I don’t know how I went from never really riding a bicycle to riding a motorcycle. When you look at people using one you expect them to be so agile, carefree and dangerous. Well, now that I was on one I realized that they WERE quick and could go into places a car wouldn’t, the wind was in a way deafening despite the fact I was wearing a helmet and yes, they WERE extremely dangerous. Due to the latter fact, Minji would always laugh out loud every time I yelped in fear.

I was hugging her so tightly around her waist, with my eyes so firmly closed, that if it weren’t for my well trained ears I wouldn’t have been able to tell when we stopped.

“Wait” she said extending the letter ‘a’. “Let me park it and then you can jump off.”

I ignored her silent laughing as she slowly came to a halt. Oh God. ¿How did I even accept taking a ride? This morning I hadn’t even wanted to do that and now I was in front of my music school behind a beautiful cool looking girl. I mean, come on! ¿What would the people looking out through the windows think? ¿What would the people inside think when they see me come in after hearing the rumble of a bike?

“Hey. You can let go now, ¿you know?” Minji grabbed both of my hands and separated them.

She climbed down from this…thing but I felt her push on the opposite side so it wouldn’t topple over. I quickly made my way onto the cement path before having her strain her arms any further with my weight. Apart from the fact I had just ridden with this adrenaline freak the other thought that filled my head was that if she really was going to go inside with me. Even worse. Be coming here almost every afternoon starting on Monday. ¿Seriously?

“Good job, EMEFF.” She smiled as she put both helmets away.

“¿EMEFF?” ¿What the heck was that?

She turned around and started walking up the steps towards the tall red and white building. I realized that for some reason I hadn’t gone in yet, that I had stood there and waited for her.

She glanced at me and winked. “Music Freak.”

I gaped at her. It wasn’t an insult but I probably took it a little too hard despite knowing it was true. Maybe that’s why I actually responded back to her. “¿Music Freak? YOU are the freak.” I said pointing at her bike.

“Hmm.” The girl with dark red-poppy hair grinned and shrugged lightly at me. “At least I admit it.”

Rolling my eyes I started walking up the white steps that led to what seemed like a mansion. Believe it or not, this place was the farthest away location in this town. The director of the institute always believed that tranquility is the place where the best of music sprouts. Not that he was wrong but I think that getting a mansion plus a huge garden surrounding it was just over the top. To say the least, it wasn’t that tranquil if it had a fence surrounding it for security purposes.

“Nice place.” Minji said from behind me.

I nodded at her slightly trying to go back to my anti-social attitude before going inside. There were only a few people I’d talk to here, but knowing human beings, this person here was going to catch more attention than in school.

I opened the big glass door to reveal the elegantly designed living room. It was like you’d expect it. There were two large frames opening up on either side of the room and two big staircases at the back to be simple in description. Ah, and let’s not forget the chandelier hanging from the wall. I could swear that if we ever had an earthquake, whoever got hit by that would have a million of pieces of glass penetrating their body…

Yeah.

Sadistic thoughts, I know.

Anyway, the place had its rich but modern feeling once you saw the other rooms in the first floor. I never go inside of them. Much less describe them. ¿Why? I just try to erase the fact that they exist. The only thing I wouldn’t do that with was the front desk under the staircases. In it there was this tall, green-eyed, dark-haired guy holding a cellphone next to his ear right now. His name was Mr. Frederick. He also gave classes here but no one really knew why he was the receptionist/secretary of this place. Of course though, I did. Due to that, I always avoided talking to him.

I went to the side and started climbing up the stairs when I heard Frank (that’s how I call him) saying my name.

“What, ¿Frank?” I said putting my trumpet case down on the step.

He frowned at me. “One: stop calling me Frank.” (Which I wouldn’t) “Two: Come here.”

I my heel knowing perfectly well how it wasn’t a good idea to ignore him. I glanced at Minji who was watching me with a raised eyebrow probably surprised by my uncommon interaction with another human being.

I stood in front of the desk, which looked like one of those in five star hotels, and put my arms crossed on top of the wooden counter top. I looked at him and frowned in question.

“Don’t be such a nerd, Siyeon.” He said scratching his slightly unshaved beard as he leaned closer to me. It took me by surprise but I somehow understood he wanted to whisper to me so I closed my ear in to him. “¿Was that you in the motorcycle?”

It took me a while to answer back deciding whether I should answer with the truth or not. Then, I realized that taking so long probably ga
