Baekhyun was perfect. Certifiably perfect, approved by mothers and fathers alike in their whole neighborhood. Top of his class, athletic, gifted in many areas including his looks. Byun Baekhyun was either the one you envied or the one you wanted.

Which is why his disappearance was the only mystery that had always plagued Nayeon.

He had been her neighbor a long time ago. At five years older than her, she knew she had no chance, but he made her young heart race anyways. He was handsome, kind, considerate and even when he disappeared, a part of her hoped that he would return. Unfortunately, he was long gone, his parents moved soon after, refusing to talk about their son or give any information.

Days turned into years and he faded into her memories, the long forgotten golden boy.

That was four years ago and now, her life was nearly perfect, her last year of high school was halfway through. The announcement came on the first day back from break. Their teacher unexpectedly quit and their prestigious private school got a newly graduated teacher.

Inexplicably, Nayeon felt her heart stop as she sat feet away from the long lost golden boy.

The same questions that had plagued her for years came up all at one, why had he left? Why was he back? Why did he look past her as if she didn’t exist, or worse, as if he had no clue who she was?
