The Boy Without a Mark

Description

In a world...where love is defined by the marks on your arm that you're born with,

a boy with a warm heart and a cold exterior is seen as an outsider for the simple thing he lacks.

Dreams of having that someone can't belong to him.

Will he be able to define himself in a world that neglects his value?

Foreword

Do Kyungsoo began life fragile and wide eyed to a family that barely could provide for themselves and his older brother. Well mannered, peculiar, and quiet, such words would be spoken of him yet nobody really knew what thoughts passed through his mind. At a young age he was teased for being different, he was one of the only children who hid his mark; his left arms were always covered either by bandages or long sleeves. The teasing got worse from just being picked on into his tween years where he was called autistic for his inexpressiveness, passive eyes, and cold aloof attitude.

A young Kyungsoo secretly wished that his mark would unveil someone who would accept him. Such dreams and fantasies died off as he grew older, he lost belief in soulmates as his parents became estranged abusive and the family that held him close and was his only warmth shattered. There he truly isolated himself from the world and the noisiness that had only been a bother and a reminder of his painful childhood as an odd one.

Expression as hard as it was for Kyungsoo to articulate in words his real voice was stunningly written out in books. This was his solitary bliss, cold afternoons where the clouds hung gloomily outside of his window a cup of hot chocolate and laptop comfortably sitting in his usual seat of placement. Rhythm of life its comfort was the known and the bubble which Kyungsoo had created for himself clean crisp and organized. Mildly self-proclaimed he was a perfectionist, as close to it as  a germophobe could get to cleaning the surface of a table. The downside to this of course was his unwillingness to try things if he thought he couldn’t precisely conquer them.

Heart shaped lips, the confidential of revelation in movement only was given with those who could secure his trust and comfort. He was surprisingly talented at conversation. Only to those who would take the time in order to give him the environment to warm up and speak his mind. He wasn’t completely shut off in that sense...but cautious. There was an easing factor for Kyungsoo in one on one conversation, where he could adjust to someone and reciprocate with ease. The clutter of too many eyes, the tension of too much attention closed down any bridge of confidence conversation could present to him.

This in all his essence was a boy raised in the shadows who grew used to the darkness that surrounded his thoughts.
