Jisoo's POV

 

“Hey is this the flower shop?”

 

 

“…….”

 

 

“I was wondering if I can follow up the delivery of the bouquet of flowers?”

 

“….:”

 

“10 minutes? Ok, thank you”

 

 

I placed the phone back in my pocket, waiting for the delivery guy to arrive

“Unnie, unnie look!” Jennie bragged the bouquet of Hyacinth that she was currently holding, showing me a card with a lovely quote and HIS name written in it

 

 

“He is so sweet Unnie! He even knows my favorite flower!” she looks so cute, her chubby cheeks are tinted with pink as she smiled dreamily at me. She looks so happy, her gummy smile are on full display

 

 

“Yeah? Well what are you waiting for? Put it inside a vase filled with water before it withers” I forced a smile out while lightly pushing her. She giggled and oh god the effect on me. I’ll do everything to make her that happy, I’ll even fight the whole world for it but the greatest enemy right now is myself 

 

 

My phone vibrated, indicating a new message so I took it out and HIS name displayed on the screen, I opened my messages and as soon as it opened, I fought the urge to roll my eyes 

 

 

•Jisoo unnie! Thank you for giving her flowers, I owe you one!

 

 

I just ignored his text, and frankly, he don’t just owe me “one”, he owe me his whole life at this point because of the amount of favors I kept on doing for him. 

 

 

So yes, I was the one who gave Jennie her flowers, and the chocolates before that, and the jewelries before that, in short. I gave her all the gifts that Kai supposedly gave, mind you, he didn’t even thought of giving her any of that, I did the initiative because I can’t afford seeing Jennie sad whenever he’s missing in action, which is most of the time. 

 

 

Of course It hurts, but I would sacrifice anything just to see her smile like that

One particular night though, Jennie was so mad that Kai forgot about their anniversary that she chose to get wasted and of course, Rosé and Lisa left Jennie to my responsibility.

 

 

“You know Jisoo Unnie, why didn’t I just fell in love with you?”

 

 

I choked on the iced tea I was drinking and looked at her incredulously 

 

 

“Yah Jennie you’re drunk”

 

 

She just looked at me, like she’s examining my whole existence, and I never felt so vulnerable my entire life

 

 

“Im serious Unnie, you’re so dependable, kind, understandable and caring, you’re there whenever people need you the most, the person you’ll love will be so lucky” 

 

 

She looks so beautiful right now, her disheveled hair and red face made her look even more breathtaking. Why is she so perfect? And God those eyes, how am I still alive? That look she’s giving me is my fatality 

 

 

I reached out and cupped her face, I brushed my thumbs over her blushed cheeks as she leaned onto my touch more “If only you knew” I whispered 

 

She groggily stood up from her side of the couch and sat on my lap, curling her body with her head rested on my shoulder, I can feel her even breaths hitting my neck as she took my arm and wrapped it around herself. I nuzzled my face on her hair and breathed heavily 

 

 

I wish we can stay like this forever, just me and Jennie, no judging eyes, no Kai, no broken hearts, just sweet and comfortable bliss, but Reality is a cruel thing. Jennie lightly grumbled out the word “cold” so I took the blanket neatly folded beside us and covered our bodies. I placed my arms back around her and kissed her forehead lightly 

 

“Goodnight Jendeuk” was my last words as I drifted off to dreamland

“Does this look good on me?” She asked as she showed off her body fitting black dress, no doubt it looked good on her, but did you really think I’ll allow her to wear that? 

 

 

Yes, they’re going on a date, and Jennie asked me to be the judge of her outfits. And like the masochist that I am, I said yes

 

 

“Everything looks good on you, but it’s freezing out, wear something warmer. I don’t want you to catch a cold” I said instead

 

 

“How about this?” I took out a black long sleeved sundress and thankfully, she seems pleased with it

 

“Unnie you’re so over protective” she chuckled while playfully hitting me, she grabbed the outfit that I was holding and proceeded to remove the dress she’s currently wearing. I thought my eyes were about to pop out of my sockets. 

