Memories of her

Nako sits on a chair in her apartment's balcony to observe the peaceful colors of spring. It was early in the morning where the sun was
just about to rise. Nako, a warm drink in hand, felt nostalgic. The peaceful and vibrant yet somber colors of spring reminded enveloped
Nako's mind as thoughts and memories washed over her.

Memories that remained in her mind all these years, memories that taught her the highs and lows of life. Memories that showed her the
brightness and darkness of life. Memories of expansive palettes of color ranging from somber colors to bright and vibrant colors.
Memories that she can't seem to forget. Memories of her first love. Memories of her, memories of Kwon Eunbi.

It started when they were in college, as a fresh face in the walls of Spring Garden University. Nako was nervous, she was entering a
completely new environment. She was used to seeing the same faces everyday, going out with the same friends, and interacting with the same
teachers everday. The thought of meeting new people scared her, she was by no means an introvert but she wasn't all too outgoing either so
she was thankful for having a roommate that was kind and approachable. Her name was Minju and unlike her she came to this university with
a group of friends and unlike her again she could easily connect to people.

Thankfully Minju understood her situation even without Nako needing to tell her that she wasn't good with people and was more than willing
to help her. Minju started by introducing Nako to her group of friends and thankfully all of them were more than willing to accept her.
Mostly because everyone thought Nako was the reincarnation of all things related to fluffiness and happiness especially one specific girl
named Kwon Eunbi.

To say the least Nako was smitten for Eunbi. She was absolutely breath taking and Nako didn't mean that lightly. Nako was enamoured by the
girl's soft yet sharp features. Her face was perfectly smooth with no blemishes to be seen, her jaw was sharp that perfectly complemented
her beautiful side profile. Her eyes were soft yet hid mysteries and answers that drew you in and made you want to know more. Her lips were
plump, red, and formed the most amazing smile Nako has seen in her life. She was beyond perfect and Nako couldn't believe that Eunbi was real.

What more that Nako couldn't believe is how much Eunbi adored her. From the first time they met through Minju, Eunbi showed adoration towards
her. Nako was beyond flustered when Eunbi began complimenting and praising her for being so adorable but beautiful at the same time. If
Nako only had the courage she would have asked if Eunbi saw herself in a mirror because compared to her she was nothing more than a common
face and Nako things this was only a one time deal because they just met each other and Eunbi didn't want to come off rude... but it wasn't.

The more she became acquainted with everyone in the group, the more she spent time around them even at times staying a night in their dorms
to study or binge watch shows till morning where they surely will regret pulling an all nighter instead of sleeping like any normal human
being. Along with Nako getting close to Minju's group of friends, she grew closer and closer to Eunbi as well. Nako was surprised to see
Eunbi iniating talks between them or even at times asking Nako out to eat with her or spend time with her while she studies for an upcoming
exam. Eunbi would also always text her if she was okay, if she has eaten, and texted her good morning and good night consistently. With all
of this little actions Nako fell harder for Eunbi.

She remembers a moment where she had fallen extremely ill but Minju was back home with her family so she had to take care of herself. Without
even telling Eunbi, she came to her and Minju's shared dorm with a plastic bag filled with medicine and ingredients ready to take care of her.
She obviously tried to refuse the help but Eunbi being her kind self insisted and stayed with Nako the entire time. Taking care of her
and comforting her throughout her illness. She was guilty for having Eunbi take care of her but Eunbi quickly shut her down saying it was
alright, she said she hated seeing her sick so she was more than willing to help her get better and also she liked being around her which
Nako could respond with a blush and soft thank you.

Nako knew these feelings she had for Eunbi would never leave even if she tried surpressing them, she knew she had to do something about it
or she might regret everything in the end. She talked to Minju and the others about her feelings towards Eunbi which at first she was
confused with the reactions they gave. They all smiled at her but the smile felt sad, it felt like more of a solemn smile more than anything.
They all supported her and pushed her to confess but she was confused to why they supported it even with their initial reaction but they
simply brushed it off and changed the topic on how Nako would confess to Eunbi. Nako was still suspicous but decided against it to bring
the topic up again. She wished she did.

Nako with the help of her friends planned out her confession which eventually led to the decision that Nako would surprise Eunbi in her own
dorm with a simple dinner cooked by her. She knew Eunbi wasn't much for grand things so she kept it simple and personal in a way to make things
more meaningful. With the help of her friends they had Eunbi's roommate distract her and prevent her from going back to the dorm while
Nako with the others prepared the dorm to make it look presentable and nice. When the day came, Nako was beyond nervous. The fear of being
rejected or accepted enveloped her mind. She felt sick and ready to breakdownbut she needed to be brave. She wanted to make sure her feelings came through to Eunbi properly.

When all prepartions were complete her friends gave her one last hug and one last pep talk before they had to leave. Nako was thankful for
her friends help even though she was still curious to why all of them had a sad smile when they left but she couldn't dwell on it too much because
she just received a text from Eunbi's roommate that they were near. Nako made final preparations with the table set-up and freshened herself
a bit to make sure she looked extra pretty for Eunbi to which Eunbi would probably say that she didn't anything to more and she was pretty enough as it is.

