The Rule Book
Description
Jisoo gets her big break as an actress by being casted as the female lead in the newest TV drama of one of Korea’s most renowned drama writers– the same drama in which GOT7’s Jinyoung happens to be the male lead. To bring attention to the project, the writer proposes that the two pretend to date as a publicity stunt. Lines between what is real and what is pretend start to blur when old unresolved feelings begin to resurface.
Foreword
“If we’re gonna do this, I think we need to establish some rules.”
“Alright.”
“Rule #1: Never confuse what’s real and what’s fake.”
Characters:
Kim Jisoo, 26, one of the members of YG Entertainment's girl group Blackpink who debuted 4 and a half years ago. Her acting debut was almost three years ago, starting with small cameos as herself or minor roles in web dramas. While her career as a member of Blackpink thrived because of the huge local and international support they were getting from their rapidly increasing number of Blinks, her acting career did not launch as quickly because of the prejudice against idol-actors. Jisoo, finding herself actually enjoying acting, continued to audition for roles despite the multiple casting rejections she has gotten.
Park Jinyoung, 27, member of the JYP Entertainment boy group GOT7, who is approaching their seventh year after debut. While GOT7 still has a solid following of their loyal Ahgases, their popularity has stagnated, espcially with the rise of newer boy groups. Jinyoung's popularity as an actor however continued to rise, with him quickly becoming one of the in-demand actors for movies and dramas after award-winning acting performances in his recent projects. Jinyoung lives on his own, being the first to move out of the shared GOT7 dormitory 2 years ago (although the other members of GOT7 still crash his place often...)
