Jinyoung was standing in front of the mailbox sighing while at it, that was the third time of that week where he brought Jaebum’s books the older bought online to their apartment. He could choose not to but well still, he brought it back. ‘Just how many books coming this week?’ Jinyoung thought inwardly while waiting for the lift to came.

“Ah Jinyoung! Haven’t seen you and Jaebum around, busy weeks?” Jinyoung stopped thinking when familiar voice greeted him

“Oh Mark hyung! Yeah… busy weeks not only you, even we live together I rarely see Jaebum hyung too these days” Jinyoung admitted sheepishly, indeed he hadn’t seen his boyfriend around with his crazy schedule these days as deadline for the article he was writing in front of his eyes it wasn’t weird to not see each other for days, it could take weeks sometimes, he missed Jaebum, of course he missed him so much but they knew each other well not to touch about their job, they are happy with what they are doing. They have the job they’ve dreamt of since they were teenagers and both Jaebum and him are happy about it especially they both are doing well with it

“Be careful, this time maybe Jaebum wasn’t busy producing music but producing babies with other wo - OUCH!!!” Jackson jumped when Mark stepped on his foot harshly

“Don’t listen to him Jinyoung, you know Jaebum is head over heels for you and Wang Jackson when did you come? I didn’t even notice you” Mark turned to Jackson who was still groaning in pain

“Yeah of course Jinyoung is more important until you didn’t notice I was standing beside you the whole time you were talking to him” Jackson rolled his eyes “Books again nerds couple?” Jackson asked once they went inside the lift 

“Jaebum’s” Jinyoung looked at the books sighing “He’s been buying books online but instead of getting in one bulk orders he did it one by one and everyday I need to ‘fetch it’” 

“You could’ve just ignored it” Mark chuckled

“I…”

“We get it, you are to soft for Jaebum to ignore his things behind” Jackson rolled his eyes for the second time on that day

Jinyoung was preparing to eat alone again that night when Jaebum went inside the kitchen

“Hi” Jaebum grinned walking towards Jinyoung who just lifted up his chopstick ready to eat his ramyeon “Why are you so stunned?” Jaebum laughed when Jinyoung dropped his chopstick on the pot 

“Hyung?” Jinyoung looked at him in disbelief, it had been weeks they barely see each other, when Jinyoung was awake Jaebum would be deep asleep if not when Jaebum awake Jinyoung was the one who slept. The routine continued like that for weeks especially with Jaebum producing soon to be debut rookie group album, it would be a lucky day if they passed by each other to say ‘morning’ or ‘night’ so to see Jaebum standing in front of him at 8pm was felt like a dream for Jinyoung “Can’t you at least pretend to be happy to see me?” Jaebum teased and Jinyoung just chuckled finally back to his sense

“Are you done with the album Mr. Producer of the year?” Jinyoung asked 

“Still need some arrangement here and there but it won’t take much time anymore” Jaebum sat across of Jinyoung “How about you Mr. Writer of the year? Done with the articles?” 

“I just wrapped it today, it should be okay in few days time, can we go somewhere for a short trip after all of this end? I feel like my  brain is going to burst soon” Jinyoung complained

“Sure, anywhere you want especially again we’ll be more preoccupied soon” Jaebum took Jinyoung’s juice and grimaced over the weird taste

“Are you producing another album again after this?” Jinyoung asked gave up his chopstick for Jaebum which taken by the older gratefully and soon his ramyeon already half gone from the pot

“Hmmm… I have another project” Jaebum said in the middle of inhaling Jinyoung’s noodle

“Do you want me to cook another one?” Jinyoung grimaced when in less than 5 minutes Jaebum already finished the noodles and with the way Jaebum looked at him Jinyoung knew he had to cook at least two more ramyeon for the starving producer

“You are my everything you know it Jinyoungie?” Jaebum said while watching Jinyoung cooking ramyeon for him, Jinyoung rolled his eyes ignored what Jaebum said decided to focus on the noodle instead “Have I told you how precious you are for me?” 

“Uh-huh” Jinyoung said still focusing on the noodle

“What will I do without you in my life?” Jaebum sigh gratefully watching pot of noodle Jinyoung just put in front of him

“Stop talking and start eating hyung, you know I will cook it even without those cheesy talks” Jinyoung gave Jaebum his chopstick

“I’m not telling you that just because I’m hungry, I really meant it, especially with how rare we see each other the past few weeks, I miss you” Jaebum smiled when Jinyoung blushed

“I miss you too, now eat the noodle before it gets cold” Jinyoung pointed at the noodle and Jaebum immediately dig on it didn’t forget to ask Jinyoung if he would love some which earned a no from the younger said he already full watching jaebum eating like he hadn’t eaten for years. 

