Foreword

A/N : Hello and welcome to my first one-shot here! I'm a big fan of Joy and once I found out she was going to be in another drama, The Great Seducer, I naturally started watching it. Right now it's at episode 12, and since I'm a romance duck I decided to write a fanfiction of what I'd like to happen next.

WARNING! Spoilers up till episode 12 so I suggest you watch it first. If you're not planning to, just go right ahead.

"I can't do this anymore. Please."

Tae Hee shut the door in his face. Yet, he can still hear her sobs, he can still feel his heart wrenching with a sickening feeling, one that he didn't like, not one bit. He placed his hand on the door and knocks softly.

"Tae Hee. Listen to me. Let me explain." All he can hear is the sobbing. And it plays in his mind. Over and over. Tae Hee's voice resonates, it screams at him, asking him why? Why did he make her feel like this? Why did she make him feel like this?

"Tae Hee. Please."The sobbing continues, quieter this time. He starts slow.

"I was happier when I was little. My mother was sick you know. She got so sick she was normally in the hospital when I was in high school. At that time, I had just started to understand that my father was cruel. He never visited her. He never visited me. All he did was provide money and shelter. And my mother would sit in her bed and listen to me rant all night long. But I wish she would have talked to me about her problems. I wish I had more time with her." He sinked to floor, his eyes misty as he recalled the past. The sobs had subsided. He continued.

"Then one night, my father visited me for the first time in months. I was happy. Then he told me my mother had died in a car accident. I was in shock, I was in despair. I was horrified. Then, you know what he told me? You know what that man told me?" Tears had started to trickle down Si Hyun's face.

"He said, Si Hyun, you can't attend the funeral. You're not allowed to attend the funeral. I couldn't see her as she was put down. I couldn't talk to her one last time, just one more time. All I had were her pictures. So I dressed up in a black suit on the day of her funeral. And I waited. I waited for someone to get me, for someone to call me to come downstairs, someone to tell me my father was just kidding, just messing with me. No one came. Only Se Joo and Soo Ji were there to help me. If it wasn't for them, I would have killed myself a long time ago."

"When I heard my father was getting married with Soo Ji's mother, I was angry. He would just take another woman after his wife had died only two years ago? I wanted to burn his hopes, crush his dreams. I had a brilliant idea too. Get married with Soo Ji before they could. It wouldn't be too bad having Soo Ji as my wife. She's my best friend and I had more than just friendly feelings for her. Then she threw in a bet. Make Eun Tae Hee fall in love with you. And then break her. After you do that, I'll marry you." He could hear her disbelief through the door. She had obviously slumped after his confession but he had to tell her the truth. No more lies. No more.

"I agreed. I had nothing left to lose. My father had kicked me out. He wasn't even my real dad. That day at the bus stop wasn't part of the bet. I had just gotten kicked out of the house, where all my mother's belongings lay. I didn't know what to do. My mother used to fold paper airplanes. She'd tell me, Si Hyun ah, if you have any problems, just fold an airplane and throw it away. All your problems will disappear. I did that. It was just pure coincidence that it dropped nearby you."

"Then, I started tailing you. I started to do ridiculous things just for you. I wanted to win the bet. The bet seemed so simple. But now, all I can think about is you. Why is that?  Whenever I'm out with Soo Ji and Se Joo, why do my thoughts go back to you and how you're managing without me? Why did I leave them to come after you? Why am I so in love with you, Eun Tae Hee?" He stood slowly.

"Let me in. Please. I've already lost this bet." He broke down. "I can't lose you too."

Silence. Then he hears the sound of the lock clicking. Tae Hee is standing there with an unreadable expression, her face red with tears. He smiles and wipes them away with his hand.

"Don't cry. I won't do leave you anymore." He pulls her to him with a desperate hug. She starts sobbing again.

"I won't leave you again." He repeats. Their first few kisses were gentle but they soon evolve into rough desperation as they pull each other closer.

"I love you Eun Tae Hee."

"I... I love you too."
