"Minho, have you seen Jinki?"

Minho looked up from his scroll to look at Kibum, his silky white dress was adorned with soft blue embroidery.

“Kibummie! When did you arrive?”

Kibum pushed his hair out of his face and put the bag full of scroll on the table. He huffed when the action required more effort than he thought due to its weight.

“Last night. So where is Jinki?”

"I heard he went out to show Jonghyun the morning market,"

"Ah. The soulmate?"

Kibum asked as he took a seat in front of Guardian. Minho raised up an eyebrow at the skeptical voice, rolling off his scroll to pay his friend full attention.

"Am I sensing some discomfort here towards Jonghyun?"

"What?" Kibum deadpanned at him, his eyes narrowed dangerously and Minho raised up both of his hands in defense.

"Hey, don't get upset with me. I'm merely guessing,"

Kibum sighed as he looked down at the wooden table.

"I'm not. I'm just... I don't know, I kind of envy Jinki? For having such lovely soulmate. And how it's so easy for them to fall in love. While we are here, hundreds years old but still found no one to love."

Minho reached for Kibum's wrist and squeezed gently to get his attention.

"Hey, it's alright. Love is not a competition. You will find your companion once the time is right. And I think... They deserved this after all the hardships they went through? In fact, you were here in the first row to notice how the pain affected Jinki's life for decades when he waited for his soul mate."

Kibum hummed, eyes staring into spaces without really looking.

"Well, yeah. I guess. Anyway, I haven't had the time to meet Jonghyun yet."

Minho grinned in delight at the prospect of Kibum finally meeting Jonghyun.

"You will soon, and you will totally love him!"

Kibum looked at Minho fondly, his excitement were making the brown in his eyes brighter.

"I can't wait to. It's not like I haven't seen him at all, I just didn't have the time to greet him and introduce myself."

"He's quite a beauty don't he?"

"Mm, but I heard the villagers haven't been treating him right."

Minho sighed and looked away, his heart was heavy whenever he was reminded of the story.

"Yes. Ryou said he received beatings from his father every day for 5 years straight. And there's been some plot of murdering him so that the news of the Highest Guardian's soul mate is there in their village won't reach us, in hope that they will continue to be graced with the blessings."

"My Merlin! What kind of darkness reside in their hearts for them to hurt such a gentle soul? And do they think we're stupid not to know about his existence? If only the Calling isn't there to stop us, I'm sure we can teach the villagers some lesson."

"Mm, but Taemin already did though. Do you think his father will come to the gate to beg for forgiveness?"

Kibum frowned in discomfort at the question.

"I doubt it, he never cares about Jonghyun before, so he's not going to start caring from now on. But if he do comes, Jinki will probably do something about it."

Minho grinned at the mention of their Highest Guardian before he stood up, adjusting his white robes and putting it back in places properly as he's getting prepared to leave the study room for another meeting.

"Oh I'm sure he do,"

When Jinki and Jonghyun arrived at the forest, it was already way past the sunset and the dinner that was held every day at the clearance was already empty, saved for some fairies playing and flying here and there. Their wings flapped around excitedly and Jonghyun stared in amazement as the shining yellow light radiating from the fairies who danced in the darkness of the night.

"Jonghyun?"

Jonghyun hummed at the call, having a hard time himself tearing his gaze away from the fascinating creatures and turned to Jinki, a soft smile plastered on his beautiful face still.

"Shall we retreat for the night?"

Jonghyun blushed softly as he remembered his promise with Jinki about tonight, and nodded his head without really looking at the Guardian in the eyes. Jinki seemed to understand his gesture though, because he just settled with chuckling lowly before he led them to back to their room.

They were just reaching the bedroom's door when Jinki turned him, eyes glinting with joy as he nudged him to the direction of the roof.

"You want to sit on the roof for a while?”

Jonghyun laughed because he now knew staring at stars and talking under the moon was one of Jinki's favourite things to do after a long, tiring day. He told him he found a sense of completion after spending a few minutes under the moon and Jonghyun deduced that it had a lot to do with how their powers were somehow connected to the moon. He nodded without a pause and soon, Jinki was helping him to climb the built stairs leading to the roof, being careful not to let him tripped on his own robes.

Jinki never let go of his hand even when he sat down, pulling Jonghyun to sit in front of him, in between his legs and against Jinki's warm, broad chest. Jonghyun sighed internally when his beloved arm laid across his stomach to keep their proximity close, while Jinki's left arm splayed across his chest, in which Jinki was using it as leverage to pull him closer when he moved to nose into the side of his neck.

A press of Jinki's lips againts his skin was enough for Jonghyun to sigh in pleasure, both of his hands rising up to grip onto Jinki's left arm. He turned a bit to the right to nuzzle into his beloved, and Jinki welcomed him all the same.

