They're Back... Again

The Timid Tamer's Tale

a/n:

Final friendly reminder to the fact that this is a ing trilogy lol. How on Earth did we get here?

It may get confusing if you didn't even read the sequel, so maybe check it out before coming back to this?

Or even read the first one too for extra feels.

Of course, if you already know your sh*t,

LET'S ING GO.

I know.

You’ve heard of this story already, haven’t you?

Chaeyoungie’s a great storyteller, right?

I do apologise for her frequent usage of foul words though.

I have been meaning to help her with correcting that bad habit, but I guess we still have a long way to go.

I also have to apologise in advance for my possible lack of humour while I tell my tale.

A story is indeed the most interesting when heard for the first time.

I’m afraid that I may bore you all with a second round… Please have mercy on my fragile soul.

But you see, every single story has multiple perspectives based on how many characters were involved.

Each person’s viewpoint are totally different from another, thus the tale wouldn’t truly be complete if one side of the perspective was still hidden away. There’s so much yet to be revealed.

Don’t worry though.

That’s exactly why I, Myoui Mina, the tamer of the adorable tiger cub, am here.

Ladies and gentleman, fanboys and fangirls.

This is our story, again.

It has been a month or so ever since I started studying in Korea.

A month since I angered a specific cute girl by accidentally blocking her way to homeroom.

A month since I was traumatised by my classmate’s enthusiasm and excessive affection.

A month since I got myself a new best friend, Son Chaeyoungie, who conveniently became my secret little crush.

It was all thanks to her that I managed to survive until now, and luckily for me, things seemed to have calmed down.

No longer were people surrounding my desk to ask for every little detail about my life back in Japan- since they already know them all by now, and no longer did they shove their phones at my face in hopes to get my number.

No no no. They understood clearly that it doesn’t work.

Not only do they get a fake number, they also earn themselves a growling tiger who seemed to be ready to bite off their head any second.

So instead, they went back to a classic method:

Love letters in lockers.

Honestly… no one pulls that sort of trick anymore.

Only in anime would you see people confessing their undying love through letters in their crush’s locker or shoe box.

You may be considered a weeaboo by others for attempting, but I try not to judge.

I guess they thought I’d appreciate it due to my Japanese heritage.

Um… good attempt, fellas.

But I already have someone I’d write to myself.

Whenever I must meet them face-to-face, I always bring along my personal bodyguard with me since I was still too timid to face them all by myself.

I feel sorry for making her witness all the awkward confessions, but I make sure to pay her well with my warm hugs.

Despite her petite size, she’s capable of kicking anyone’s -

Trust me.

I know through personal experience.

I witnessed it with my very own eyes.

There was this unfortunate boy who got a little too emotional during his confession, which made him want to pull me into an embrace.

Before he could even lay a finger on me, his sensitive parts were mercilessly greeted by my best friend’s knee.

… It looked like it really, really hurt.

I’m sorry for the brutal act, but Chaeyoungie’s speed was way faster than mine.

I couldn’t prevent it even if I wanted to.

I simply blinked and the poor guy was already kneeling on the floor, clinging onto his… babies… for dear life.

Of course, I scolded her for lashing out so violently, but truthfully speaking I was happy that she protected me without even thinking about the consequences- specifically speaking, that guy’s poor soul.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he became infertile from that hard blow…

Once again, I apologise on behalf of my ferocious tiger.

I hope you’ll have beautiful babies in the future.

Eventually, I got used to seeing the letters within my locker and the duty of turning them down one by one.

It’s a tough job, really.

I honestly dislike breaking people’s hearts, but they just kept coming while I couldn’t tell them the truth behind my rejections.

I could only repeat the same dull words, ‘I’m sorry’.

Chaeyoungie on the other hand seemed to enjoy the show.

Based on her personality, she’d bring along some popcorn if she could.

I’m pretty sure she has been secretly counting the numbers of victims, but little did she know that she was the one to blame for all these broken hearts.

Shh, it’s still a secret that I’m not planning to reveal to her any soon.

I’ll get there someday… I hope.

While I settled down into the school, I’ve been trying my best to assist Chaeyoungie with removing her past façade of two years.

