The Party

Truthful Love

Jimin was walking down the street heading to the usual cafe. He was supposed to meet up with his best friend, Jung Hoseok.

When he entered, he immediately spotted his happy friend. Hoseok immediatly waved him over after catching sight of him entering.

"What took you so long? I thought I was gonna die before you got here!" Jimin punched his arm, causing Hoseok to wince but also laugh.

Jimin rolled his eyes at Hoseok's antics. "Whatever. Anyway you said you wanted to talk?"

"Oh right!" Hoseok's eyes lit up as he leaned on the table excitedly. "Joon is throwing a party tonight!  And you are going!"

Jimin frowned. "You know I hate parties. Why do I have to go?"

Hoseok rolled his eyes. "Because you have been stuck in your apartment for three weeks. You haven't left except to go to work at the bookstore. All you do is sit there and read... Both at home and at the bookstore."

Jimin pursed his lips. "You need to  get out more, Jimin. Come to the party and just have some fun. It won't be that many people anyway. Joon said he only invited like… four other people."

Jimin looked down at the table in thought. He guessed Hoseok had a point. Besides what harm could one party really do? He sighed and looked to Hoseok.

Hoseok grinned knowing he had won. "Great! Now, after we eat we can go get ready. The party starts at six, and I want to look dashing."

"So your crush is supposed to be there, huh?" The smirk on Jimin's face caused Hoseok to scoff. "That means I will finally get to meet him." Jimin grinned. "This might be fun after all."

Hoseok immediatly shot down Jimin's hopeful thoughts. "Oh no you don't. You are not gonna ruin my chances with him. Seokjin is a whole man, and I will not have you ruin this for me."

Jimin pulled out his greatest weapon on Hoseok at that moment. The puppy dog pout. "I wasn't going to do anything."

Hoseok groaned. "Fine you can meet him." Jimin did a little happy dance in his chair. But hoseok continued. "But! If you bring up one thing that could possibly embarrass me. I will disown you."

Jimin grinned but nodded anyway.

After two hours of trying to get Hoseok an outfit that he was happy to wear, it was Jimin's turn to find an outfit. He didn't really care, but Hoseok refused to let him wear just anything.

After an hour of Hoseok going through Jimin's closet, he finaly handed Jimin an outfit that he felt would work for the party.

They managed to get to the party just at 6. Namjoon opened the door for them, revealing four other guys already on the couch. Jimin couldn't help but scan over each of them.

One spacifically caught his attention. Jimin knew the guy from one of his classes. The guy was pretty smart. Jimin had thought he was cute when he saw him the first day of class. Jimin recalled the day perfectly...

the flashback

They had ended up having a long conversation that morning before class and exchanged numbers after. His friendship with the younger male had actually become just that, a real friendship. Jimin couldn't help but give Jungkook and his outfit a second once over.

He had to admit that the outfit did wonders for Jungkook's form. Soon Jimin was pulled out of his thoughts as Hosek's laugh echoed around the room. The red solo cup in Jimin's hand was quickly emptied and refilled before he went over to socialize.

About an hour into the party, everyone was fairly drunk. Jimin was sitting on the arm of the couch next to namjoon. He was quiet. Normally he would be a loud drunk, but he was lost in his thoughts.

His eyes wondering over to Jungkook every once in a while. He couldn't think of much else in his drunken state. But one thing did cross his mind.

'I wonder if there is something he doesn't like about me?' This thought bounced around his head for a while until he couldn't take it anymore. Even though he was drunk, he knew he couldn't just ask Jungkook the question...

Then an idea poped into his mind. Jimin grinned and loudly suggested his idea. "Guuuuyyyyys!!!! Why don't we play a game?! Truth or Dare!!" All of the guys were up for the idea.

Soon everyone was in a circle on the floor. Jimin made sure he was directly across from Jungkook.

Namjoon spoke first. "Since it's my party, I'll start." No one bothered to argue. "Jimin, it was your idea to play the game... Truth or dare?"

Jimin bit his lip. "Truth…"

Namjoon smirk. "Who here do you know a secret about?" Jimin looked between Jungkook, Namjoon, and Hoseok. Hoseok seemed to sober up a bit at the question.

Hoseok and Jimin locked eyes. Jimin looked at Namjoon a smile on his face. "I know a secret about Hoseok." Soon everyone was asking what the secret was. Hoseok just stared at Jimin.

"You never asked what the secret was. Only who I knew a secret about. Now it's my turn." Everyone shut up at that, letting Jimin have his turn.

Jimin pretends to think things over before asking Jungkook for his turn. "Jungkook, truth or dare?" Jimin had his fingers crossed mentally for Jungkook to say truth.

