And all the kids cried out, "Please stop, you're scaring me" I can't help this awful energy. God damn right, you should be scared of me.. Who is in control? (Halsey - Control)

"I just want to feel alive."

Thunder cracked loudly like a whip from outside the small row of curtainless double windows, snapping and startling, harsh crackling like a laugh in the night and your eyes jolted open in mere seconds, with a startled gasp escaping your lips. It was as if the words were whispered in your ear, curling and circling your mind like smoke. Where were you? Your chest rose and fell rapidly with frantic breaths, as what sounded like a wave of blood rushed through your ears in the panic.

Had you been asleep? You blinked to yourself in the darkness before realizing that yes, it seemed likely for you laid sprawled about like a doll on what felt like the cold hardness of flooring, indefinitely out like a light.

What the -? Floor? Why am I on the floor?’ you wondered, thought flashing through your mind, furrowing the skin of your forehead in confusion, as you wracked your brain for a burst of inspiration, for a memory that would explain your predicament. And you were met with nothing - a cloak of blackness clouding your mind with a numbing fuzzy sensation, leaving you just as knowledgeable as you were five seconds ago.

That’s weird,’ none of this was making any sense. Why the hell were you here? What even was 'here,' was the real question. You narrowed your eyes in the dark, and couldn’t quite adjust them to see anything just yet, ‘huh, well maybe I’ll remember after I fully wake up?’ Yeah, that seemed like a logical idea, and with a small, determined nod, you began to push up off of the ground with the palms of your hands until you made it into a sitting position before dropping your arms to dangle limply by your sides.

Ahh, that’s better,’ hair fell in curtains around your frame, and for a few seconds, the world felt still and right again. But those seconds didn't last long enough for a sharp huff left your throat when a strange wave of pain abruptly washed over you in a new intensity. Pain burned searing hot through your veins, making your vision flash white and you cried out, immediately curling in on yourself, clutching your hands to the material of your shirt in tight fists, trying to stay awake and alert for the harsh prickles threatened to make you pass out under the weight.

It was hard to breathe, to even see, or concentrate on anything with this horrible dizziness that kept your brain fuzzy. You let out a pained groan, and your hands fly up to your head, clutching it in a desperate attempt to clear it to no avail.

What happened to me? I don’t remember getting hurt… Or anything at all.’ Your heart pounded furiously against your ribcage, threatening to bust right out of its confines with the heavy rhythm, and you couldn’t place it, the pain burning from every crevice of your body, all at once and so much that god, you had to be dying. This is what it is. You were dying, alone, in some dark room in the middle of the night. Without any sign of friends or family, nothing. And, to top it all off, you couldn't remember a damned thing.

You glance with wide eyes around the corners of the pitch black, unfamiliar room and alarm pumped through you. Was this actually a familiar place? Or could you just not remember? The whole situation was terrifying and the sheer intensity of the situation was weighing down on you like ice water being dumped over your head.

This was serious. This was bad.

"Wait. What's going on? Where- Where am I?" You stammered out, voice raspy from disuse and high pitched with a shrill sense of unadulterated fear and confusion that somehow managed to bubble up from your chest and consume your in a minutes notice. Your body trembled like a newborn fawn, shaking wildly just as your breath turned from gentle puffs to outright gasps, burning your throat and eyes, making your entire body ache with exertion.

Uncertainty gripped you in its unforgiving clutches, signs of danger flashing through your mind on repeat like some kind of silent mantra and none of this was right. You couldn’t remember, you just couldn’t… But this wasn’t right, you just knew it! This, this was wrong, so wrong. The churning in your gut was a sure sign that something wasn’t right, and you couldn’t shake the feeling of dread wound up tight in your stomach like a knot as if a bad omen or evil was lurking close by. But you couldn’t see or hear anything except for the storm roaring on both in your mind and outside.

'Nonono, noooo, this can't be right, this just can't be!' Your hands shook as you wiped your head around to the only source of light. A small and dark stream pouring onto the chipped polish of dark hardwood floors that looked nothing like anything you could remember, to your horror. But, then again, you couldn't recall a single thing.

Not trusting your weak legs to work, you crawled your way to it, eyes burning with the need to see something, anything to tell you the source of your location out of the windows. That had to be the only way of knowing. Once you saw something, a building or a silhouette, maybe then you’d remember? It would all come back to you and then something would make sense, right? The pattern of rain bathed you in a soft glow from outsight in the consuming dark grey of the night sky and shielded your wild, searching gaze from any possible view and dread panged your chest ten-fold.