"Jinki,"

He sighed his name, and Jinki answered with a low, husky hum that sent warmth spreading across his small body.

"Will you tell me what has been bothering you, my love?"

"Mm," Jonghyun bit his lower lip in hesitation and shyness, eyes fluttering shut as he leaned against Jinki. "Jinki, why won't you kiss me on the lips?"

Jinki froze at his question and Jonghyun turned around without jostling them too much, and Jinki's left arm fell around his body while Jonghyun had his right hand trapped in his own.

"I'm no fool Jinki. I have seen the way you look at my lips. I can see your desire, so what's stopping you?"

Jonghyun voice was low and gentle, as if he was coaxing a scared child to talk. He peered into Jinki's blue eyes before he opened his mouth again with a warm face.

"B-Because I desire it too,"

Jinki took a deep breath at his shy confession before his blue eyes travelled below, eyeing his red lips with so much intensity that it almost had Jonghyun squirming on his seat.

"You don't know how much I have to hold myself back every night I hold you close to sleep,"

Jinki sighed, fingers trailing his lips with cloudy eyes and Jonghyun turned a bit to press a kiss on the palm, his own hand blanketing Jinki's as the Guardian cupped his cheek.

"Then tell me why, my love,"

Jinki smiled with a fondness that Jonghyun always saw when he was exasperated with his determination but found it adorable nevertheless.

"As... A Highest Guardian, I possess power more than the others. I can give so many blessings with this hand and there'll be no limit to it. I'm sure you already noticed about this, but when I walk around the forest, the flowers bloom on the path I've walked. It's because my magic flows in me, most of the time it was too much and too overwhelming that I unconsciously let it out, blessings those natures around me."

Jinki pulled back to stare at the moon, and Jonghyun was left staring at Jinki, open and unguarded at expressing his love and affection to this ethereal creature. Jinki looked so unreal under the moon - magical even - with his cherry blossom hair fanning over his skin, his blue eyes shined brighter in the darkness night and red alluring lips that always, always showered him with undying devotion.

"My touch can give life to others, but when it comes to my soulmate, my touch and your touch make us feel complete and whole. That's why, after a long day, I only need to hold you close to be able to breathe again. When we were chosen to be soul mates, it comes with responsibility of baring even the smallest change of feelings and emotions towards each other. But that gate is close now, and the only way to open it is when we are ready to accept each other, all the flaws and the imperfections."

"And..." Jonghyun murmured, taking Jinki's attention back on him. "And to open that connection between us, is by the kiss on the lips?"

Jinki smiled and leaned in to nose him playfully.

"As expected of my beloved."

Jonghyun giggled at the tickling sensation and naturally looped his arms around Jinki's neck. He said nothing for a while, fingers playing with the cherry blossom hair as he stared deep into those blue eyes, letting himself drown in that ocean. This magical being was everything he could ask for and he be damn if he let this chance go. If he let him go.

"I know you've been ready for it since ages ago…And I want you to know that I'm ready too, to love you as whole, all your flaws and perfections."

Those blue eyes softened at his confession, and Jinki leaned in again to rest his forehead against his, eyes closed as they shared the same air to breathe.

"Are you sure? Because there's no turning back,"

Jinki asked, breathless as Jonghyun when the need and want started to overpowering their emotions. Jonghyun unconsciously grabbed a handful of Jinki's hair, like he needed some getaway to let out some of the steam. Jinki groaned against him, and it sent warmth coursing through his body.

"I am. There's no place I rather be,"

Jinki swore his heart was beating faster and faster as Jonghyun's breath fanned against his cheek became shorter and rapid, a proof on how fast the heart needed to beat to match with his emotion. He knew that when he kissed this gentle soul, their first kiss would forever be engraved to his memories and he would want him again and again, never the urge would stop, never would he get tired of kissing him, and never would his love dies out.

There's really no turning back, Jinki mused, relishing in the intimacy of which their hairs tangled together, their noses pressing against each other, not too hard to hurt, but neither too loose to lose each other's heat.

The Guardian didn't answered his soul mate anymore, but instead he trailed his fingers up the side of Jonghyun's neck, moved his hand to cup Jonghyun's cheek, and with a small push, he tilted his face a bit to the right and slotted their mouths together.

The first touch had them both into each other's mouth, Jonghyun's hand tightening his grip on the cherry blossom's hair, and Jinki's arm caging the small body closer to his, locking his soul mate in his kiss and his embrace. They both pulled back at the same time, gasps leaving their red lips at the wave of emotions rolling in their body as it rise up and up before crashing into the land. But they didn't dare to move too far, as the kiss was an addiction that they needed to fulfill after the waves calmed down.

