spirits and housesJoy’s brain felt distorted, and she was convinced it didn’t belong in her body. She spent the day in the back of her classes, staring idly at the notes. Not intaking any of the information, in fact, most of her attention was directed outside. Where groups of upperclassmen were jubilantly walking down the hallway. She smirked, if she was right, which she usually was, that meant that in about ten minutes the sophomores in her lunch would be replaced. And thankfully she was a sophomore.
She relaxed back in her chair, leaning on her forearms with her elbows pointing outward. She tried to think about everything except Chemistry, that had Mr. Song dronning on and on. She rolled her eyes, she didn’t even want to study science in the future, so why did she have to be in this stupidass class. Joy scanned the seats in front of her, seeing most students were taking notes, their head leaned over their desk occasionally flicking their vision up to see their teacher’s dramatic hand gestures and unintelligible diagram. She squinted at it, but didn’t have time to focus long until a bell got her springing out of her chair.
Joy eagerly swooped down to grab her crossbody satchel, she swung it on top of her hip and ran out the back door. Ignoring the yell of, “PARK SOOYOUNG! YOU ARE NOT DISMISSED.” Though she ended up acknowledging it with a smirk and a two- salute.
She pranced to join her friends in the cafeteria, her eyes briefly scanning across before spotting them at their usual table. She walked casually over to them, her hands kneading against the scratchy fabric of her satchel’s strap. She smiled anxiously, slipping easily between Yeri and Seungwan.
Joy glanced over to the latter, and couldn’t help but feel a static in the left-side of her forehead as she tried to remember something to talk about them. Was singing it? She shook her head, and slumped onto her elbows. Dully listening to the banter between Seulgi and Joohyun, who were doting over each other. Joy decided to input by lifting her head and calling out, “Joy-unnie! I’m glad you managed to join Seulgi- oh- I mean us tod
