"Please give me one more chance, please," he begged while he stared into her back holding her wrist tightly.

She attempted to pull herself out of his grip, but he only tightened it, most likely to leave a bruise, or at least crescent markings from his nails: "Let go," she wanted to tell him yes, that she would give him another chance, that's why she couldn't look at him.

She couldn't bear to see his eyes pleading her to stay, even though he'd hurt her time and time again she would. The same lies she would tell herself time and time and time again, that he'd change, he meant it this time.

He never did and most likely never will, so she had to lie. She had to force herself out of his grip walking away from him to only break down in tears once he could no longer see her. Her heart is her wings, if someone is to touch her heart, she'll end up in pain.