To Jimin's releif, Jungkook did say truth. Some of the guys rolled their eyes, but Jimin tilted his head with a smile. "What is your least favourite thing about me?"

Jungkook gulped and hesitated. "Um...... That's hard to answer."

"Why?" Jimin was no longer smiling. He was terrified inside. But he was also curious as to how the question was so hard to answer.

"Because......" Jungkook paused again.

Yoongi, someone who hadn't really gotten along well with Jimin since the met, decided to speak up. "Because you hate everything about him?" Jimin looked really hurt by the comment as SeokJin, Hoseok, and Taehyung laughed.

Jungkook was quick to respond to Yoongi, after seeing Jimin's expression. "NO! That is not true at all!" Everyone went silent....

Jimin tilts his head in confusion before softly speaking up. "Then why is it so hard to answer, Jungkook?"

He blushed and looked away muttering his answer.

"Because... I like everything about you."

The room was quiet. Jimin could only stare at Jungkook for several long moments. Finally Jimin shook himself out of his frozen state. He didn't know what to say, but he knew he would be blushing any second. He quickly excused himself.

Jimin had never expected that answer. He was expecting something like the way he talked or the way he sneezed or.... Well anything except for that answer.

Jimin had gone outside after excusing himself. His heart was racing. The words Jungkook had spoken had stirred up a newer emotion in Jimin.

He had had flings in the past. But never a real relationship. So the emotions he felt right then were practically brand new.

The cool night air brushed across Jimin's face. With his thoughts and heart both racing, Jimin didn't hear the front door open and close behind him. He didn't realize anyone was outside with him until a jacket was placed on his shoulders.

Jimin snapped his head to the side to come eye to eye with Jungkook. His couldn't breathe as they just stared into each others eyes.

Jimin came back to his senses as Jungkook broke the silence. "I'm sorry." Jungkook's quiet voice sent flutters to Jimin's heart.

Then the words registered. Jimin's fingers curled tightly into the jacket that had been placed on his shoulders. He pulled it tighter around him. He curled into himself just the slightest bit.

"Wait. Why are you sorry?" Jungkook sighed and looked down at his feet.

"I… I didn't mean to spring my feelings on you like that." Jimin gave Jungkook a soft smile.

"You shouldn't be sorry for that." Jimin let one of his hands reach out to lift Jungkook's face up.

"But... You practically ran out here afterwards... I thought I had scared you off." Jungkook looked so confused, and it actually broke Jimin's heart to hear that.

"Oh no, Kookie. I promise, that wasn't why I left." Jimin's hand that had been holding Jungkook's chin moves up to his cheek. "I... I just didn't know what to say... Well more like how to say anything at all..."

Jungkook was really confused at Jimin's word and it showed on his face. "I... I don't understand Jimin."

Jimin his lips. He still wasn't 100% sure of his feelings for Jungkook, but he was sure of one thing. He was sure of how Jungkook made him feel. He was sure that Jungkook could always lift his mood.

"I care a lot about you Jungkook. Your answer had surprised the hell out of me. I had expected you to list something, anything that you didn't like about me-"

Jungkook's voice cut Jimin's off. "But its so hard to dislike anything about you." Jimin couldn't keep the blush from his face this time.

Jimin pulled his hand back and gripped the jacket again. "I-...." Jimin shook his head. "Let me finish. Please. If you interrupt, I may loose my nerve." Jungkook nodded quitely.

"When you answered the way you did." Jimin's grip tightened on the jacket. "I didn't know how to react. I felt..." Jimin didn't know how to title the feelings he had at the moment.

So he just called it as best he could. "I felt an emotion... I had never really felt before." Jungkook took a step closer to Jimin, but Jimin didn't even notice.

His heart was racing, and his mind was too unclear to notice the movement. "What was the emotion?" Jungkook's voice was soft. Quiet even.

Jimin shook his head. Eyes still looking into Jungkook's. "I don't know."

"Then explain what you felt. Maybe I can give it a name."

The butterflies in Jimin's stomach were at full force at Jungkook's words. "Well... My stomach feels funny...." Jungkook took another step closer. Their faces mere centimeters away.

"What else?" Jungkook's breath fanned Jimin's face.

Jimin gulped and his lips. His eyes glancing quickly down to Jungkook's lips before returning to his eyes. "My throat feels incredibly dry..."

Jungkook lifts a hand to Jimin's cheek. "That means you have feelings for me, Jimin. You like me."

Jimin doesn't move. His eyes are wide, but its natural and not from surprise or fear. Just as he opened his mouth to respond, lips attached to his.

Jimin doesnt even hesitate to kiss Jungkook back. His hands released the jacket, only for his arms to wrap around Jungkook's neck as the kiss deepened. The jacket fell carelessly to the ground. Though neither of the boys noticed.