Jinki stared wide eyed Jonghyun, who mirrored him with a warm face and - Jinki could feel the urge and wants running through Jonghyun's blood. He could feel how the kiss affected his soul mate so bad that it had him whimpering at the mere touch of his fingers across his cheek, Jonghyun's eyes were glassy with pleasured tears. He could feel everything - every single emotions of his soul mate and how needy the smaller man was.

"Love,"

He rasped with a hoarse voice when another wave of lust coursing through Jonghyun's body before it crashed against him, before he pulled him in again. Jinki groaned without ashamed at the press of Jonghyun's soft lips against his, so soft and pliant under his that he couldn't help but kissed him, again and again. He nipped the bottom lips with overwhelming wants, it into his hot cavern and taking the pleasure of hearing his beloved and writhing at the gesture.

His tongue then up the upper lip, wetting it with his saliva before he it clean again. And before Jinki could have the chance to invade that warm mouth, Jonghyun was there first. He groaned loudly, arms pulling Jonghyun strongly against his until the smaller man was forced to straddle his lap.

He onto Jonghyun's tongue needily, fingers moving down the exposed neck before he slipped it under the robe, caressing the warm shoulder and causing Jonghyun's robe to opened askew. His lips soon followed the trails of his fingers, much to Jonghyun's disappointment judging by the way he was whimpering at the loss of Jinki's mouth.

Jinki made up for it with a kiss attached to his neck, lips parting a little against the soft skin before he gently.

"Annh, Jinki-"

Jonghyun writhed wildly on his lap, hands gripping his back so tight that he was sure Jonghyun would left him some nails scratching mark on his skin. Jonghyun's trashing movement at his teasing kisses caused him to accidentally grind down against him, slotting their hips together in perfect motion of ups and downs. The short burst of lust struck Jinki so sudden that he couldn't help but bit the skin under his wet lips, needing an out to this overwhelming feeling.

"Ah!"

The high pitched moan resounded in the dead of the night, and it was loud enough for Jinki to snap and pulled back, eyes almost diluting with how fast the lust was taking over him.

"Love,"

He rasped again, but this time the force of his hands on the slim waist was stronger, putting the motion to stop until Jonghyun was left panting against his shoulder, his arms went slack.

"That's it," Jinki murmured, taking a deep breath for himself too as he caressed Jonghyun's back gently. "That's it, come back to me, my sweet."

"Jinki,"

Jonghyun breathed out and Jinki hummed, tilting his head to place a kiss on the still warm temple. They took their time to calm down their own erratic heartbeats, chest heaving harshly at the lack of air before they finally slow down, two warm bodies taking comfort in each other's arms.

"I'm sorry I went overboard. I couldn't control myself and I shouldn't have done that,"

The Guardian whispered, shame was written all over his face and Jonghyun whimpered softly at his words. The small man pulled back and took a good look at Jinki after what it seemed like hours.

"Why were you apologizing? Don't you want me? Am I not good enough?"

The waves of sadness and pain hit Jinki squared on the face, and it shamed him to admit that he needed a few more seconds to understand that those feelings were Jonghyun's. They were one now, the gate of connection already opened and even a small change of their emotions could be felt by the other.

He was quick to cup Jonghyun's cheeks with both of his hands, leaning in to nose into the right cheek to soothe down the sad whimpers.

"Shh baby. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere. I apologized not because I regretted what we did just now, but I apologized for not treating you better than you deserved."

He pulled back to gaze into the grey eyes, finding himself smiling at the waves of comfort and peace radiating from his soul mate right now.

"Our first time won't be on this roof, my sweet Jonghyunnie. When we make love, I'm going to make sure that I treat you with outmost respect. The touch of the kiss is supposed to only open the gate of connection between both of us, but since I've been holding myself back too much, I pretty much lost my control back then."

Jinki explained with an embarrassed chuckles and Jonghyun smiled, his eyes were no longer clouded in tears as his mind was able to see things clearer compared to a few moments ago. Jonghyun leaned in to press his forehead against Jinki, taking in Jinki's scent and sighed heavenly at the smell of home he could found in Jinki.

 "You love me,"

Jonghyun whispered, finding himself surprised at his own boldness but, it was true. He could literally feel Jinki's love on the tip of his tongue, and it was so strong and so powerful that it constantly wrapped Jonghyun in a blanket of safety and comfort and home.

When Jonghyun pulled back, after he was absolutely sure what he was feeling right now was what actually Jinki would feel, he opened his eyes only to be met with an excited blue eyes, Jinki's eyes twinkling in joy.

"This emotion... It's from you?"

Jonghyun asked in awe and the Guardian nodded his head.