It hasn’t been an easy task since she was so used to it by now.

As you may have noticed from my previous example, she can still be quite aggressive to others- but of course, only to others.

She’s the sweetest little cub to me, which makes me fall even harder for her.

Despite the fact above, people had started to view her more as a fellow schoolmate rather than a murderous gangster.

I’m not sure whether it was due to my efforts or that people were beginning to open their eyes to her true charms, but somehow she seemed cuter and more approachable compared to before.

Being totally biased, I couldn’t ever resist her adorableness, and I guess others have finally started falling for it too.

Whatever the cause was, I’m just happy that she was capable of socialising with others in peace (?) again.

… But at the same time, I’m not.

The main issue was the fact that I now have competition.

Whether it was for her attention or for her affection, I now have to share.

Normally, I’m a pretty generous person since I do know that sharing is caring.

But when it comes to this… I couldn’t help but to wish I could hog her all to myself.

Mina, what has gotten into you?

Has Chaeyoungie turned you into a selfish, inconsiderate being?

The realisation struck the day she froze in front of her locker like a deer stunned by headlights.

We surprisingly found a love letter in her locker, and boy was I not okay.

Of course, I tried my best to hide away my jealousy even though I couldn’t lie to save my life, but thankfully she was dense enough to not see through my act… at least that’s what I hope.

Following that and some chit-chats, our teacher made a major announcement after we returned to class from our lunch break.

“Good news for all!” he rejoiced, and proceeded to inform us about an upcoming school trip.

A 2-day long trip, which meant we’ll be staying outside for a night.

I took a peak at the girl that was seated beside me, who’s eyes were stuck onto her desk rather than the scenery outside of the window like her usual self.

For some reasons, she seemed… troubled.

I, on the other hand, was celebrating within my mind.

Not only do I love field trips, I now have the opportunity to create more unique memories with my little crush.

I caught myself my lips just from the thought of the potential things we could do together-

Mina stOP.

I had Chaeyoungie ask for more details regarding to the rooming since I was too shy to speak up for myself, and thankfully it was revealed that we had the power to pick our own roommates.

My mind instantly went to places where it shouldn’t, and I guess I wasn’t alone.

“If we can choose our own roommate, can I pick a girl?” I soon heard one of my hardcore admirers ask after Chaeyoung, which sent shivers down my spine.

I glanced over at him, who was giving me the lookTM.

I’m sorry, but ew.

I quickly broke eye-contact and instead looked at the person who eases my heart without the need to do doing anything.

Well- she was doing something this time.

She was murdering the guy in her mind from the look in her eyes.

Thank you, my hardworking bodyguard.

At the end of the day, we found ourselves meeting Chaeyoungie’s admirer by the front gates, though she had planned on leaving the poor student hanging; she had forgotten that they wanted to meet up at the same location we wanted to exit from, resulting us to simply stumble into them by accident.

The girl went ahead to shoot her shot, but things didn’t go well for her.

I had to witness the poor female get rejected in a very harsh manner.

I felt pretty bad for her despite the fact I was glaring straight into her soul from being overprotective at first. Oops.

After we fled the scene I chose to console her about it, since I was still trying to train her into being a bit more friendly to others.

Thankfully she understood my reasoning and was pretty cooperative.

I could see the remorse in her expression, and that made me feel like a proud girlfriend from witnessing her improvements.

That was a weird comparison as I have yet to become her girlfriend.

But hey, I’m working on it.

I gave her a squeeze for her good behaviour and wow, I never wanted to let her go.

The mild scent of her strawberry perfume made my head spin in pure joy, while the softness of her bite-sized figure made her incredibly comfortable to hug.

Also, her body fitted perfectly with mine and it just makes me want to take her right there and then without giving a single da-

DEEP BREATHS, MYOUI.

Eaaasy there.

Calm yourself down before you expose your true scandalous nature.

Eventually I found the courage to ask her to be my roommate for our school trip.

She blushed as she said yes, making me blush with her.

I don’t think I’m capable of focusing on anything else until the day of our trip arrives-

And apparently neither could she.

