Chapter 13: Prosecutor Noh

Sun Woo (intern): That took 4 hours? Seriously?!
Ji Wook: (chuckles) You got a long way to go, kid. I've experienced an 8-hour trial before.
Sun Woo: What?!
Ji Wook: Yeah. (Laughs a little. His phone suddenly rings so he picked it up. He sighed when he saw that it was the director. He can still remember what happened yesterday, when he was scolded for the case his team hasn't solved yet - the case with the murderer that led him to living there for months.) I'll just take this call. Excuse me.
Sun Woo: Of course, Mr. Noh.
Ji Wook: You can go ahead. I'll be there in 10.
Sun Woo nods and bows. He's also a bit hungry but he thought of all the papers he needs to attend to in the office.

He was close to Ji Wook's office when he found the prosecutor's wife standing outside, with her back on the wall. Even if she's still 20 steps far from him, he could definitely see her trembling.
"Mrs. Noh?" He called but it seems like she didn't hear him so he called again. "Mrs. Noh.."
Bong Hee finally hears him. "S-Sun Woo-ssi.." she walked towards Sun Woo.
Sun Woo could definitely hear the trembling in her voice.
Sun Woo: Mrs. Noh, are you okay? (He's standing in front of Bong Hee now and was startled when he noticed that her eyes are watery - like she is about to cry. She could also hear the panic in her voice.) oh no. Mrs. Noh, what happened?!
Bong Hee: W-Where is Prosecutor Noh?
Sun Woo: He'll be here any minute now. He just finished a trial. I was with him two minutes ago. He just took a call..
Bong Hee sighs, like she's relieved to know Ji Wook's whereabouts. She nods and wipes a tear that fell from her eyes.
Sun Woo: Come inside. I'll make you tea.
Bong Hee: O-Okay..

Bong Hee keeps looking at the door. It's been an hour and Ji Wook hasn't shown up yet. Her hands are still trembling and Sun Woo is quite worried for her.
Sun Woo: I don't know why it's taking him so long.. Would you like me to check? I can go upstairs..
Bong Hee: Oh no, I-I don't want to bother you.. I'll just wait for him.
Sun Woo: Are you sure? You don't seem well, Mrs. Noh.. it's no bother, really..
Bong Hee: I'm f-fine.. (She tries to smile) Thank you, though.

It wasn't long and Ji Wook finally arrived. Sun Woo stands up to greet him.

Bong Hee stands up and walks towards him, as tears fall from her cheeks. Ji Wook is shocked to see her crying.