"Yes, this is what I meant by opening the gate of connection between us. We can feel each other, my love. And because my love towards you is so strong, it confused you for a second on whose feeling is this."

Jinki leaned to peck him on his lips out of excitement, causing Jonghyun to squeak in surprise. Jinki chuckled at the adorableness in front of him.

"And I do love you, Jonghyun. You, with all the flaws and perfections."

Jonghyun blushed red at the confession and went to hide his hot face into Jinki's shoulder, all the time whining and sulking at Jinki for making him such a melting mess. But his heart couldn’t miss the jolt of surprise and happiness at hearing Jinki’s confession. He already knew what Jinki felt for him, with him being the soul mate and how Jinki keep showering and pampering him with all the love and affection he had, but to actually hear Jinki said that he loved him was like a dream came true.

A dream he used to have when he was younger, where the dream was impossible to reach because there’s no way someone would love him like this. Maybe what he and Jinki had was out of pure luck, but Jonghyun did like to believe that he and Jinki were meant to be because out of billions people in this world, their names were written in the sky for each other. Maybe they still had a lot to learn about each other, but time was not a race for them anymore.

When the tears filled up his closed eyes, Jinki tightened his embrace and Jonghyun sobbed at the feeling of love and comfort being sent out to him, acting like a blanket in the middle of a cold winter night. Jinki knew how he felt right now, and the elder reciprocated with so much patience that he couldn’t help but just cried.

He was so tired – maybe because it was already late into the night, or maybe because these new feelings mixing inside his small body was making him dizzy, or maybe because he missed hearing his mom’s laugh and jokes – but he was tired nevertheless. He wanted to sleep, he wished to be given a rest without needing to worry about his safety, and Jinki was there to give him that space.

"You wish to sleep now love?"

Jinki asked, his voice sounded sad to Jonghyun’s ears but loving still.

"Mm,"

With a gentle smile and a strong grip under Jonghyun’s thighs, Jinki stood up with ease, bringing Jonghyun with him. The smaller man wasn't affected at all by the change of gravity. In fact, he seemed to be content curling in Jinki's arms, noting with a faint smile on how Jinki just used his power as gentle as possible to move them down to his room without jostling him too much.

Jonghyun was sure he was going to have a hard time falling asleep tonight, but the cage of Jinki's arms around him worked wonders because as soon as they landed on the bed and comfortable under the blanket, a kiss was all he needed from Jinki before he let himself being pulled into the dreamland.

Jonghyun used to question who he was before this, but now that he could see the answer in Jinki’s eyes, he wished for himself to gain back that courage and confidence and be someone Jinki could be proud of. The white hair man knew he would get there someday, maybe not today or anytime soon, but he would be there. That, he promised himself.

With one last happy smile, Jonghyun fell asleep in the warmth of Jinki’s embrace.

"Take all the time you need, Jonghyunnie, for I will be here until the end of my breath. Good night, my love."

The next morning, Jonghyun woke up to a soft laughter and low murmurs of people talking in hushed voices, like they were trying not to be loud but failing terribly so. But Jonghyun had always been a light sleeper anyway, so they could try to be as quiet as possible and he would still wake up from the noise. He opened his eyes with a lazy smile, not even upset or bothered that the talking woke him up from his rest.

The first thing he noticed was the white, half transparent bed curtains on the four corners of the bed had all been let down, giving him a sense of privacy from the others. He was sure Jinki did that to prevent the other Guardians who came to their room from seeing him directly, or maybe blatantly ogling him, like how Taemin said. The gentle breeze that blew in through the open window causing the curtain to flap around and Jonghyun caught a sight of Jinki talking with Minho and a Guardian, who he hadn’t seen at all from the first time he stepped into the forest.

It was comfy – the bed was comfy and watching Jinki talking with quiet chuckles and sunshine smiles was comfy, Jonghyun noted with a happy glee. And it seemed like his happiness was filled up to the brim as it finally spilled out, reaching Jinki before the elder suddenly looked up towards his direction. Jinki’s eyes widened in joy when he realized Jonghyun already woke up. He stood up with a soft murmur of excuse me for a moment and walked directly to him without breaking their eye contact.

Jonghyun stayed where he was, a soft lazy smile adorning his face as he watched Jinki slipped in, sat beside him and leaned down to kiss him good morning. The soft peck on his lips had him sighing happily.

“Good morning my love. You look happy today,”

Jinki murmured, his white hair and Jonghyun hummed in agreement. His eyes instinctively closed on their own when Jinki scratched his scalps from time to time.

“Mm, waking up to your smile has never been this good,”

Jinki chuckled, pulling at the strand of the white hair playfully.

“Where did you learn to tease me like this?”

