Inspired by none other than the movie "Crazy Rich Asians" itself so yes some major spoiler warnings (watch the movie if you haven't yet!). I'm just going to let this writing prompt hang over my head for now because school and life *sighs*

“W-wha,” Irene stammers, turning towards her partner— the love of her life for two years and her friend for five years and counting.

Her jaw drops. 

She is in awe of how perfectly her girlfriend compliments the extravagant setting—basked under a yellow hue of light reflected by the towering golden statues that are rooted to the ground.  

A true angel.

Breathing out a shaky breath, she urges herself to speak coherently, “What the hell? Wendy, you never told me that you’re rich?”

She looks past Wendy, getting distracted by the dazzling fountain that’s spewing out what Irene bets is water blessed by Jesus himself because what kind of water is that sparkly. “No, wait—this is a whole other level of rich. This is like gold vomit, diamond encrusted, crazy rich.”

Ooof yeah any feedback on whether the story is worth pursuing or critcism is always welcome.
