Jung Yunho had always been the perfect son; not even once he had disappointed his parents going against their wishes.

He was a smart and calculating person and he loved his job, but everything else beside it was meaningless to him. 

And he had never fallen in love in his life.

Of course in 27 years of his life he had been in relationships, but just because he had some obvious, natural needs too. 

In fact, all of his relationships had been of the ual kind and they never lasted long because somehow his partners always wanted something more from him. Something he couldn’t give to them. He wasn’t interested in such a fleeting feeling as love was.

What was the point in falling in love and giving all of yourself to someone, if it was a given that sooner or later that relationship would end?

He knew that his parents were going to marry him off to someone. They were already pressuring him and looking for the right partner for him. 

Yunho didn’t mind it. He knew it was his destiny; something expected of him. 

In the end it was just business, and being the excellent business man he was, he was going to comply without any complaints. 

During his life, Yunho had always felt like something was missing.

If he was going to think about it deeply, he had always been aware of the emptiness inside of him, but it had never bothered him. He was okay with it; he had accepted it a long time ago and didn’t even question it anymore. 

His work was what gave him more satisfaction, but since his two best friends were under his own agency and they were two of the most troublesome people in the world, he always had to clean up after them.

As a proof of this statement, that day for the nth time, he had found himself driving to Yoochun’s house to try to kick some sense into him.

His patience was running out; he never had a lot anyway. And his friends knew it well, but that didn’t stop them from causing trouble. 

To convince him to go in person to Yoochun’s house was the fact that he was positive his friend was hiding something from him, or better someone. The drama director seemed out of his mind when he told him about a mysterious boy that appeared at Yoochun’s side in the middle of the shooting.

“I’ve never seen anyone like him. His aura was just…”

That was what he had told him, hoping that Yunho was somehow hiding him somewhere at his headquarters. It was obvious that he wanted to have him to star in one of his projects. 

The CEO couldn’t help but be curious too, so he left the office and drove to his friend’s house.

Even though he was one of Korea’s best actors, Yoochun at hiding things from him; so when Yunho asked him about the supposedly breathtaking boy, he could clearly see drops of sweat forming on his forehead and his hands were moving around too much. He could smell the lie from kilometers, he had even looked towards the bathroom in apprehension, unconsciously giving away the hiding location to him.

But why was he hiding it from him? What was he so afraid about?

In the same moment he had put his hand on the handle, the door opened showing the most beautiful being he had ever laid his eyes on: the person in front of him had a white towel wrapped in an unusual way around his body, trying to hold it close with his hands. It gave him the impression that it was going to fall any moment. His blond hair was wet and his lips and face were reddish from the heat. Hungrily scanning the boy’s body he noticed the slim but firm muscles and hairless, slim legs. His skin was porcelain-like and he found himself drawn to it like some sort of magnet. Desire pooled in his lower belly like fire and his heart started hammering against his chest. 

This storm of various emotions forced him to do a double take. 

No one had ever provoked that kind of reaction in him until that very moment and he hated it. 

He hated that for the first time in his life he was feeling lost; he hated the way his breath was taken away in an instant, as the most magnificent pair of eyes he had ever seen met his own just an instant before they started pooling with tears. 

Both him and Yoochun couldn’t help but look at each other in shock and then take a step towards the boy as if they wanted to comfort him and understand what exactly was wrong with him. Then they froze in their tracks as an angelic voice whispered the last thing they thought they would have heard from a person they had just met.

“Yunho…” 

Yunho’s heart stopped. 

The voice was echoing in his ears, and the way it seemed to caress the word… he couldn’t wrap his finger around it, but he could have sworn that it wasn’t the first time he heard it. 

“Yunho… is that you?” The blond asked again. His voice was so hopeful that Yunho didn’t know what to make of it. Those eyes, deeper than the sea, were piercing into his very soul and it was funny because Yunho didn’t even think he had one until that moment. 

The boy seemed a teenager and Yunho thought he was probably at least ten years younger than him. 

Why was he crying? 

Yunho managed to get a hold of himself and looked towards Yoochun first who was as astounded as he was, so he had to exclude the possibility that this was some kind of joke his friend had planned to mess with him. 

He then looked back at the teenager.

“Who… who are you?” He asked perplexed but sincerely. He didn’t miss the hurt in the younger’s eyes as he pronounced those words. He could even hear how his breath hitched.

“You… You don’t recognize me?” The merman asked as a lonely tear fell from his eye, gracing his beautiful face. 

Yunho felt a tug at his heart. 

“I’m sorry, I think you’re mistaking me for someone else.” he replied. 

Somehow he felt genuinely sorry, and he himself didn't quite understand the reason either. It was as if something inside of him had stirred or awakened. 

Yoochun was looking between the two of them with widened eyes and mouth opened. 

“I would certainly remember you if we really had met before.” 

Had he really just said something that cheesy? It was so uncharacteristic of him. 

But the heartbroken look on the boy’s face was bothering him to no end. He felt like he was disappointing him.
