Foreword

"Jiminie .. look what I brought!"

The sound of the music made her shout to be heard. But I ignore it and continue my practice dance.

"Jiminie .. take a break, I'll have a snack."

I still ignore and see her sitting on the couch and put her things on the table from the mirror in front of me.

"Yah! Jimini-ah!" she shouted louder.

Finally I finished my training. I could see her irritated expression from the mirror for not being noticed.

"Arasseo, arasseo.”

“Woah, see who's coming?" I walked over, stretching my arms to embrace her.

But Saera suddenly held up one hand forwards, keeping me from approaching.

"Wae?" I asked. She looking me from head to toe.

"You're wet."

"It's just sweat!"

"Did you take a shower this morning?"

"So what are you carrying?" I said, change the topic.

"Ck, no answer."

"Yah, it doesn’t mean I don’t bathe for not answering, I'm just curious about what you're carrying."

"Nae.., nae.." she surrendered, made me smile. I win.

She shifted her position to give me a seat. Then open the box containing the fruit pieces.

"You know very well I don’t like mangoes."

"Set aside, I'll eat it later. You think I brought it for you to eat on your own?" she replied as she looked for something from inside her bag.

"Maybe."

I took a piece of fruit and ate it.

"Look here."

She then wiped the sweat on my face and my neck with a tissue when I turned to her. I smile with my mouth chewing.

"Wae?"

"Ani," I shook my head.

"Instead you have to feeding me."

I just nodded.

"Done."

She then went to dump the tissue in the bin in the corner and walked to sit back.

"Raise your hands," she pleaded before sitting down.

"Wae?" I asked in confused. But then I raised my hand.

Saera then sat and kept her head in my lap. Half of her legs hang over the edge of the sofa because it isn’t enough. I looked down at her.

"Hehehe," she grinned. Make me laugh at her behavior.

"Ck, open your mouth!" I say, feeding her a slice of fruit.

"Hm, gomawo .."

Then quiet for a moment. There was only the sound of rain from the outside.

I still eat the fruits she brought with me occasionally feeding her. And she was busy playing her phone while lying down on my lap.

I looked her face. Tidy her hair bangs with my fingers.

"So, what about your practice? Any progress?" she asked quietly. Then she pushed the phone away from her face and looked at me.

"Hm, not bad," I said, looking away.

"Hey, what's with your face?"

"I'm just not sure. I'm afraid to make them disappointed. Aaa..." I asked to open .

"Your agency will know you've done your best. You just have to try harder," she said before eating the mango chunks I'd raised.

"Hmm."

Saera then rose. She sat down and faced me.

"Do you have an umbrella?"

"Are you going out?"

"Let's get out!"

"We? It's still raining outside."

"Ck, that's why I'm asking," she rolled her eyes.

"Come on..." she whined.

"Where are you going? I only have one umbrella."

"That’s not a problem. Let's get some coffee.”

"We can make it ourselves, there's plenty of coffee in the kitchen.”

Her lips frowned again. Looks cute, makes me finally laugh.

"Hahaha, wae ire? Why did you suddenly want to get out?"

"There's a new cafe near here, and they said the coffee is good. And this too."

Saera held up her phone screen to me. Shows photos of two people smiling over coffee.

"I haven’t seen Hyejin since she came home from Dubai yesterday.. Come on.. Taehyung is also there."

"Well, if that's what you want," I said, giving up.

"Gomawo!!!" Saera shouted, suddenly hugged me.

“Don’t I stink?" I asked, teasing.

"Nope, hahaha. Come on! Where's the umbrella?"

"Aish .. jjinja."

We walked side by side to the cafe that Saera meant. Apparently not as I thought, the rain was not too heavy.

This umbrella is too small for two people underneath. So I let my shoulder wet, so that Saera's body was protected from the rain.

I grabbed hold of one her hand. I knew she was cold. And Saera just looked at me with a smile.

"Jimin-ah."

"Hm?"

I looked at her and she smiled. Then she turned her eyes forward again.

"You know, you don’t have to be great to start something. Just do what you want to do, don’t delay, cause maybe chance won't come twice. No matter what the outcome will be. And as I said earlier, you just have to practice more hard and do your best at every chance you have."