Jonghyun smiled cheekily at his lover and Jinki scooted back a bit when the younger sat up.

“I learn from the best,”

He retorted and Jinki burst into a series of chuckles, hand closing around Jonghyun’s nape to kiss him again on the lips.

“I think kissing you good morning has become one of my favorite things to do,”

Jonghyun huffed with a warm face, fixing Jinki’s robe just to have his hands busy doing something.

“All of your favorite things seems to revolve around me,”

“Mm,” Jinki agreed easily. “You are my favorite too,”

Jonghyun blinked at him, and Jinki watched in amusement as the red spread from his cheeks to the tips of his ears and down to his neck. The younger lover then whined, hitting Jinki on the chest repeatedly. The Guardian laughed, catching the small hands in his to stop the attack.

“Okay okay, I’m sorry. No teasing anymore for this morning.” He cooed, and Jonghyun pouted at him. Jinki grinned and leaned in again to kiss that pout away. “You want to meet Kibum? He’s a Guardian, a close friend of mine too and he just came back from the Light Forest.”

At the mention of the Guardians, Jonghyun peeped around Jinki’s body to watch Minho, and probably Kibum, chatting with easy smiles on their faces. They didn’t seem to mind waiting for Jinki entertaining his soul mate, and Jonghyun surely didn’t want to make them wait any longer. He nodded excitedly and let Jinki fixed his white robe before they both get out from the bed.

He gripped Jinki’s hand nervously when the other two Guardians turned around to look at them. Even though he was quite familiar with Minho, he didn’t know Kibum. And it was normal for him to be this anxious and nervous about meeting someone new, more so if they were an important people to Jinki. He had to make a good impression for Jinki’s status, but the thought flew out from the window once they reached the coffee table and saw Kibum smiling up at him gently.

The feline eyes were filled with adoration and kindness and Jonghyun found himself smiling back at Kibum, as easy as one two three.

“Kibum, this is Jonghyun. I’m sure you already heard of him from your stay at the Light Forest, but, ah, well, nothing’s wrong with another introduction.”

Jonghyun bowed lightly at Kibum, who in turned did the same.

“Hello,”

He mumbled shyly, pressing closer to Jinki’s side and almost, almost hid his face into Jinki’s shoulder.

“Hello Jonghyun. I can call you Jonghyunnie like the others right?”

Jonghyun hummed and nodded before he followed Jinki to sit down went the elder tugged on their connecting hand.

“And, um, good morning Minho,”

Jonghyun greeted and Minho beamed at him.

“Morning Jonghyunnie! I’m sorry if our voices just now woke you up,”

Jonghyun shook his head to deny the assumption, his body stayed press against Jinki’s side.

“Your hair is as beautiful as the vision shows,”

Kibum said in awe and Jinki and Minho laughed at the Guardian. Jonghyun looked up at Jinki in confusion, demanding an explanation with his big, puppy eyes.

“Kibum has always love the idea of coloring his hair with something bright. But too bad Guardians are not allowed to do that.”

Minho explained and he was reminded of Taemin, his light purple hair was such a contrast to his pale skin. And of course, Jinki’s cherry blossom hair too.

“So, how’s your stay at the Light Forest?”

Jinki asked Kibum, and Jonghyun tilted his head a bit to rest against Jinki’s shoulder, listening to their conversations with ease.

“It was fine,” Kibum sighed, reaching for a cup of tea on the table to take a sip. Jonghyun noticed that every of his movement spelled out elegancy, and figured some Guardians had their own distinct personality. “However, I’m getting tired of their constant darkness there. Thank Merlin my task is done. The scrolls report are in your workplace Jinki,”

Jinki hummed and Jonghyun blinked in confusion, but he was too sleepy to ask any question. And he was comfy too, and that added to the excuses why he couldn’t move right now.

“How’s Changmin?”

“Changmin is fine too. He sent you his regards and his wish to meet your soul mate soon. He also told me to, I quote, I’m so happy for you Jinki! And Jonghyun, I’ll be sure to meet you before the winter comes, end of quote.”

Jonghyun giggled at Kibum’s imitation of this Changmin while Jinki and Minho rolled their eyes at their friend’s antic.

“Who is Changmin? And what is the Light Forest?”

Jonghyun asked, but he was quick to get distracted when Jinki reached out for a soft, delicious looking cookie on the table. He made a sound of want at the back of his throat, soft and low enough only for Jinki’s ears and the Highest Guardian didn’t bat an eyelash when he feed the cookie to Jonghyun like he actually intended to from the moment he picked up the cookie.

He saw Minho and Kibum chuckling at him but he ignored them at the favor of the cookie’s taste.

