Foreword

October 10th, 2020, New York.

Her heart pounded in her chest. Unconsciously, every bodily reaction involved in that response to speak in public, arises in her mind. The medial zone of her hypothalamus received warnings in large quantities from the limbic regions of hers telencephalon, responsible directly for the behavioral responses related to survival. It was as if she were about to be attacked by a lion.

With the slightest difference, that with the feline, she would be doomed to death.

Taeyeon didn't understand, after almost 25 years of working, practically, exclusively with the organ, as the simple act of speaking to hundreds of people made her brain understand that she was beeing threatened. The theoretical, psychological and pharmacological facts that explained the reaction were never completely accepted by the neurosurgeon. It simply did not make sense at all.

"Thank you Dr. Wright for the incredible talk about your new results ..." The blond-haired woman tries to swallow her saliva in vain. Xerostomia. Damn sympathetic nervous system. "Now, we will give the space to Dr. Taeyeon Kim, directly from the South Korean, who will present part of her studies and results involving 'the transplantation of cerebral hemispheres in patients who had hemispherectomies, and brains compromised by the absence of neuroplasticity.'" The man raises his hands to starts the applauses, as the woman stands up.

It was time for the truth.

Hello there! Here is L_Mouse, and well, this is my new story! It'll be a little different from what I'm used to write, or do, but I think it'll be out fine. It may be a little bit confusing, but I hope I can let the things be as clear as possible. To introduce a little bit more of the story, Taeyeon is a neurocirurgian who will put one hemisphere in one of her patients, and it'll work out well. But, this hemisphere is from someone who she loved the most in the past, and it'll bring some problems.

I hope you all enjoy and give me support to continue to writte this fanfic, thank you~

I'll try to post the next one, when I get a nice cover for this, okay? <3
