Taecyeon had been dating Jay Park’s sister, Jada Park, in secret up until the time of Jay Park’s scandal. 

When it was decided that Jay would have to leave Korea until things had settled down and he would be able to re-join 2pm Jada decided to leave with him to support her oppa. Taecyeon supported her decision and they continued to stay in contact with each other even though they couldn’t see each other.

When it was decided that Jay wouldn’t be re-joining 2PM the contact Jada had with Taecyeon stopped he no longer returned her phone calls or text, and after a three months Jada gave up hope and decided to give up on him. When her brother had decided to go back to Korea she had stayed in Settle with their parents not wanting to go to Korea and face the person who had broken her heart or things which will remind her of him.

But now that Jay had been gaining a following and was up for winning his first solo music bank award he had asked his sister to come and support him. Even though she didn’t want to there was no way she would let her brother face this alone, even if it meant running into Taecyeon again.