Nako heard the door open, it was finally time. Eunbi appeared, shockhed evident on her face as she saw the kitchen decorated with flowers
and candles with plates of food spread across the table. Specifically food Eunbi loved, before Eunbi could question what was happening Nako
showed herself inviting Eunbi to eat with her to which Eunbi accepted without first hugging and playing with Nako's face because of how
cute and pretty Nako was with get-up. Eunbi wanted to ask what everything was for but Nako insisted that they ate first before anything.

They talked over dinner their day during dinner with Eunbi complimenting Nako for her cooking because it was unbelievably good tasting.
Nako felt happy and relieved that Eunbi liked the food she made. Nako thought things would be more nerve wracking but she was wrong, it felt
comfortable. They talked like they always do and Nako felt happy. She loved the feeling of being with Eunbi, she felt a bit more confident.
She felt like she could confess and show Eunbi what she truly felt about her.

Dinner ended and Nako decided it was now or never. Nako asked Eunbi to stand up and to close her eyes. Eunbi questioned why but Nako simply
said to do it and wait for her. Eunbi sighed and agreed to do whatever Nako wanted because she knew she could never say no to this girl.
Nako left to get the flowers she hid and a photo of her and Eunbi on one of their outings.

Nako asked Eunbi to open her eyes and Eunbi with shocked evident on her face. Nako offered Eunbi the flowers and the picture and began her
confession. Nako confessed that ever since they first met she fell for the taller girl hard. Everything about her made Nako's heart flutter,
Eunbi made Nako feel safe, she made her feel loved, she made her felt like she was the girl alived. She fell for Eunbi's personality, her
little habits such as her pouting randomly. She loved everything about Eunbi and she wished, she wished wished that Eunbi would give her the
chance to be with her.

Nako waited and waited for Eunbi's answer, she feared the worst and that she would get rejected... but what came out was way worse than anything
she could have ever expected.

Eunbi said she was leaving to study in a different country... She hadn't said anything Nako because she couldn't bring herself to say it to
her. Apparently all their friends knew it except her then it hit her. The reason they smiled sadly at her, had those weird reactions, and
supported her plan to confess to Eunbi was because they wanted Eunbi herself to tell Nako that she will be leaving. What made everything
worse is she was leaving next month. Nako felt the world around her stop, she felt her heart breaking, she felt her soul being ripped
and thrown right in front of her. She felt only pain.

Without a second word, Nako ran off and went back to her own dorm. Looking it and silencing everything by wearing headphones. She cried and
cried until she passed out from crying. The morning after, she couldn't bare seeing Eunbi so she packed her things and went back home to her
parents, only leaving a letter for Minju saying where she will go.

That one the last time her and Eunbi have ever talked again.

Returning to present times, Nako hasn't realized how long she has been staring out onto the distance without moving. Her drink has gone cold.

She sighs again realizing she remembered those memories again for nth time. She hated the fact she couldn't forget those memories but she als
felt if she ever forgets them she will never forgive herself. Eunbi meant too much to her for Nako to forget her.

The aftermath of those events were all a blur as she remembers coming back to the unversity when Eunbi already left. Minju ran up to her
engulfing her in a tight hug as Minju cried because she missed Nako and she hated not being able to contact or see her. Nako felt horrible for not
contacting Minju and her friends but she couldn't garner any courage to face them. She also felt horrible for not saying goodbye to Eunbi
but she felt if she saw her, she would breakdown once more. She was glad that everyone understood her but that didn't save her from endless
tear filled conversations with her friends about everything. She couldn't bring herself to be mad at them because she knew they only did that
because she deserved to hear it from Eunbi herself.

Everything went back to normal a month after and she finally started hanging out with her friends more but the pain never left. The memories
stayed and every time she remembered Eunbi, she felt happy, sad, angry, frustrated, and guilty for everything. She didn't deserve that but
it looks like she will never have the chance to correct her wrongs. It has been years since the incident happened and she hasn't heard anything
from Eunbi even from her friends. Probably out of courtesy of not wanting to bring up her past.

Nako was knocked out of her thoughts when she heard a knock on her apartment door. She thought it might have been Minju coming back from
work. Nako and Minju decided to continue being roommates until both of them could afford their own homes. It was a decision most of her
friends shared because not only it was less expensive but they could still be together even after graduation.

Nako rised from her seat and made her way to the door while wondering why Minju wasn't whining about someone opening the door like she usually does.

She arrives at the door and suddenly she felt a pang of nostalgia as she gripped the doorknob. She opened the door and her entire world
suddenly stops.

It was her.

It was the person that invaded her thoughts all these years.

It was the person who made her a range of emotions she never have felt before.

It was the person who made her feel pain and heart break.

It was the girl she could never forget.

It was the girl that made memories she could never forget.

It was her first love.

It was Kwon Eunbi.

"Hi Nako... It's been a while hasn't it?"
