Jinyoung couldn't believe it. His last episode as an MC for Inkigayo had ended. It was probably the last time he would be hanging out with his newfound friends, Jisoo and Doyoung. It might sound sad but being an idol was hard for Jinyoung, especially when it comes to making friends outside of his group. He couldn't even talk to anyone in their sister group Twice, without the public making such assumptions.

He could still catch up with Doyoung everytime they run with each other backstage in music programs and award shows but he wasn't sure if it would be the same case with Jisoo.

Fans weren't aware that he knew about what was going on in social media, specifically Instagram. Although he wasn't as active as s, he would often check his account for updates and sometimes for the fans' feedbacks for their comeback. It wasn't obvious that he was using the application but only Jinyoung knew how many times he would open it in a day. This constant use of Instagram made him stumble upon the other side of social media revolving around shipping idols. Much to his surprise, some had been shipping him with Jisoo.

It never crossed Jinyoung's mind that fans would ship him with his fellow MC. Especially now that some were too possessive of their idols and wouldn't allow any female idols to lay their hands on their oppas. So when Jinyoung stumbled upon this cropped photos of him and Jisoo, he wasn't sure if he should feel giddy or weirded out. Reading comments about how these people would love to hear some dating news about him and Jisoo felt strange. Do they really think we suit each other?

Jinyoung would be lying if he said he never had such thoughts about the possibilities of ever liking Jisoo as a woman. Who wouldn't think about dating her? She wasn't just one of the most beautiful female idols he had ever met, she was incredibly funny but intelligent. Most people label her as a 4D member but both Doyoung and Jinyoung knew that she was more than that. That's what Jinyoung liked about her. She was different but simple at the same time. His type of girl, he would say.

In a span of one year, Jisoo managed to get Jinyoung's attention. From Inkigayo broadcasts to award shows performances, his eyes would always land on her. Even though he could only watch her through the screen in front of him, it was enough for Jinyoung to be left mesmerized and think to himself how lucky he was to be able to work with Jisoo. And silently, he was hoping this was fate in the making.

Those glances Jisoo would always give never mattered to him. Not until he and Jisoo travelled around Daejeon to film their Uptown Funk dance performance. Only the two of them knew how much they started to get even more closer with each other ever since they filmed that god awful dance. Jinyoung himself admitted that he didn't like the dance that much while Jisoo argued that it was funny and cute.

When Jisoo gave him that warm smile while they were dancing to a song that wasn't romantic at all, Jinyoung felt those butterflies in his stomach that he would always read about in romantic books. That's when he realized that he had been dumb to notice that there was already something special between the two of them. Unfortunately, Jisoo was still unaware of this.

Before heading straight home, he and Doyoung were both stopped by Jisoo and were asked to take a selfie with her. For the first and last time. Jinyoung swore that he did his best to fight the urge to hug Jisoo and tell her he liked her after snapping sets of photos. He had been planning on telling her for months but he never had the guts to do so. He was supposed to admit his feelings right after the last episode but he wasted his chance again.

Other than Jinyoung himself, Doyoung was also aware of this feelings Jinyoung had for Jisoo. Being a trustworthy maknae, Doyoung kept it a secret though he did try to force Jinyoung to admit it before it was too late. Jinyoung's fellow members were also aware of this and would constantly about it whenever he sees them after a broadcast. Jackson, however, was a different case. The boy had an unstoppable mouth. It took lots of free snacks for Jinyoung to shut Jackson up. He even had to waste a large amount of money because of the many times he took Jackson out for dinner.

Jinyoung was fully aware that dating another idol would be a big problem. With the media and possessive fans surrounding him, it would be harder than confessing. The truth is, he wasn't afraid of getting turned down by Jisoo. He was afraid of what might happen if she did like him back. Of course, he'd be more than happy if they decided to make it official but the consequences that would come along with it scared him.

Right after their fan meeting, Jinyoung went straight to their dorms and as usual, locked himself up in his room and laid on the bed with his phone already in his hands. Out of habit, his finger went straight to tap the Instagram icon. His recent search showed the hashtag jinji, which he immediately tapped only to see endless of photos posted by fans. Most were the recent photos of the three MCs that Jisoo posted on CH+. He couldn't help but tap on one of the posts before heading straight to the comments section, only to be greeted by comments saying how sad they were for the sudden leave of JinJiDo. But what really caught his eyes were the comments saying how Jinyoung and Jisoo looked really good together even with Doyoung in between the two of them.

It was already past twelve midnight and Jinyoung had been wasting his time over debating whether or not he should admit his feelings to Jisoo. At the same time, he was slowly falling into deep slumber. He used to sleep as early as ten in the evening but tonight was different. His thoughts were clouded by one girl throughout and it was driving him crazy. Just imagining himself no longer seeing Jisoo every Sunday made him want to confess before it was too late.

He did tell his little secret to Jisoo's labelmate, Minho from Winner. Being one of the kindest hyung, Minho encouraged him to admit his possible unrequited feelings toward Jisoo. Having been one of Jisoo's close friends and seniors, Minho knew that she was somehow not the type to fall in love first and wasn't surprised to know that Jinyoung liked her. He had known ever since he watched them MC together on Gayo Daejun. It was obvious yet obscure at the same time but the way Jinyoung looked at Jisoo, it was written that he had fallen over heels.

Just as he was about to close his eyes for good and call it a night, Jinyoung's phone rang all of a sudden as the screen lit up and showed Jisoo's name. As soon as his eyes slowly read her name, he had to sit up from the bed. His heart started racing faster than usual, as if it wanted to win a race with Jisoo as the price. Clearing his throat, he finally answered the call and closed his eyes for a few moments-preparing himself.

"Jinyoung-ah?"

Just the sound of Jisoo's voice was enough to make his breath hitched even for a few seconds. "Jisoo? Do you need anything?"

"Someone to talk to. But if you're about to sleep, I can-

"No!" Jinyoung said, louder than he expected. He immediately gave his mouth a slap, realizing that he might have woke s up. "I mean, I actually can't sleep and now I'm glad you called."

Jinyoung couldn't help but slap himself in his mind. He sounded too giddy and it worried him that Jisoo might have an idea by now but as soon as she spoke up, he knew she still hadn't. "Is that so? I've been watching dramas for hours now. It's hard being jobless, you know?"

Laughing at Jisoo's joke, Jinyoung shook his head in disbelief. "What are you talking about? You're an idol, silly."

"You mean, an idol who does nothing but lay on her bed, cuddle with her dog, and watch dramas after losing her only job?" Jisoo replied, sounding a bit disappointed but a hint of humor was evident in her voice. "What can I say? I'm a member of Blackpink who had a comeback a year ago."

Jinyoung breathe out a sigh, somehow feeling sad for Jisoo. They MCed together for a year but Jisoo's group only managed to come and visit the music program for a small amount of times considering the fact that Blackpink only had one comeback with one song. Almost everyone, including him, wanted to hear more from the monster rookie. "Don't be sad, I'm sure you'll come back on stage soon and hit it bigger than last time. Patience is a virtue, remember?"

"Wow, Jinyoung-ah. It's the first time I heard no bad jokes coming from that mouth of yours," Jisoo said in between laughs. "How about you? How was the fan meeting? Shouldn't you be asleep after a long day?"
