“I can’t lose you, Jennie. Not now. Not ever. Please... don’t go.” 

Jisoo pleads as she cries. Jennie couldn’t help but look away. 

She feels her chest tighten each time she takes another step farther away from where she and Jisoo were standing before. 

“I can’t be your person right now or tomorrow, Jisoo. I have to go—no, I need to go.” 

Maybe it’s the sound of raindrops falling on the rooftop. Maybe it’s the sound of a heart shattering on the ground. 

Jennie is now six feet apart from Jisoo. She stops and looks back at the mess she left behind that is Jisoo. 

“I wish you well, Jichu.” 

Jennie smiles as if it’s the first time. But behind that smile lies a broken heart. Meanwhile, Jisoo couldn’t help but smile back at her. For a moment she has forgotten that she will no longer see that smile in person. For a moment she thought she won’t leave. But she did. 

In the blink of an eye, the door finally shuts. Leaving Jisoo behind with a broken heart. 

“I hate you, Jennie Kim.”
