Rewrite The Stars

Description

It started innocent enough; Siyeon happened to be in the same company as her. SuA had seen the girl a lot, but SuA herself was always surrounded by all the other dancers. There was no way that the two would be able to get close at all since SuA was a dancer and Siyeon was a singer. The two groups they were both in had a feud over which of their aspects were more important in the entertainment industry, so most days Siyeon would have other people teasing and bullying her if she stuck around the dance studios. The same was true for SuA whenever she happened to be near the recording booths. Naturally they stood back and let the feud go on without really doing anything to stop it, in fear that they would become targets among their own groups.

Then, SuA bumped into Siyeon one fateful night. It was at the park near the Han River, if memory served them both. They introduced themselves like normal people, shedding the status of dancer and singer and just being two co-workers relaxing. They found so much in common that soon they met up every night just to talk and be themselves without the suffocating restraint they needed in the day. Days turned to weeks, yet they continued to see each other at night at that same park. Siyeon told her what it was like to sing and harmonize with her group, with SuA telling Siyeon all the shenanigans that the dancers would have during practice breaks. Both sides saw the other in a new and respected light, but that wasn't the only thing that changed with them.

Siyeon was the first to confess after a few months of seeing SuA at the park. She showed up in a suit and tie with a single rose in her hand, waiting under a single streetlight for SuA to arrive. When she did, she looked at Siyeon and saw the suited girl's silhouette against the full moon, standing still, waiting for her.

"What's all this?" SuA giggled as she came closer, stopping before her. Siyeon didn't answer; she just kept smiling and staring at SuA with such loving eyes that SuA felt herself blush.

"My way of telling you what I'm thinking," Siyeon simply replied, "I think I've fallen for you. Hard. Your smile gives me energy, your voice breathes new life into me whenever I feel down, and your laugh makes the sun seem dull in comparison. There are so many ways I could describe to you how you make me feel but none can be put to words." SuA's smile turned to a silent gasp as Siyeon said those words. She was shocked to see Siyeon get down on one knee and hold the rose towards her, with one simple question to ask:

"Kim SuA, will you be mine?"

Her eyes watered then. The sudden rush of emotions that clouded her mind and heart became overwhelming all at once. Siyeon looked on in worry, hoping that SuA didn't think that this was too fast and that this was too much. Her eyes lit up when she saw SuA give a meek nod. Then, the answer she was waiting for:

"Yes. Yes, of course!"

The two of them continued to see each other in the cover of night, now shared with smiles, hugs and their first kiss when Siyeon decided to bring in a couple bottles of soju. However, as months rolled by, Siyeon and SuA began to feel that their night time meet ups were no longer enough. They began to steal more glances as their groups shouted and argued with each other, doing their best not to smile and blush in the presence of the other. After all, they were meant to be enemies. That's how it had always been. And that was how it all began to hurt.

All it took was one person walking in on the two of them sharing a hug before work, when they thought no one was around. It was one of the dancers, and without hesitating at all, called SuA out on it in the middle of dance practice. What followed wasn't pretty; the verbal slurs, the graphic name calling, as well as the physical beating she endured were nothing compared to how she felt when they began to degrade Siyeon, spreading false rumors about her. The dancers did not hold back on insults, claiming false things such as the fact that she earned money at night by selling her body or enticing people like SuA to join her for a good time. SuA had never been so disgusted nor angry at the people she once called her family. Then came the worse part: they told her that if she were ever to be a dancer again, she would need to break up with Siyeon and never speak to her again. SuA felt her heart shatter; she loved Siyeon, so much so she felt like she was willing to give up dancing just to be with her. But even though she knew she was okay with it, she remembered how much Siyeon told her she loved to sing. Siyeon had been singing all her life, and it was something that she could never part with. SuA made her decision with an aching heart.

She met Siyeon again that night and broke the news. Siyeon was devastated as SuA walked away after breaking her heart, saying that they couldn't be together even though she wanted nothing more than to do so. Siyeon was left standing there speechless and empty as she watched her disappear into the night. The following days and nights were worse. SuA no longer looked at Siyeon when their groups passed each other. They no longer met at night or snuck around the company building for a place to meet in secret. This went on for months, and the toll was visible on both girls. The singers no longer heard Siyeon sing along with them, and SuA isolated herself from the other dancers. Neither side knew what was going on, but no one ever asked.

Finally, enough was enough, and Siyeon made her way to the dancers' studios. She took care in keeping herself relatively hidden from everyone's sight, looking around for the one that broke her heart. She finally came across SuA dancing alone in an abandoned studio in the darkest corners of the company building, dancing almost lifelessly and without the spark she used to have back when they were together. She entered the room and shut the door behind her, eyes trained on the dancer as she practiced in front of the large mirror with music blasting all around them.

"SuA," Siyeon called out, causing the girl to stop and look at her through her dance mirror.

"Why are you here? Go away," SuA replied automatically.

"No, I don't think I will. This is hurting us both and you know it."

"It doesn't matter anyway. What's done is done. There is no way we can be together anyway."

"But I love you! I always have! There has to be something I can do to prove it to you!"

"You don't have to prove anything! I love you too but we can't-"

"What's stopping you? What's stopping us?!" Siyeon finally shouted in frustration. A couple moments of silence passed before she spoke again, "Did something happen? Why are you hurting yourself like this? Baby, please talk to me; seeing you like this hurts me more than you realize." Siyeon approached SuA with cautious steps, eyes full of pain as she watched SuA struggle internally with herself. SuA didn't even notice that Siyeon had gotten so close to the point where the taller girl was back hugging her tenderly. That warm embrace and the security she felt was the last straw that broke her. Finally, the tears and pain that she kept in flowed out through her tears and her cries as she latched onto Siyeon as though if she let go she would lose the girl. Siyeon held her close and just stood there with her, not caring about anything else but the girl in her arms. For a good while, the girls stayed just like that. They were in their own little world, where no status could restrain them and their hearts were free to be happy.

When SuA finally calmed down, Siyeon asked for an explanation, to which SuA gave. It infuriated Siyeon that SuA's group threatened to kick her out just because she had someone she loved, but it was something that she knew she couldn't do anything about. The company feud was something that was never resolved, nor was there any attempt at a resolution in the first place. But Siyeon didn't care, and she made it clear she didn't when it came to SuA.

"If I were to choose between singing and you, I would forever choose you because they will never see me speechless. I would be proud to sing my heart out without them so long as you remain the one my heart beats for. I would choose to sing only for you," were Siyeon's exact words to SuA. The girl teared up again, this time in happiness and regret for breaking Siyeon's heart for so long. They reconciled right then and there and walked out of the building together. It wasn't easy, though; both sides verbally shunned them both as they passed each person by. The words stung and hurt since they were being said by the ones each person saw as great friends, but neither one cared anymore.

The walked out of that company, rewriting the stars so that fate would keep them together instead.

Those aren't friends if they don't support your happiness as long as it's healthy and safe for you. I'm glad the two are together in the end tho.

Suayeon should just ignore those so called great friends..If they really consider the two of them as friends, then they wouldve supported their relationship instead of tthreatening to kick Sua out of the team..Nevertheless,im.happy that Siyeon decided to loom for Sua again and ended up getting back again :D