Trapped. You were trapped. You quickly flew to your feet and on shaking legs, stumbled across the room barely making it to the wall and hands moving at the speed of light, you fumbled around for a doorknob, for any way out.

“No. No, please. No, what’s going on? Please someone, anyone. Where am I!?” You choked out with a broken sob, eyes suddenly stinging with tears and emotions that you rapidly blinked back. You frantically pushed forward, gritting your teeth as you felt along the walls for what you knew had to be some soft exit.

Someone would hear you. Someone would come and tell you what was going on. It was probably just a huge misunderstanding, and everything was fine. You would be okay. You would be -

It happened so fast that you weren’t even sure that it was real, not giving you any time to react besides blinking, eyes wide as saucers when two hands crashed through what seemed to be the exit you had been looking for, straight through it. The hands splintered the wood of the door panels, smashing through as if the layers of wood were paper as a loud and long groan filled the room along with the ripping sound of the frame crying out in the night.

What the hell. You remained frozen to the ground, body trembling like a leaf in the wind and the hands began to move as if nothing had happened and the person wasn't injured, but in the dark you couldn't make out whether they were or not. But they didn't seem that way. Reaching and slashing, grasping frantically for something - for you and your heart dropped down into your stomach, nauseous rising up like bile in your throat and you let out a terrified scream, ripping from your lungs that just caused the person or thing, to rile backup, and it hollered back loud and inhuman.

You stumbled back, back away to the window-lined wall just as the door swung open and stumbling in came a body in the darkness. A human, it had to be a person, you thought with a wide-eyed gasp. But what kind of person acts like this? They flew into the room, as if they were possessed and you, shaking on your feet, winced hard, bracing yourself for whatever was to come, though, after a few seconds you realized was a wave of confusion and relief that the person had stopped, just standing in the splintered darkened doorway, even more, darkness pouring into the room.

What's going on here? You blinked in shock, just what the hell was this? Some joke? A sick prank? If you could just remember how you got here then maybe you'd know who was pulling this sick . You swallowed down the fear that lodged itself like a pebble in your throat and, with cautious movements, slowly backed closer to the windows and into safety. At least from here, you told yourself you were safer and closer to the only light source. And you couldn't be too sure of this person. You had no clue how they would react if you moved too suddenly. For all you knew, they could be triggered into attacking.

You could hear your own breaths puffing around you in the stale air, and the sound of rain pattering against the glass behind you, and you could swear that just under the beating of the storm your heart was thundering like a drum in your chest. The person was surprisingly still, just standing in front of you, and from what you could make out, their arms down at their sides. With a squint through the lack of light, you realized that the figure looked distinctively female, with a slight framed silhouette, and long waves of dark hair that draped over her shoulders like a cape but in the darkness, you couldn't make out her full appearance.

Then, almost as if sensing your dilemma, lighting flashing just briefly from the windows to illuminate her figure and for a brief second, she came into view…

Your heart literally stopped in your chest, the blood freezing into straight ice, and the poor overworked organ seemed to just come to a halt out of fright, finally giving in to all of the trauma from this night. For some strange second, as if things couldn’t get any weirder, a thought blossomed at the back of your mind, ‘don’t I know her from somewhere?’

What was this nightmare?

(To be edited. Rest of the vague prologue coming soon! Though, the story won't entirely be this dark all the time.)
About

This is the story following the aftermath of the deaths of seven girls from all throughout the ages and how they were brought back to life as the living-dead by a mysterious man who goes by the name of Park Minhyuk and given a second chance at life - well, as the undead. Dreamscape will follow the storylines of seven individual females, all born and raised in different times, trying to remember fragments of their deaths and past life, and how they now cope with being brought back to life in the future. Being a living-dead or Zombie isn't entirely an ideal situation, and not nearly as glamorous as the movies make it out to be... Especially when they're forced to keep their previous existence a secret by living in a strange mansion with an equally puzzling man. It's hard to live out your second chance of life when you aren't allowed to leave the premises. What does he want with them? They surely will find out, but he's claiming that he can make all of their dreams come true if they just become Korea's next big idol group... Wait, WHAT?! Find out in dreamscape!
