A Series of Regrettable Happenings

Description

Friend A suggests to Friend B that since he is already mooning over Nameless Guy C, he should quite literally moon him as an act of confession.

(AKA the one where Kim Taehyung paints I Love You on his to get the attention of emotionally-constipated Jeon Jungkook and Park Jimin has absolutely nothing to do with it.)

Foreword

Author note: Hello again, my lovelies. Surprisingly, or maybe not so much, the context of this story is based on a very true suggestion on my part to a friend in emotional despair/denial. I will not claim it to be an entirely foolproof way of confessing attraction, nor one made with sound reasoning, but it certainly makes for a decent plot. Anyhow, I hope this amuses you all as much as it amuses me, and as always, thank you for the support! -Yee

Technical notes: Korean universities are nowhere near as expensive as what you are likely accustomed to, depending on what country you live in. For example, universities in the United States generally cost upwards of $20,000 a year without living expenses or scholarships/financial aid factored in, generally closer to $40,000 if the university is outside of the state you live in. Yearly tuition in England, also, may cost you around £9,000 the same way. In South Korea, however, annual tuition will generally only cost you around $6,000 USD, with campus living arrangements potentially around $600 USD.

Korean college students are notorious for their partying and, for lack of a better term, freaking the hell out once they graduate high school and entrance exams are over. Coupled with this sudden lack of various responsibilities, the freedom gained by moving away from home/into a dorm and the legal drinking age being nineteen makes new students pretty prone to slacking off a bit with their studies (*cough, cough, Taehyung*), while it hardly affects some others. This, what we might consider to be a flaw of the educational system in many countries, not just South Korea, is a bit of a central theme in these shenanigans.

Korean semesters actually operate in such a way that the second semester always ends sometime in February. I manipulated the timeline to more closely resemble American universities in this regard because it was more convenient to the plot.
