final.

baby you're perfect (so lets start right now)

The house is dark and quiet and Sana almost feels bad for just throwing her shoes to the side when they enter the house, but heels are hard to navigate. Even more so when she’s had one too many shots. The house itself feels homey but a bit expensive or even fancy for Nayeon. She may have only known her a few weeks, but she’d like to think she’s had sort of known Nayeon.

Nayeon who had spent the last weeks confusing Sana because she’s unpredictable and high energy. Nayeon who always seems to have something up her sleeve, but also Nayeon who makes Sana feel free and feel excited. Nayeon who has probably caused Sana to feel more alive than she has in the last twenty-six years. Nayeon feels like something she can’t explain.

Even if Momo and Mina had made it clearly maybe her actions since she met Nayeon had a bit...adventurous. Her thoughts get pulled away by the way Nayeon almost knocks over a vase with her own snooping.

“I have to confess something,” Nayeon says as she peers into the kitchen one last time, still holding the almost toppled vase in her hands. “This isn’t my house, but my ex is out of town. And she for whatever reason didn’t change her security code for the house.”

Nayeon has a lopsided smile, the one that makes Sana’s heart beat a bit faster, the one that won over Sana the first time they met when they were in the bar so many weeks ago.

“So not only do our dates include accidental property damage to your best friends kitchen or stealing very expensive from your mom while you use me as a distraction...but now breaking and entering?”

“Is it breaking in if you technically just let yourself in? Or if you technically still have things here?”

“How long ago did you break up?”

“Like, six months ago,” and by the smirk that Nayeon gets Sana knows that Nayeon knows that it most definitely still counts as breaking and entering. “Besides, back to the mom thing. You’re the one that said you didn’t mind meeting her.”

“You told her we’d been dating for four months!”

Sana punctuates the end of her sentence by tugging the vase out of Nayeon’s hands and tries to place it back in the spot she at least thinks it was. She knows that Nayeon has the craziest of ideas, and maybe she should be wary about them but there’s something about her that makes Sana only want to spend more time with her. And maybe Nayeon had been right when she said Sana needed to learn to live a little.

Maybe Sana spending the last four years dedicated to her school work and making her father proud had left her feeling caged.

Maybe Nayeon was a bit crazy, but maybe she was the breath of fresh air Sana needed.

And maybe, yeah, Nayeon was like crazy hot and that had a lot to do with it.

Nayeon breaks her thought process with a simple question, “Do you remember what I said when we first met?”

“You just want to take me on an adventure.”

“Where are we going?” Sana questions as she’s tugged down the street from the bar, tripping over her own feet, not quite sure how Nayeon could be going so fast and steady when they both had the same amount of alcohol. It was a lot of alcohol.

“I want to take you on an adventure. Doesn’t that sound fun?”

“Maybe if I hadn’t just met you three hours ago. You could be taking me to the place where you plan to murder you.”

“Is that what your friends said?”

Sana feels her face heat up, but nods. Mina had made it very clear that Nayeon’s forwardness had made her feel a little cautious. Momo had said the same, but Sana has a feeling that Momo would say anything if it meant agreeing with her slightly annoyed girlfriend. Sana can’t blame her, an angry Mina is not exactly the best thing.

Sana supposes however, that’s the exact sight that’s awaiting her when she finally gets back to their shared apartment.

“Yes,” Sana finally whispers. “They said you seemed dangerous.”

“Aw! Nice, I’ve always wanted to come off kind of cool and mysterious-”

“They also called you mostly likely crazy,” Sana interrupts. Which only causes Nayeon to pout, and though Sana would like to say she didn’t react. She did. She couldn’t help but laugh a little.

“Hey stop that!”

“Sorry, you’re kind of cute.”

“Only kind of? I’ll have you know, I’m very cute.”

Sana finally catches up with Nayeon, and isn’t being tugged so much anymore, but is instead, holding Nayeon’s hand as she lets her lead.

“Where are we going?”

“Do you like star watching?”

“Maybe?”

“I’ll take that as a yes. I know the perfect place.”

“It’s three in the morning!” Sana couldn’t help but give her a bit of a confused look. She doesn’t usually leave with a girl to go star watching. Actually, she never does that. Why would she even anticipate that?

“It’s never too late to go star watching.”

When Sana pulls herself out of her thoughts, Nayeon’s moved from where she was leaning against the wall. Instead she has her arm wrapped around Sana’s frame, the free hand has cupped her jaw. Sana sees the soft look she gets when she thinks she’s pushed Sana too much and she can’t help but move just enough to press a kiss to Nayeon’s palm. She moves to press her hand against the one on her face, tugging it just enough so she can hold it instead of letting it rest there.

“Stop looking like you’re so worried,” Sana finally whispers. “I told you, I would tell you when I felt uncomfortable doing something. Your ex was ing crazy to let you go.”

“It wasn’t so much that she let me go, as I told her to off.”

Sana can’t help but look a little curious at that. On their normal dates, to coffee shops and when Nayeon picks Sana up from work, not much has been shared from the other. Sana could talk all day about her studies, her family, or how grossly in love Mina and Momo are.

But Nayeon gets quiet about her life, it’s not that she hasn’t shared anything, she has. Sana knows about how she lives a strained relationship with her dad and how her mother tries to be attentive now because she wasn’t for.

She knows that Nayeon is probably the way she is because she lived a very controlled life growing up. But she doesn’t know much more, not about her exes, and maybe that’s because they’ve only been dating in total about six weeks. But with every little information tidbit, she gets from Nayeon she stores away.

No matter how much Mina and Momo voice how they aren’t sure Nayeon is good for...she can’t help but want something more with Nayeon.

“Want to tell me what happened?” She finally asks after a bit of silence, she had hoped that Nayeon would continue on by herself.

