he's allowed to follow real life cancer patient Jeon Jeongguk in his daily life in order to portray his character as good as possible.

This story is one of the first ones I've read from ao3. The events are well written and I also like the way the author presents the characters. This story really makes my heart hurt and hopefully the author will update soon.
