I never understood that strange tug on my heart when I'd walk the streets at night.

Or the fluttering of my heart when I passed under certain street lights.

I never understood why small peeks of blonde tufts looked so bright and radiant.

Or why they always gave me chills.

I never understood the familiarity I felt when passing by the blonde male just a few inches below my own height.

Or how the ticking of the watch he wore on his wrist seemed to sync with the beating of my heart.

I never understood until I ran into you.

I feel silly calling it fate, but what else could it be?

It seems a meeting as cliche as ours was just meant to be.

Me spilling my coffee on you, like something out of the movies.

I'd be lying if I said my heart didn't skip a beat,

the moment our eyes first locked.