 

“W-what are you doing?” I stuttered as I feel my heart about to combust 

 

“What else Unnie? I’m changing” and she continued her torturous act, little by little her glowing skin revealed itself and it took all my self  control to not rip that hindrance and to turn around, calming myself down.

 

“I’m done!” she called out so I turned back around and almost plummeted to the ground at the sight that greeted me 

 

 

“You’re beautiful” I was held captive by her eyes, it held so much happiness that I can’t help but crack a grin

 

 

“Thank you” she muttered shyly, with pink tinting her cheeks 

 

I stared at her entirety, it pains me to remember that all of this is for him, all of Jennie’s efforts to look appealing is for his satisfaction. With this in mind, I walked towards my coat stand and took my thick trench coat and  my scarf. 

 

 

I walked around her and opened the trench coat, indicating for her to put her arms in the arm holes, when she did, I placed the trench coat over her and turned her around to face me

 

 

I was too engrossed in buttoning up the coat that I only noticed her staring at me with so much admiration, completed with her gummy smile when I was placing the scarf around her neck

 

“Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked her while still working on the scarf 

 

 

“Nothing”

 

 

I admired my work and smiled in contempt “done” when I look up, she’s still looking at me like that

 

 

“seriously why?”

 

 

“Thank you for everything Unnie” she ran to me and kissed my cheek, walking away soon after. I touched the part  that she kissed and smiled dopily. The doorbell ringing snapped me out of my daydream and I already knew who’s behind that door. 

 

 

I opened the door and Kai stood there, smiling “lucky bastard” I grumbled lowly.

 

 

“Hi Unnie, is Jennie there?” He asked 

 

 

“Jennie! Your date is here!” that was painful, saying it out loud makes it even more unbearable.

 

 

“I’m coming!” she shouted 

 

I turned my attention back at him and noticed that he didn’t bring anything to give her 

 

“You didn’t even bring flowers or chocolates?  For s sake Kai get your together” 

 

He smiled at me sheepishly and was about to say something when soft footsteps approached us

 

I turned around and checked Jennie for the last time, when I didn’t see anything out of place, I smiled and kissed her forehead “You’re ready, go on now”

 

She walked towards the elevator with a skip on her step, but before going inside, she shouted “Bye Unnie!” When the elevator’s door is finally closed, I looked back at Kai

 

 

“Now you, I swear to God if I see any wound or bruise on Jennie’s skin when she comes back, I won’t hesitate to kill you, she’s more fragile than any glass in this world so treat her like a princess. Are we clear?” I said with full authority, making sure that every word sunk in.

 

 

“Yes Ma’am” he replied nervously 

 

 

“What are you waiting for? Don’t make her wait”  he turned around and almost ran to the elevator

Jennie’s POV

 

 

I’m so nervous right now but Jisoo’s sent on the trench coat and on the scarf seems to calm me down. 

 

 

“Hey, what’s on your mind?” Kai started, making me look at him

 

 

“N-nothing, I was just wondering where we’re going” 

 

 

“we’re going to the amusement park” he said while smiling widely 

 

 

I can’t help but feel excited myself, Jisoo and I loves going there. 

 

 

Silence surrounded the car, until he turned to look at me “You’re beautiful” he said with appreciative eyes, I smiled back at him “You look dashing yourself” He was wearing a black trench coat and a scarf like me. 

 

 

I remembered when Jisoo said that to me earlier, my heart warmed at the thought, I can feel my face blushing once again and I don’t if it’s because of Kai’s compliment or Jisoo’s but I hope it’s the former. The rest of the car ride went by with small talks.

 

“we’re here” the vehicle suddenly stopped and Kai turned off the ignition, he went out of the vehicle and opened the car door for me “thank you”

 

 

We walked side by side until we reached the amusement park’s entrance and Kai gave the guard our tickets 

 

 

“let’s start with mini games first” he walked ahead of me and I followed, we went near a shooting stand and Kai paid for six tries 

 

 

“the goal of the game is to shoot 3 ducks, if you successfully do so, you can choose any stuff animal you want in the display, good luck ” The staff explained monotonously like he said those exact same lines a thousand times already 

 

 

I tried it first, and as I expected, I missed the last one. I grumpily gave Kai the gun and he just chuckled “It’s ok Jennie, I’ll avenge you” and like he said, he shot all of them perfectly and he successfully got a stuffed animal in which he gave me immediately.

