You always had the curious ability to see other people's colours. It was difficult to describe, especially to your disbelieving friends and family, but every being walking on this blue planet had their individual colour.

Any and every shade of colour was nothing new to you. After some time, you noticed people who had an identical shade of colour always ended up as partners for life, whilst the opposite happened for, say, someone with a shade of blue and someone with a shade of green. Another problem was whether so-called 'colour soulmates' could even find each other in a lifetime. Which seemed like the problem for you.

You see, you had a shade of red you had never encountered before on another person. It was brilliant, it was delicate and it was alone.

Or so you lead yourself to believe. A belief you carried for all your eighteen years. Until she came in, enveloped in that same brilliant, delicate colour.