“Changmin is the Highest Guardian at the Light Forest,” Jinki explained with his smooth voice, reaching out for more cookies for Jonghyun to nibble on. The white hair man hummed in acknowledgement, and he turned to Minho when the tall Guardian continued Jinki’s explanation.

“The Light Forest is situated at the North of the World, while we are at the South. Now, before you ask, no, we only have two forest in which the Guardians reside. Dark Forest take care of the village around the South and West of the World, while Light Forest take care of those at North and East of the World.”

“The Light Forest…Kibum said there’s a constant darkness there. Does the Forest is surrounded by the darkness?”

Jonghyun asked with curiosity filling his grey eyes and was suddenly struck by a sense of pride coming from Jinki. He looked up at his soul mate in question, but Jinki just shook his head with an easy smile on his lovely face. The cherry blossom hair swayed with the movement, and Jonghyun watched, entranced by the beauty in front of him.

“…Jonghyunnie?”

Jonghyun squeaked in surprise, and turned to Minho and Kibum with red face.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. My mind is somewhere else, I’m sorry, c-can you repeat what you just said?”

Jonghyun apologized meekly while Jinki hide his amused chuckles against his hair. Jonghyun huffed at his lover and swatted his thigh softly. He’s not helping at all.

Kibum continued to look at him fondly while Minho was already cackling, earning Minho more huff from him.

“It’s okay. I get it, Jinki’s beauty is unparalleled,”

Kibum teased playfully and Jonghyun was quick to hide his red face into Jinki’s shoulder, whining and sulking until Jinki had to wrap an arm around his small body and peppering kisses on his white hair to soothe him down.

“It’s okay love, they were just teasing,”

Jinki said, but the amusement dancing in his voice had Jonghyun biting Jinki’s shoulder in retaliation, not too hard to hurt but hard enough to cause Jinki to laugh.

“Oh well, I’d love to stay for a moment longer, but I have scrolls to study. Plus I promise Taemin a walk to the lake. It’s very nice to meet you Jonghyunnie,”

Kibum said while standing up, with Minho following him closely from behind. Jinki hummed, standing up and bringing a sulking Jonghyun with him. The white hair man turned around to wave Minho and Kibum good bye, his face was reddish with embarrassment.

“Bye Minho, and Kibummie.”

The other two Guardians cooed at him some more before leaving, and Jonghyun pouted up at them. Jinki laughed and called out at his closest friends to stop teasing him as he walked them to the door. Jonghyun stood still at his spot and watched with fond eyes as Jinki said his good byes.

“I’ll see you this evening for your report, Kibummie,”

“Okay Jinki, I’ll be waiting at your workplace.”

Jinki nodded, patting Kibum on the shoulder and bow his head a bit in acknowledgement when the Guardian paid him a respect before leaving his veranda. He turned to Minho, face changing a bit when he spoke out seriously.

“Also Minho, please pay a visit to the village. Bring Little Henry with you so he can sprinkle the fairies dust on you when necessary. Taemin had curse the village with a deep sorrow, and although I know you won’t be affected, there’s nothing wrong with taking a precaution.”

Minho nodded with a strong, determined gaze and Jinki offered him a small smile and watched on as the Guardian left. Satisfied, Jinki turned around only to find himself a soft looking Jonghyun, who hadn’t move from the spot since he left his side.

Jinki walked over, wrapping one arm around Jonghyun’s waist and leaned in to place a chaste kiss on the red lips.

“Hello beautiful,”

Jonghyun chuckled at his greeting and pinched his cheek in reply.

“Are you going to permanently paint my face with red and pink?”

Jinki hummed happily, tightening his hold around Jonghyun to pull him closer.

“Are you going to stop blushing?”

The shorter of the two pouted at him, pulling at his robe this time.

“No, you know I won’t,”

“Then, the answer is going to be yes,”

The Highest Guardian replied with a cheekiness and happiness that were impossible to make him angry, but he pretended to be anyway just to tease his lover.

“Jinki! My Merlin, what am I going to do with your cheekiness?”

Jinki laughed, leaning in to kiss his lips.

“Maybe love me more? Who knows I might stop teasing you?”

The white hair man huffed at the blatant lie.

“Even if I love you until the end of my breath, I swear by the Merlin that you won’t ever stop teasing me,”

Jonghyun was able to see a split second of mischief filling the bright blue eyes before Jinki crouched down, hooked an arm around the back of his knee and one arm steadied around his back and pulled him up in one swift motion, carrying him princess style. Jonghyun couldn’t help the embarrassing squeak that escaped his mouth at the sudden change of gravity, his hands scrambling to found purchase on Jinki’s robe, wanting an anchor in case Jinki might accidentally let him down.

“Jinki! My goodness! What are you going to do if your hands slip and I fall down?”