 

 

I can’t help but think of the time me and Jisoo played this exact game stall

 

 

“Watch and learn Jendeuk” she said as the same thing happened to me 

 

 

She had this game face on as she held her breath and aimed her gun, the tension is so strong, her aura screams professional as she shot the gun… and voila she didn’t hit a single thing. I bursted out laughing as she looked at me with a frown on her face 

 

 

“something’s wrong with the gun Jendeukie! I’m telling you, someone sabotaged me!” she said trying to regain her pride back but I just laughed at her and pinched her cheeks 

 

“I believe you Unnie, it’s ok, there are a lot more stands out here” I said while I proceeded to walk away, but before I got out of earshot, I heard her speak to the staff. 

 

“Hey, I’ll give you a thousand bucks for that stuffed animal, I’m not gonna tell your manager I swear” 

 

 

And that’s how I got my stuffed bear at home

 

Kai’s waving hand snapped me back to the present, I didn’t even realize I was smiling so much 

 

 

“Earth to Jennie” Kai called out so I looked up at him

 

 

“Sorry, I just remembered something, so let’s go?” 

 

 

The rest of the date went amazingly, Kai made it more enjoyable and lighthearted. We played more games and rode more rides but somehow, Jisoo made her way in my mind once in a while.

 

We finally arrived home and Kai volunteered to accompany me up to our dorm, when we reached our door we stopped for a minute, I'm pretty sure I know where this is going 

 

 

“I hope you enjoyed our date” He said 

 

 

“Of course I did, you’ve been a lovely date” I stated honestly, he just stared at me and he was about to lean down when our door suddenly opened, hitting him in the face

 

“Oh Kai, I’m so sorry I didn’t know you two arrived already, come in” Jisoo invited innocently, but I know those eyes 

 

 

“It’s ok Unnie, I’m about to go anyways. Bye Unnie, Bye Jennie” He waved goodbye before going inside the elevator 

 

 

“Now you, go to sleep, we have a lot to do tomorrow” she instructed

 

 

“Yes mom” she grumbled at the title, I chuckled amused and ran up to my room

Jisoo’s POV 

 

I already know something’s wrong when I woke up and I got a thousand notifications on my phone and I hear a silent sobbing on Jennie’s room. My heart suddenly clenched at the sound, begging for me to go there and comfort her. 

 

 

I hurriedly ran to her room, not caring about my physical appearance, the door is locked and Lisa and Rosé are standing outside trying to get in 

 

 

“She won’t let us in Unnie” Rosè informed me so I tried to knock on the door”

 

 

“Jennie yah?” I called out softly 

 

“Go away!” I heard her choke out

 

“Jennie it’s me Jisoo, and I’m not going away until you let me inside” 

 

 

"stubborn" a muffled voice said inside the room

 

We heard silent footsteps, and the door opened, Jennie pulling me inside quickly through the front of my shirt and locking the door back again. She dragged me to her bed and made me lay down facing her, she laid down in front of me, curling up soon after and hid her face on the crook of my neck. Her hands on my chest. 

 

 

I instinctively wrapped my arms around her shaking body protectively as she sobbed uncontrollably, I rubbed her back as I whispered sweet nothings to sooth her down. When she calmed down and her breathing went back to normal I asked her the question 

 

 

“What happened Jennie?” I said trying to unclasp myself but she tightens her hold 

 

 

“T-they t-took a p-picture of u-us” And I understood right away, with no further explanations, It made me angry, I was burning with rage and Jennie’s vulnerable state added fuel to the flame, they invaded Jennie's private life and made it their fame, not thinking about Jennie's feelings like some heartless pigs

 

“I’m not gonna let anything happen to you or this group, you guys are my family, even if I sacrifice myself” I said more determined than ever 

