Chapter 1

[Baek]

My eyes slowly open adjusting to the dingy hue. Fragments of light spill into the room from under the metallic door. There is no other light in my room beside a red dot hidden within the ceiling corners. I scan the surroundings trying to take in as much information as I can. I’m sitting cross legged in a small box of a room with only a toilet and sink to accompany me. In my lap rests a deflated pillow with the words “KKBOP PROPERTIES” stamped on. I grip my hands onto the floor feeling the coarse carpet beneath me and shuffle away until I feel the brick wall digging into my back.

My mind is clear. Too clear. Unnaturally clear. I think back on my memories, flipping through them like a deck of cards, yet when I turn them over they’ve all been swiped clean. Is there anything left in my mind?

Yes. My name is Baekhyun. Baek.

I love strawberries but hate cucumbers. I have no family. I’m not being protected, I’ve been trapped.

I sat there reciting this information knowing that what little I knew had become the most precious weapon I had.