“She cheated on me,” Nayeon’s voice is just a whisper, Sana almost has to strain to hear it. “And so I told her to off.”

Sana laughs a little at that, but only because Nayeon ends what she says with her own.

“And now we’ve broken into her very fancy home too…”

“To steal her wine and swim in her pool,” Nayeon finishes the slightly unspoken question.

“Excuse me, I don’t have a swimsuit,” But that didn’t seem to matter because within seconds, Sana’s being tugged by the girl toward the back door.

And if the house had seemed fancy than the backyard had seemed extravagant. How could one person need so much space?

Nayeon must notice her shock because she only laughs, “Jihyo has always been a bit...extra when it came to getting things she wanted. When we got this place, she was the worst, because house hunting with her was exhausting. She almost redid the whole thing back here. This pool was the one thing she wanted the most. And well, she’s not exactly lacking in the money department, so I wasn’t going to say no.”

Sana tries not to looked shocked, it would make sense this would her place too, after all. She did know the security code to get in. But perhaps she frowns a little.

“I can’t tell if you’re frowning because you’re mad on my behalf or if because of something else,” Nayeon speaks but she’s still moving to take off her shoes because unlike Sana she didn’t get rid of hers as soon as they got there.

“I’m frowning because you speak so easily about something that hurt you, and well. I don’t like that you’ve been hurt.”

“You’re cute, babe.” Nayeon almost looks a little amused and Sana can only feel her cheeks flare up again.

“Shut up! And what are you doing?”
“Uh, going to swim?”

Sana can only squint her eyes, because perhaps Nayeon is a little crazy, “In your dress?”

“Uh, yeah. Come on! Live a little.”

“Wouldn’t that mean we wouldn’t be in our clothes.”

“Do you want to see me , Sana? I’m scandalized!”

Sana can’t help but roll her eyes, instead of moving to take off the tights she had on. If she’s going in her dress, she’s at least going to be comfortable while going in there.

“Okay, says the one that tried to pull my top off at a diner last week.”

“Hmph, well you were taking forever to leave.”

“Yeah, because your was trying to take my top off!”

Sana would love to have heard what Nayeon’s response was, but apparently while she was too distracted finally tugging off that small amount of clothing, Nayeon had come up behind her and picked her up and thrown her over her shoulder, and all Sana could do was scream.

“Hey! Stop screaming! We’ll get caught.”

“You’re gonna be less worried about that and more worried about something else if you don’t put me down, Nayeon!”

Somehow, Sana just knew that Nayeon was smirking, she could almost hear it in her voice.

“You want to be put down?”

“Didn’t I just say that Nayeon?”

“Okay wait, to clarify, you want to be put down.”

“Yes for the last time Nayeon! If you don’t put me-” Sana was underwater before she could even finish her sentence. Somehow, Sana should have just known with the way that Nayeon had been asking, that this was her plan. But by the time she surfaced all she could do was sputter out the water that had entered and glare up at Nayeon.

“You said you wanted to be put down!”

“Yeah, but you damn sure well known I didn’t mean in here,” She gestured the with a splash to the pool. “Get your in here.”

“Hmmm, what if I just want to sit on the side for a bit,” Nayeon says almost teasing as she sets herself on the edge.

Except, Nayeon who may have definitely known this was gonna happen, was tugged directly in the water by her feet, as soon as Sana had wadded over to her. Because as soon as she surfaced, she threw her hair back out of her face and all that could be seen as a smile.

“Hi baby,” Nayeon said with that same stupid smile that Sana loves.

“Hi babe,” Sana replies, letting Nayeon move them so Sana’s back is to the wall, and Nayeon’s all but trapped her there.

“What are you thinking about?”

“That maybe my friends are right, and you’re ing crazy.”

Nayeon pouts but besides that, she doesn’t answer, there’s almost a flicker of nervousness in her eyes.

“You know what else I’m thinking about?”

“Hm?”

“How happy I get when I’m with you.”

This time it’s Nayeon’s cheeks that turn a tint of red, and Sana almost feels a bit victorious about it. Her arms come to wrap around Nayeon’s neck.

“I make you happy?”

“You make me feel...like I can forget the stress that I know. When I’m with you, I remember what it’s like to be happy.”

And for a second, Sana forgets they broke into someone’s house and that again, Sana could very likely get her in huge trouble and that once again, her friends are right. Nayeon is a bit crazy, but maybe that kind of crazy is what Sana needs in her life.

“What else?”

“What else what?”

“What else are you thinking about?”

Sana feels her own smirk this time, it’s a rare occasion that she’s the one that gets to be a bit smug, and that Nayeon’s the one that’s nervous.

“Thinking about how, if you wanted, I could be the only person you’re crazy with.”

And perhaps, Sana noticed the quick intake of breath Nayeon makes, but she doesn’t comment.

“I’m thinking about that too.”

“Are you asking me to be your girlfriend, but poorly.”

“Hey! I’m doing this poorly.”

“You had me break into your ex-girlfriends house to swim fully clothed in her pool.”

“That isn’t poorly, that’s doing this in style. Nayeon style.”

Sana can’t help laugh for real at that, it’s been building the whole night. She laughs so hard that she has to lean her forehead against Nayeon’s shoulder, but she doesn’t move even after she’s done laughing.

“Ask me properly, Nayeon.”

It takes a moment, and there’s a bit of silence. Sana almost fears that she won’t ask.

“Want to be crazy with me, Sana? Just you and me?”

“Yeah, I’ll be crazy with you.”

Sana feels the way Nayeon’s arms just tighten their hold fractionally, and she contemplates just staying there for a moment. But if they did that, it wouldn’t be them.

“Kiss me, dummy.”

“Okay. But after we have to get out of here, I’m freezing.”