 

 

I her hair until she finally fell asleep in my arms, her even breaths hitting my neck

 

 

“I Love you Jennie” I kissed her forehead and slowly removed her balled up fist on my shirt and stood up quietly

 

 

I covered her with the blanket and closed the lights. When I was about to open the door, I heard her whisper “Kai I love-”, I didn’t let her finish because I know it will break me, the pain I felt was unbearable, I’d rather be stabbed than to feel this again

 

 

I just proceeded to open the door and explained what happened to our two members, they look so concerned, frowns adorning their faces. After I finished explaining, Rosé calmed the fuming Lisa before she does anything that she will regret at the end 

 

 

“Go and do your morning routines, I can smell from you two and it’s unpleasant” They shot me a glare before obeying and both walking inside the bathroom 

 

 

I shook my head before taking a bath and dressing up myself 

 

 

After I finished taking a bath, I prepared a meal of bacon and eggs with strawberries as a dessert, with orange juice to wash it all down for Jennie. I placed everything carefully in a tray and carried it to Jennie's room

 

 

I placed the tray on the bedside table and opened the curtains, sunlight suddenly bathing the room making my eyes adjust a bit. I looked at the sleeping figure on the bed. The sun’s light made her glow like she just ascended from the heavens, she looks so peaceful and worry free, I almost didn’t want to wake her up but she needs to eat 

 

“Jennie yah? Wake up, you need to eat” she slowly opened her eyes and rubbed her sleep away, my heart warming up from the adorable sight 

 

 

“I prepared food, I hope it’s edible enough, you know that I’m not that good in cooking, and I-“

 

“It’s delicious Unnie” she interrupted with full, she must be really hungry because she’s taking bite after bite. I can’t help but be proud of myself, the person I love is enjoying something I made

 

“Open your mouth Unnie” she said with a spoon full of food directed towards me

 

 

“No, it’s for you” she frowned 

 

 

“Please? I know you when you’re worried, you take care of the person too much that you disregard yourself, I know you’re hungry Unnie, besides I’m already full” I hate how she knows me so much, I was about to reach for the spoon but she avoided her hand

 

“Nuh uh, I want to feed you” she looks so precious right now, but I know underneath that smile, is a scared and sad Jennie so even if it’s against me, I opened my mouth and ate the food that she gave me, scratch that, she kept on giving me, because she isn’t satisfied until I finished the remaining food in her plate 

 

“Eat mooreee” 

 

 

“I’m so full Jennie yah!”

 

“come onnn, eat it”

 

 

My playful side suddenly jumped out so I grabbed the tray and the spoon she’s holding and placed it on the bedside table

 

 

“I said I don’t want to”

 

 

I pounced on her making her fall back on the bed with me in between her legs, I tickled her mercilessly, she’s letting out the cutest giggles I have the honor to hear

 

 

“stop, stop I’m not gonna do it again” she lets out in between laughs

 

“Promise?” I said still tickling her

 

 

“Yes, I promise! I can’t breathe!”

 

 

I finally stopped and just fully admired her

 

I almost gasp at the view, her brown hair surrounded her face which is still red from laughing too much, her chest heaving up and down. She’s looking at me with those hooded eyes and in a snap, she puts her arms around my neck and pulled me down, making me see every detail more clearly. She’s so close that I’m not surprised if she can feel the fast beating of my heart 

 

“Jisoo yah” was the last thing I heard before I felt soft lips pressed against mine, It’s the most amazing feeling I’ve ever felt in this world, I cupped her cheeks and deepened the kiss even more. I know this is wrong she loves Kai, but it feels so right. I pulled myself away and placed my forehead against hers, both of us catching our breath

 

I laid on my back beside her and she laid down on my arm curling herself on my side, tangling our legs and hiding herself on the crook of my neck, I think that’s her favorite place to hide, I chuckled at that thought. 

 

 

“I love you Jisoo yah” was her last words before going to sleep. I know it’s completely platonic and I know that she only kissed me because she’s emotionally driven, but let me be a fool just this once and make me believe in something impossible