“Can you believe it? (BEEP)ing 15640000. I don’t even remember how I got that answer.” Chaeyoungie exclaimed before I smacked her lightly on the , warning her about her language.

It was honestly just another excuse to touch her rear-end.

Shh, she doesn’t need to know that.

While we prepared ourselves to leave, I caught sight of our English teacher motioning for me.

Chaeyoungie and I looked at each other before I reluctantly made my way over.

I didn’t dare to ask her to accompany me for this one.

“Mina-yang, can you please help out Chaeyoung-yang with her English?” he pled with a sigh after I stood myself before him.

“But why sir…?” I mumbled back timidly.

Since the last time I checked, her English skills were better than my own.

I watched him as he took off his glasses and wiped the lens with the brim of his shirt.

“Her marks have been drastically plumbing downwards for the past few days.”

“(BEEP) you.”

I flinched from the sudden voice that came from behind, which obviously belonged to my adorable, sassy tiger.

I smacked her for her profanities once again, though I felt my tongue sticking out from my lips as my hand contacted her cute .

Mina no, I should be thinking.

But Mina yes.

I saw our teacher frown upon her verbal attack, but all he could do was let out another heavy sigh.

“I know you’re excited for the school trip and all, but the trip is supposed to be an award for your class’s great average scores.” he reminded us. “It’s more of a reason to not let your guard down. You should feel like you deserved it.”

“Yes sir, thank you for your kind reminder.” I bowed so he wouldn’t scold Chaeyoungie any further, which seemed to have worked as he dismissed us afterwards.

While we made our way out of the school building, I felt someone’s gaze on me before a voice travelled to our ears. “MYOUI MINA!”

A scenario similar to the one we’ve experienced merely a few days ago seemed to have replayed itself as we witnessed a female student loitering near the school gates.

It seemed to be a popular location to wait for either one of us.

Being certain that the voice belonged to that girl, Chaeyoungie and I ended up meeting up with her.

She was trembling quite a bit, which made me worry about her well-being.

“M-Myoui Mina-sshi, may I speak with you for a moment, p-please?” she stuttered while her face gradually turned into a shade of red.

I had a good assumption to what she had to say, but I’ll let her do her thing.

“Sure.” I smiled, hoping it would ease her nervousness.

It didn’t, and I could feel a different pair of eyes glaring at us.

Was my baby tiger trying to scare an admirer away again?

Come on Chaeyoungie, this girl seemed to be on the brink of passing out already. Be nice.

“So what is it?” I asked, but I saw her eyes dart quickly to my bestie.

Of course she couldn’t speak with someone murdering her with their piercing gaze.

I wasn’t expecting her to have the nerves to speak up about it though, but I still complied.

I asked Chaeyoungie to wait for me at the side in order to help the girl speak her mind, since I knew how frustrating it felt to hide away one’s true feelings.

Trust me, I know such pain very well myself.

As I expected, she was another one of my admirers who had mustered up enough courage to confess.

Of course, I declined her feelings despite finding her pretty nice.

But unfortunately, she wasn’t Son Chaeyoung.

If that was the case, it’d be a whole different story.

“Can I at least know why I’ve been rejected?” I heard her ask sadly, and for the first time ever, I agreed to such a request.

I placed my hand gently onto her shoulder before leaning in closer towards her ear.

“I only like tigers.” I giggled at my own hint, which successfully confused the girl.

Actually, indirectly telling someone who my crush was felt pretty good.

Thank you, rejected girl, for listening to me.

I quickly made my way back to Chaeyoungie’s side, who wasn’t even looking at us anymore.

“Let’s go, Chaeyoung-ah.” I called out, but all she did was frown at me.

“What did she have to say?”

The sight of her sulking was so cute, it made me want to .

“She said she likes me.” I replied truthfully yet simply, enough to spark some curiosity.

“And what did you say?” she then asked, her eyes glistening as she waited for an answer.

I successfully lured her in.

I couldn’t help but to smirk from my own reply.

I actually repeated my previous words, but of course she didn’t get it.

Oh Chaeyoungie, how I wish you understood Japanese.