Jonghyun chided, his red lips pouting up at his lover and Jinki just laughed, adjusting Jonghyun in his strong arms and walked over the bed, carrying him like he was as light as feather. They slipped in behind the bed curtains and Jinki gently dropped him down on the center of bed with him following suit.

Jinki’s weight on his body was comforting, and the cage of his arms around his head was welcomed. Jonghyun looped arms around Jinki’s neck, his legs parting away to make space for Jinki. The silence filling the room was uncared for as the two of them lost in each other’s eyes, finding stars and skies in their love.

Jonghyun’s fluttered shut when Jinki leaned down, his dark eyelashes were giving Jonghyun’s skin such an alluring contrast. The Guardian placed a gentle kiss on each eyelids, unable to tear his eyes away from the beauty.

“Pretty eyes,”

He whispered, and his lips moved down as he mouthed along the smooth skin to kiss the warm cheeks.

“Pretty cheeks,”

Jonghyun sighed, the warmth started to spread around his body at the feel of Jinki’s lips mapping his face. Jinki’s red lips moved down to place tiny kisses along his jaw.

“Pretty jaw,”

“Jinki,”

Jonghyun breathed out when Jinki moved up to trace the shell of his ear with the tip of tongue, before kissing it.

“Pretty ear,”

“Mmn, Jinki,”

Jinki pulled back at the call of his name, gazing down into the grey eyes once again before he pressed down, slotting their mouth together in perfect sync that had him thinking it was impossible for him to find someone as perfect as Jonghyun. Jinki sighed into the kiss, relishing in how smooth Jonghyun’s lips felt against his, pulling back a little to drag his lips across the plump lips and took the upper lips into his mouth.

Jonghyun’s breath hitched at the gesture, and Jinki welcomed the tight grip on his hair as he let go of the upper lip, his tongue dipping out to trace the shape of the lower lip this time, wetting it enough for him to it dry again. The little gasps coming out from Jonghyun became the perfect chance for Jinki to enter the warm cavern, his weight pressing Jonghyun down against the bed a little bit stronger when their tongues met.

“Annh,”

The moan escaping Jonghyun did so many things to Jinki and he into Jonghyun’s mouth, their tongues dancing together in a heated passion. He traced every maps of the warm cavern, ignoring Jonghyun’s tongue in favor of along the row of his perfect teeth, and Jonghyun whined at his lack of attention.

The grip on his hair tightened in warning – like Jonghyun wouldn’t tolerate Jinki any longer if he still refused to give him the attention he deserved – and that had Jinki smiling into the kiss. He could feel the hazy neediness clouding his small lover right now, and he was proven right when he experimentally pulled back, the whine became louder and Jonghyun’s head raised up to follow him unconsciously.

But Jinki didn’t let the spaces between them became colder as he invited Jonghyun into another dance. The once comfy room became warmer as the lover continued to immersed themselves in frenzy kissing, Jinki’s hair was in a mess from the grip Jonghyun had on it, and it was only when breathing suddenly became essential that Jinki pulled back.

The string of saliva connected their kiss bitten lips had Jinki groaning at the sight, and Jinki had to dive in one last time to taste that sinful lips despite their chests heaving shorter and faster, their bodies trying their hardest to get their blood flowing. The Guardian bit onto the lower lip, it into his mouth and only let it go when he could feel Jonghyun was actually struggling to breathe properly.

“J-Jinki,”

Jonghyun gasped, the warm air let out by Jonghyun hit Jinki squared on the face and he hummed in dizziness, eyes still lingered on the now red, bitten lips as he too fought against the lack of air. It was only then Jinki realized the sweat on his back, the perfect angle of their hips slotting against each other and he took one big gulp of air to quench the thirst.

“Jonghyun,”

He breathed, the grip on his hair went slack and he could feel Jonghyun’s arm draping across his shoulder lazily, both of them still taking their time to go back down from the high. His chest was still heaving, but it wasn’t too fast anymore to interrupt him whispering.

“Pretty lips,”

He said with a lazy grin, and the grin turned into a wide smile when Jonghyun, with his eyes still closed, laughed at him before the grey eyes met his. Jonghyun looked so beautiful and so at home at this moment that it sent a series of burst happiness to Jinki.

“Stop it,”

Jonghyun swatted his back lazily, and Jinki laughed, pressing down to kiss him one more time before he moved to lie beside Jonghyun. His arms were about to go numb from how long he’s been holding himself up during their little kissing moments. Jinki was flat on his back, his eyes looking up at the drapes of the bed curtain and smiled when Jonghyun moved to snuggle into him, one of his legs tangled in between of his, and Jinki lifted up his left arm for Jonghyun to come closer. The weight of Jonghyun’s head on his chest was comforting and Jinki pressed his lips against the white hair just because he could.

