggered the power shut down and doors will have locked as well”

Nayeon let out another small whimper and Jeongyeon tried to move through the dark to find her sitting next to her 

“It’s fine we’ll just try to get Jihyo to come let us out”

Jeongyeon pulled out her cell it still had a good amount of battery left she called Jihyo, there was no answer she tried again still no answer.

“Jeongyeon is she coming I’m scared of the dark

Jeongyeon wrapped her arm around as she tried one last time 

“”

Jeongyeon muttered to herself before sending a quick message to Chaeyoung to come. She continued to hold Nayeon as they wait her hair as they said together I’m complete darkness and yeah Nayeon was far more than just a normal co-worker to her.