They were ready to continue with their night routine consisted of movie night or just two of them reading books side by side, simple but it’s their favourite time of the day, to just spend it together set their works aside and give them time to breathe cherishing each other in their own way. Jinyoung was about to pick up one book he was going to read before bed time when suddenly he remembered Jaebum’s packet he brought this afternoon from their mailbox, Jaebum just went out from the shower, hair still wet while wearing his favourite tracksuit pants for sleep when Jinyoung shoved him the packet 

“Hyung, next time you better get the books in one time, don’t buy it one buy one it’s tiring to keep bringing this up when you can just buy 10 books at once, it will make my life easier” Jinyoung sighed, Jaebum smiled when he saw the packet and instead of took it from Jinyoung’s hand Jaebum walked off “Hyungggg” Jinyoung whined “It’s your book, do you want me to just place it on the table? What book is it this time?” Jinyoung stared at the square box which weirdly felt light somehow didn’t feels like a book

“It’s yours baby” Jaebum turned around face filled radiating with happiness

“Huh? It’s clearly written Im Jaebum here” Jinyoung pointed at the receiver name 

“Open it” Jaebum put his hand on his pants pocket suddenly looked nervous, Jinyoung eyed him suspiciously but opened the packet just like what Jaebum asked him, he was surprised when he found there was no book on it but there was another small square box inside, a tiny paper attached to it with words ‘Park Jinyoung’ 

“Park Jinyoung?” Jinyoung looked at the small square suddenly feeling nervous too

“I told you, it’s yours” Jaebum nearly stuttered, his hand felt cold he bit his lips to hide his nervousness “Open it” with a reassurance nod from Jaebum, Jinyoung pulled the tiny ribbon surrounding the small square box, his hand trembled a little bit suddenly had a feeling of what was hidden inside it and he was right, a silver ring was seen the moment he opened the box he gasped in surprise when Jaebum kneeled in front of him

“I’ve teased you before about your love over young adult books, but slowly I have come to conclusion that those books meant a lot for you and that’s part of you so I decided to stop teasing you about it instead I decided to read it too, trying to understand you more through a book because it’s you and I love everything about you, from those books too I’ve learnt that you love being cared of, you are an independent individual but at the end of the day you love small surprises and that’s why I prepared this, you know I’m not good in doing something romantic, it takes me months to prepare what is the best way to do this for you and I want it as perfect as you are because you are very precious for me Jinyoungie… and I want you to remember this moment forever even until we grow old together, I want you to remember today, the day I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to tell you how much I love you and how excited I am to spend the rest of my life with you because you are you, you complete me and you… I can’t imagine my life without you in it, so… Park Jinyoung, will you marry me?” Tears rolled down on Jinyoung’s cheeks without his consent “Jinyoung?” Jaebum asked in concern when more tears dropped from Jinyoung’s eyes

“Yes…” Jinyoung said holding the ring with his hand “Yes Jaebum yes… I will marry you” Jaebum stood up with the biggest grin on his eyes but eyes filled with emotions

“I promise you, I will make the rest of our life filled with happiness” Jaebum took Jinyoung’s hand, put the ring on his finger and kissed it gently

“Count on you… husband” Jinyoung smiled and Jaebum swore he will make sure Jinyoung will never lost that smile forever while he’s with him spending the rest of their live together… forever

Epilogue

“and that was how your appa proposed to me” Jinyoung ended the story with a smile, indeed just like what Jaebum told him, he will never forget that one of the best moment on his life, he looked up when he found someone stood in the doorway

“Nice bedtime story” The person smiled while slowly walking closer to Jinyoung

“He loves it, he is so calm whenever I tell him our story” Jinyoung smiled fondly caressing the baby bump, he was on his seventh month and the baby boy was very active tiring the life out of Jinyoung imagining how busy they will be once the baby born

“Uh-huh, I bet that will be his favourite bedtime story when he’s born later” Jaebum snuggled beside Jinyoung didn’t forget to give a kiss to Jinyoung’s baby bump before “Hello baby, appa can’t wait to see you” Jinyoung felt an excited kick and he laughed together with Jaebum

“He’s excited to see you too” Jinyoung sighed in happiness, so grateful with how better his life is with a baby coming soon in their household

“I love you Jinyoung, thanks for making me happy everyday in my life” Jaebum moved up and kissed Jinyoung’s lips

“and I love you too, thanks for being in my life” Jinyoung smiled and Jaebum again swore he will make sure Jinyoung will never lost that smile from his face as long as he lives, Jaebum swore… he will filled Jinyoung and their future son happiness in their life… Jaebum swore.