Saera glanced at me with a smile again. Then looked around and her gaze stopped.

"Em .. like this umbrella." She pointed to the umbrella I was holding.

"Think of it as a confidence of yourself or your strength, and rain is a problem that can come at any time. When it rains, your umbrella can’t stop it, but it can protect you from the rain. Though your strength doesn’t give you success, it gives you the courage to face the problems that come."

"And when there are no clouds in the sky but there's only a bright sun, remember the rain. Because that's the right time to repair your umbrella."

"The process won't betray the results. You can even see the rainbow after, and you won't be disappointed anymore cause you've done the best you can, no matter what the outcome, there must be a lot of lessons behind it."

She looked at me again, but this time she grinned.

“Who is this? I don’t remember having this smart girlfriend. How can you talk like that? I never see you holding a book."

"Ishhh .. are you teasing me?"

“Geez, I'm just kidding," I said as I let go of my grasp, then embraced Saera and her hair gently.

"Gomawo, you're realizing me a lot."

"I don’t have to touch a book cause I have my own walking dictionary," she said suddenly .

I heard it only raised eyebrows in confusion. But Saera didn’t answer immediately. Her gaze dissolves on the bunch of street singers who are playing his instrument on the opposite sidewalk

"Namjoon oppa?"

And I chuckled as she said it.

"Hahaha, you can be scolded if he knows."

"Ah, one more!"

"Mwo?"

"We can’t avoid the rain, but we can dance, through the puddles of water, twirling the only umbrella we need, or if you really want to feel life, close your umbrella, and touch it directly! "

And she walked away, approaching a bunch of street singers we had just passed. Makes her wet with the rain. She tried to touch her life directly.

She twirled her body while jumping up and down, dancing to the rhythm of the music she heard.

"Yah! Come on! You can get sick later!"

But she didn’t hear me. She kept dancing under the rain. Make she look more beautiful. And of course make my heart beat faster.

I see a rainbow. Here, in front of me. I don’t even have to wait for the rain to stop to see it.

"Jimin-ah, come here!" she wave her hand.

I close the umbrella I'm wearing. Some people started to stop because they saw her dancing in the rain. Saera stretched out a hand, invited me to dance, and so did I. Then she reached for my hand. She lifted my arm, then she turned several times under my hand.

But I quickly pulled her till our body collided.

She looked at me. Her face looked confused and surprised when I touched her lips with mine.

I felt the blood rushing through my body until I could hear my own heartbeat. Amid the voices of people shouting around us, amid the rain voice, and amid the music of street singers. But I don’t care.

You know, sometimes rainbows appear before the rain stops.

And you've been a rainbow for my cloud.

Yea, you're my rainbow.

EPILOG

Knock, knock.

I open the door of Saera's room without waiting for a reply.

Saera is still lying on the bed. Not energetic, her face pale, her eyes lethargic and her nose red.

I walked up to her carrying a tray containing a glass of clear water, a bowl of porridge and also medicine. Her temperature hadn’t come down as I touched her forehead and examined the thermometer.

"Eat this, then you can take drink medicine," I said. Then I sat on the edge of her bed.

"Hatchooo!!"

"I’ve warned you but you don’t want to hear."

"I don’t think it will be this bad." Her voice sounded funny because of the flu.

"My throat hurts ..." she complained.

"Want me to feeding you?" And Saera nodded with a big smile,

"Ck,” I rolled my eyes.

I picked up the bowl with the porridge and started feeding her.

"Is this good?"

"I can’t feel anything, my tongue is bitter."

But in fact, she ate quite voraciously.

“Arghhh.. why can’t I forget that?” Suddenly she ruffled her own hair.

“Yah!!” She cried after a moment's silence.

"Wae?"

"Don’t you do it again like yesterday! In public? Ish ... jjinja."

"I'm just trying to protect you," I said, unable to suppress a smile.

"I don’t get it."

"Don’t blame me. It’s because you flirting me. "

"Flirt? What do you mean?!"

I held up four fingers of my right hand. Then folded one by one:

"White shirt, rain, transparent and dark blue."

. . .

"MWO ?! Byuntae !!"