“We need to make out more. That was good for my health,”

Jinki sighed and Jonghyun giggled into his chest.

“At this point, I’m going to stop from asking you to stop teasing me. Really, you are impossible,” Jonghyun huffed and Jinki smiled with ease.

“What are you going to do this evening?”

“Mm? I have been thinking to visit the library?”

Jinki hummed. That was a good choice. Jinki loved reading, had finished thousands of books even and he once spent hours in the library and got an earful from Kibum and Minho for skipping his meals.

“Good choice love. There’s some interesting books that still hold my interest. I’ll ask Joon to bring those out when you go this evening,”

“Joon?”

“Yes, he’s the Guardian who have been taking care of the library.”

Jonghyun peeked up Jinki, shaking his head a bit to remove his bang from his sight so he could look at Jinki properly.

“A close friend of yours too?”

Jinki shook his head and continued to run his fingers through the white hair when Jonghyun snuggled back into him.

“Not really? Not as close as the other three. But,”

“But?”

“He used to have feelings for me?”

Jonghyun raised up his eyebrows at the confession and wiggled a bit so that he could half lied on Jinki’s chest and looked down at him instead.

“Was that a question or a statement?”

Jinki chuckled, his fingers smoothing out the frown on Jonghyun’s face gently.

“A statement, I’m sorry for confusing you my love. However, there’s no need for the frown on your pretty face. It was a long time ago, and I didn’t reciprocate his feelings at all. I believed I already told him clearly who will have my heart, and he accepted that.”

Jonghyun hummed, and Jinki could feel the insecurity and doubt started to fill his soul mate’s head.

“I love you Jonghyun,” He confessed strongly, cupping Jonghyun’s face so the younger could see the sincerity in his eyes. “And…to be honest with you, even though I’m reaching the age of thousands years old, I…haven’t been with anyone else at all.”

And that, got Jonghyun’s eyes widening so wide that it worried Jinki for a moment whether his eyeballs would popped out or something. The younger scrambled to move and sit on his stomach, the shock and a hint of happiness radiating from Jonghyun were amusing to Jinki, and he let his soul mate moved around as he pleased. Once he settled down, Jinki’s hand went to rest on Jonghyun’s hips, thumbs rubbing the skin he found under the robe.

“You’re a ?!”

“Yep,”

He answered, popping the ‘p’ with a sunshine smile.

“B-But Jinki, you’re thousand years old! And Taemin told me that Guardians also actually feel the lust and will engage in ual activity when the time comes!”

Jinki frowned and tutted in displeasure, bopping Jonghyun’s nose.

“I don’t think I like it when you talk with Taemin about those things,”

“Jinki! I’m serious,”

Jinki huffed – what a statement, he was the one who was dead serious right here.

I am more serious. Why would you talk with Taemin about those things?”

Jinki whined, pinching Jonghyun’s hips to emphasize his point and that seemed to break Jonghyun out of his shock, who in turn gazed down at him with a helpless smile.

“Are you being serious right now?”

“I am!” Jinki huffed again, petulant like a child. “I mean, why?”

He complained again, like it was truly unbelievable for him and Jonghyun chuckled with a fondness that he didn’t bother to mask.

“We were talking about your long time crush and you’re whining about me talking about those with Taemin?”

“Yes, like, why won’t you ask me those?”

“Really? If I did, you’ll end up kissing me instead.”

“That’s it!” The Guardian claimed childishly. “Isn’t it’s better to show you, rather than telling you?”

Jonghyun outright laughed this time, shaking his head down at Jinki and the older pouted up at him.

“You’re impossible Jinki. Adorable, but impossible,”

“Hey!”

Jinki protested, opening his mouth to prove his point more when Jonghyun suddenly leaned down and pressed their lips together, effectively shutting him up.

“Then show it to me,” Jonghyun whispered with a shy grin that had Jinki’s heart skipped a beat. “Is it true that the Highest Guardian give the best kisses in the world?”

Jinki blinked at the double meaning question before he broke out into a smirk, eyes sharpening with a full intent on showing his lover the answer to that question.

“You’ll be the judge then,”

A/N: I read all of your comments, and they got me so motivated to write the next chapter, thank you so much! So here it is. But, I didn't realize it, but one the scenes had trigger my depressive episode, and I relapsed. I was okay, was writing it good, and suddenly I'm crying. I don't know when I'll be okay again, as in okay enough to write, but, please do pray for me. Thankie :3 sorry I was foolish enough to be like this - like what the hell am I doing that I trigger my own depressive slump? Bluh. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this, as much as I enjoyed writing it.
